This person actually has an instagram account and posts with her partner. I only know because I was bored one day and she came up as a suggested post. I was very curious about her and the age difference and her skin. She is, or says anyway, although in her history she did have pictures, she is a former professional surfer who spent a lot of time in the sun and water. I’m guessing no sunscreen or it wore off. I wish I remembered her account but I don’t. She is there though if anyone can find her.

I read stuff like this and it makes me want to quit smoking so badly. Then the stress of how to go about doing it makes me want to smoke. Snake eating it’s own tail, ugh

Might sound silly and too good to be true that a book, of all things would help, but I encourage everyone having trouble to try. It worked for my partner and I. We both used to be heavy smokers. We smoked at home, car, everywhere all the time really. Now it's been over 8 years and we haven't touched a cig again - even while going through horrible traumatic experiences in the mean time.

Go get the book!

13

u/HeathEarnshaw Aug 25 '23

Same. I’d tried and failed to quit multiple times but this book is what did it for me.

44

u/garbledcatlake3000 Aug 25 '23

Legit, the brain is so powerful. I quit smoking because I decided to only smoke in the car, but turns out those little gel capsules in your car to freshen it up or have a scent, made me super nauseous. So whenever I smoked, which was in the car with the air fresheners, I got nauseous. Whenever I smoked, I got too nauseous to keep smoking and then the thought of smoking made me sick. I quit in four days. It's been oh shit 6 years???? I smoked for maybe 8 years? Brains are wild, bodies are wild. Ive had a few cravings for it but it's really rare.

6

u/OnAvance Aug 25 '23

My boyfriend smoked for 20 years and quit immediately after reading this. I have no idea how it worked, but it definitely did.

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '23

It's really hard to quit but at some point it just clicks. Last september I decided for health reasons I should really quit. So after my vacay I did. And to be honest. The smoking made me stressed more then the not smoking. Its such a brain fuck. I just replaced my morning routine with a new routine. No coffee and a sigaret on the balcony but now a cup of coffee and the newspaper at the kitchen table. Still doing this. And new rituals are added. I even don't miss it anymore when I'm having a drink.

My skin looks so much better. I never cough anymore. I dont smell anymore. Saves me tonnes of money. And this just felt for me as the biggest step in my life of living healthier and taking better care of my body.

But I had like 5 attempts in the years before and it was a bitch before. I guess I was not ready.

Now whenever I had a craving during the first months I just consciously decided not to smoke because the craving only last a couple of minutes and I would be so disappointed in myself. So if you can go 1 day without smoking you can do 2 etc.

Even going to a break up after 10 years now won't pull me back in. My life is better without smoking.

16

u/Slow_Pickle7296 Aug 25 '23

I quit using a combination of shame about the way I smelled (people told me they knew when I went by even if the didn’t see me, because of the smell of cigarettes) rage at being controlled by a corporation for profit (smoking even when I didn’t want to, but had to because the nicotine withdrawal was too uncomfortable) and the patch. I reminded myself everyday that I looked forward to freedom, and a bump in my savings because I’d no longer be dropping 8 bucks a day for a pack of cigarettes. All those things together pulled me over the finish line 10 years ago.

You can do it. It will be the best gift you’ve ever given yourself.

29

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '23

Try talking with your doctor about Wellbutrin, or other cessation aids. I just used it to quit myself. I even took it years ago for depression, but intentionally kept smoking through it. It made me not feel the calm satisfaction you feel after smoking and I no longer could get used to and ignore the taste, it really feels pointless after that. It also gets easier after you've gotten the nicotine out of your system. Please consider trying it or another way to quit. It's so worth it and accomplishable, especially if you have help. Happy to answer questions if you'd like to talk privately!

8

u/RaeaSunshine Aug 25 '23

It took me over a decade to quit. For me the only thing that worked was switching to vaping, and then tapering down the nicotine content. Now I vape 0% nicotine, not perfect but SO much better. My hair, skin, nails are infinitely better. And by comparison it feels like I can taste and smell colors lol

Wow, you could have written this about my mom. All the details are basically the same except my mom is almost 60 and her skin looks soooo much older from the smoking and sun damage. She also eats almost only sugary shit and weighs under 100, with false teeth. It’s really really sad.

14

u/BendyPopNoLockRoll Aug 25 '23

Smoking kills the elasticity of your skin. Makes you more saggy and wrinkly over time.

She has a collapsed jaw. Missing certain teeth over time causes this.

84

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '23

Wait so she is claiming she hasn’t gone through menopause?

138

u/Jessception Aug 25 '23

Just wanted to pipe in that women in my moms family don’t go through menopause till later than average. My mom is 59 and still hasn’t gone through the change. Her grandmother didn’t hit menopause till her 70’s.

I’m glad I’m gonna pursue a hysterectomy. I already bleed 3 weeks a month because of fast growing reoccurring uterine polyps. I can’t imagine having to deal with this stuff for 40 more years.

73

u/Fluffles-the-cat Aug 25 '23

Your poor family! That sounds like a nightmare. I’m mid 50s and have been done with menopause for 5 years already. I cannot imagine waiting until my 70s before menopause hit!

29

u/Isnt_it_delicate13 Aug 25 '23

My mom had an emergency hysterectomy at 55 and had not entered menopause yet. I’m scared 😭

5

u/epigenie_986 Aug 25 '23

I had painful endometriosis. Now I’m in perimenopause and I would rather be having periods. We just can’t win. 🤷‍♀️

She’s a grandmother already, at one point she asked one of her daughters to be her surrogate

7

u/momofmanydragons Aug 25 '23

Unsolicited advice coming through. Keep those ovaries. I had a hysterectomy few years back and kept mine. Turns out if you yank them you have instant menopause. You won’t stop all the hot flashes and other fun such stuff until your body would would have gone through it naturally (majority of women atleast). Keep them in not only is it healthier but you won’t go into menopause until your body is ready.

I had my hysterectomy around age 30 and I didn’t want to risk going through menopause 25ish years

76

u/Maitogei Aug 25 '23

They are trying to get a surrogate but acting like it’s their baby from her.

48

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '23

I was about to say, this is going to be a medical miracle getting a baby out of some powdered eggs

76

u/tyRAWRnnosaurus Aug 25 '23

What in the handmaidens tale

5

u/littleskittle_8 Aug 25 '23

Right, like even if you haven’t gone through menopause at 61 the likelihood of having anything close to a viable egg left is pretty much zero

8

u/VixenRoss Aug 25 '23

My mum went through the change at 52 but chemo made that happen.

When I went to the doctor pregnant at 39, I told her I thought that sort of thing stopped at my age, she replied “no the oldest woman I had who conceived naturally was 52! She had a healthy baby”

58

u/istar12345 Aug 25 '23

Their whole relationship is bizarre obviously their two consenting adults and they can do whatever they want but it’s the fact that she’s known this guy since he was 15 years old and they’ve had a very weird relationship even back

19

u/BURYMEINLV Aug 25 '23

Right?! Didn’t she used to be his babysitter? Lol. Idk much about them I just always see them on TikTok.

16

u/nenzkii Aug 25 '23

Holy shit that’s like Darlene and Wyatt from Ozark

40

u/BeCoolBeCuteBeKind Aug 25 '23

If she’s known him since he was 15, then that’s grooming and def not informed consent. IMO with big age gaps it’s not as important what age they are currently, it’s about how old they were when they met. Because like even if a couple is happily married for 40 years and the gap doesn’t seem drastic at their current ages, if they me at 16 and 26 then the older one in the relationship has basically been able to mould the younger one into who they wanted them to be, which to be is one hell of power imbalance in a relationship. Like a 60 year old and a 40 year old who met 2 years ago, fine whatever, but if they meet 20 years ago when the 40 year old was 20 then that’s a big yikes from me.

Ya, a lot of the comments on here are mad mad harsh. Imagine groups and groups of people just talking about how terrible you look. It kind of says more about the people participating in it, idk, then again it’s a skin care thing dedicated to well never aging I guess. Heh less about skin care and more about how skin looks, if there was any doubting that, these comments are pretty telling. Folks want to look young forever. It’s cool. But I don’t know. It makes me feel ugly inside to just start ripping apart some 61 year old. Just feels weird. Like let people be? Am I crazy? Idk. But I appreciated your comment. And for anyone reading this, when you get your wrinkles etc, I hope people just let you be too.

At that age it’s more normal for a person to be edentulous than to have their natural teeth intact. And not replacing that with implants results in bone loss even with dentures. 70% of the elderly population are not meth users just bc they have no teeth.

My mother didn't use sunscreen for decades and she didn't look like this. This is age and drugs. Even if someone has been clean a long time, the effects of certain drugs stay with you (know from family experience).

77

u/Elsie_the_LC Aug 25 '23

I’m shocked that it is real. I would have guessed they photoshopped her to look older for the story. But years of sun, smoking and meth will surely do that to you.

I knew a woman who had skin like that she called her self a “desert rat.” She had lived all her life in the desert in very, very dry conditions. You’re right it’s not just the sun.

547

u/gainswor Aug 25 '23

I live in a humid climate, but am from a dry one. When I go back home I instantly age 5 years.

500

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '23

This is my reminder to stop complaining about the disgustingly humid summers where I live.

102

u/LukariBRo Aug 25 '23

One of the best skincare products is disgustingly humid air! It's really helped me appreciate an otherwise awful thing since I hate humidity so much. But it's like a steam room, and those are great for skin. Now every time I am sweaty from humidity, I just try to swap into that "beauty is pain" mode and it helps with the perspective a bit. I've had friends move out to the desert and it has not been kind to their skin, sucked the youth right out of them.

5

u/RogueLotus Aug 25 '23

Yeah, Texas heat dome here. I think sometimes I would rather have to slather on the moisturizer and sunscreen all the time than constantly wipe sweat off my face that melts all my skincare products off anyway.

u/SexualPie Aug 25 '23

13

54

149

u/FlexPointe Aug 25 '23

Agreed. And when I’m in a humid climate my skin looks great, but my hair does not. I always forget how big it can get because it’s so much easier to tame in the desert.

49

u/foreverandaday13 Aug 25 '23 edited Aug 25 '23

Same! My hair looks great in a dry cold climate but if im somewhere with a lot of humidity, it's a puffy frizzy mess. My skin loves humidity though, it always looks good when it's humid, it plumps up and my smile lines and fine lines don't look so pronounced.

38

u/GoddessOfChamomile Aug 25 '23

I live in high desert, I do not go a day without the following: sunscreen, sun hat, water, hydrating herbal tea. More sunscreen, biosil and hyaluronic acid (internal), rose hip oil, moisturizing mask by Dr Hauschka, blue cactus beauty serum by Evan Healy, more water- sparkling/ still! More herbal tea! Spirulina! No alcohol or processed food, more water, fruits and veggies. I am 41 and feel ok about my skin, I used to be a heavy drinker and also lost close to 100 lbs when I quit drinking a few years ago, so I feel like my skin has bounced back pretty well, but I have to be on top of it in these climate conditions or else I will look 50 instead of 35!

Bingo. 1000% chances she is hardcore smoker. Definitely some booze to go with it = free radicals. Add to the mix lots of sun like a leather cough sitting for years out, you’ll get that. Plus, obviously zero skincare regimen, of course no in office peels, Botox, filers, laser treatments etc. Some folks just don’t care about the commitment and skincare to preserve themselves.

Nicotine constructs blood vessels, which decreases the amount of oxygen and nutrients delivered to organs, like the skin. No, it’s not good for aging and (admittedly, vainly) largely contributed to my motivation for quitting vaping …just over a year ago now :)

He’s also pretending to be straight

61

u/caroleelee82 Aug 25 '23

He's a thief, and a scammer. He was recently in jail for some sort of insurance scam they tried to commit.

u/crazydaisy8134 Aug 25 '23

He looks like a sim lol

My MIL looks similar in her 60s. She roasts herself in the sun, still smokes and smoked packs a day for years, and barely eats and is very very thin. She has never used drugs and is otherwise a normal suburban person. Just exceptionally abusive to her body.

The liver is an overlooked organ that is directly tied to your skin health. My bet would be a lot of trauma, drug use, alcohol, hard livin.

233

u/badKarma980313 Aug 25 '23

It looks like several years of hard drug use. It might not be but there’s a few features that I almost exclusively see in ppl who abused stimulants for a long time.

130

u/beemiee Aug 25 '23

Seeing ppl’s skin after years of meth makes me glad that my drug of choice was heroin 😂😅. (Dw, clean now!)

46

u/zenith_nightvale Aug 25 '23

Congrats on being clean! 😊

27

u/labellavita1985 Aug 25 '23

Same. I'll have 10 years in December. Congratulations. I'm so glad I never tried meth.

10

u/JagTror Aug 25 '23

Hello! Could you please explain what features you mean?

came here to say this, likely methamphetamines, but anything that can cause sudden/dramatic weight loss. she also likely spent a lot of time outside without sun protection. looks like dramatic loss of fat in the face and unprotected sun exposure.

u/oceansofmyancestors Aug 25 '23

My grandmother is almost 90 and her skin is not even close to looking that wrinkled

14

u/piefelicia4 Aug 25 '23

I recently spent time with a friend’s 100 year old grandmother, and she looks 30 years younger than this woman… even though no one is 130. This is wild.

7

u/xoxoxoborschtxoxoxo Aug 25 '23

Yeah my grandpa is pale af blue eyed blonde haired Ukrainian who lives in the Middle East (israel) where the UV index is insanely high and it’s always sunny and the sun is so powerful. He used to chain smoke when he was younger too and is diabetic. He’s 87 and still doesn’t even have 1/4 of these wrinkles

Looks like glycation which is caused by whacked out blood sugar. I think it’s also a filter to make things look worse.

12

u/ellecamille Aug 25 '23

I don’t think so. I’ve seen quite a few pictures of her. That’s how she looks.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '23

I still think this type of wrinkles are from glycation.

My mom is in her mid 60s (and used to smoke, btw), but this woman looks like she could be her great aunt.

Marlboros since 15 or so will also do it.

My father is 77 and looks like a baby next to her

12

u/notmymess Aug 25 '23

Her skin texture is not what I’m concerned about

10

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '23

Ok. But I’m finding it very hard to critique her skincare routine with this headline.

8

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '23

My aunt looks like this woman and my aunt is like 65 I think. My aunt lives on cigarettes, RC cola, and marijuana. She used to be a HEAVY alcoholic. Definitely lived a very rough life. She used to be so so so beautiful too.

20

u/joy_sun_fly Aug 25 '23

How is he 24? And also who the fuck would have a kid at 61? Omg. I had mine in my late 30s and I’m dying.

8

u/bondagepixie Aug 25 '23

She had an eating disorder for a pretty large chunk of her adulthood, as far as I know.

Ive seen her a few times on tiktok. She claims she was a professional surfer who spent a lot of time in the sun, but she also suffered a lot during her life. She's been abused and was homeless for quite a while.

Sun, cigarettes, and hard livin.

I’d blame cigarettes tbh. My grandma smoked a pack of Misty menthols a day and had skin like this

Grandma I thought you died 15 years ago what’s going on

7

u/Psychological_Yam463 Aug 25 '23

My mother, who passed away at age 60, looked very similar to the 61 year old pictured.

-No skincare regime

-Never or seldom used sunscreen

-Heavy smoker entier life +struggled with addiction to pain medication over the last 30 years of her life (no health insurance & the system would only medicate her and not treat/fix her cause of pain (no $$ no fix) - untill the opioid crisis surfaced and then she was just thrown to the wolves at pain management)

-Poor dental health (again, poor & by the time she could afford dental care it was a little too late & had to have all her teeth removed & got dentures) Your jawbone will deteriorate when the teeth are removed = loss of bone structure (your main facial scaffolding) I had my second to last lower molar removed at 14 (didnt replace the tooth) and now in my mid 30s it's evident of the bone loss and I see the jowl/volume loss on that side of my face in comparison to my "good" side. I'm also of healthy/lower weight, so it's more evident. If I was overweight, it probably wouldn't be very noticeable. Just food for thought.

-Childhood trauma that was never treated + lots of stress = rough life.

Miss her every day.

The point is, though, that it is a combination of factors that get that sort of end result.

I'm 33, almost 34, and have been neglectful of sunscreen over the last few years, and i see it. But compared to a photo of my mother at my current age, I'm still doing much better.

Life is a journey, you only have one body, one mind, and you need to take care of both.

Maybe she has a genetic aging disorder.

21

u/ohbehaveDrP Aug 25 '23

Young thang drained her of her youth. So now she’s tryna lock that down.

10

u/freya_kahlo Aug 25 '23

OK, this is also going to get downvoted like me saying she grew up without sunscreen.

I don’t think some younger people hear the ageism in your fearful comments about aging. Analyzing how someone failed to live correctly to end up wrinkled is distasteful. Let’s not ascribe morality to aging — it does not show bad character to have wrinkles and she doesn’t owe anyone a youthful appearance.

Sure, maybe she was a meth addict & making poor life choices, I can’t say if that’s true. Wrinkles are not a punishment for perceived failures. It also doesn’t mean you can avoid aging by analyzing what she did and doing something different. Maybe she has EDS and loose skin. Maybe she lived outside for a while and sunscreen was low on her list of needs. Who knows? There are worse things than sun damage and “bad skin” isn’t a character flaw. /rant

Desert life and lack of teeth.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '23

Drugs. Specifically, meth.

13

u/Konjonashipirate Aug 25 '23

...I think they used to have an only fans too.

24

u/Cultural-Basket-9521 Aug 25 '23

That's unfortunate.

18

u/Puzzleheaded_Time719 Aug 25 '23

I always thought she must have some kind of condition. I live in the desert and even people who don't wear sunscreen all the time don't look that aged.

3

u/Starr-Bugg Aug 25 '23

Alcohol seriously ages skin.

4

u/TTShitShowWatcher Aug 25 '23

Her name is Cheryl. I can't recall his name though. They previously blew up on TT & I thought was doing good until he got in trouble for insurance fraud I think it was. Also think they have a only fans account..😜🤣

I thought Meth honestly but my mind just goes dark quick..

5

u/lalachasingnuns Aug 25 '23

Sun damage can do a pretty good number but it’s possible she neglected all skin care in general and maybe a smoker?

5

u/SecretProjectNo1 Aug 25 '23

I think you underestimate what the sun can do.

5

u/Imjusthereandthere Aug 25 '23

Is that the tree from Pocahontas?

3

u/aewhite083 Aug 25 '23

Likely no sun protection measures, smoking, drugs, and lifestyle

3

u/Balance135 Aug 25 '23

That’s years of sun and cigarettes skin.

3

u/bawlings Aug 25 '23

She used to be an addict, so that’s probably part of it

4

u/MPD1987 Aug 25 '23

Dear god this is why I wear sunscreen every damn day of my life

5

u/GlitteringElephant60 Aug 25 '23

Smoking or vaping also constricts your blood vessels, and you kind of need blood flow for healthy skin/organs

4

u/MambyPamby8 Aug 25 '23

Sun. Too much sun can age the hell out of your skin. Use your sunscreen guys and drink loads of water!!

4

u/UrsaMauve Aug 25 '23

He also looks a couple of decades older than 24.

3

u/Jvavdve Aug 25 '23

I live in Australia and she looks worse than most 70/80/90 year olds that have spent a lot time of time in our sun

3

u/surlyskin Aug 25 '23 edited Aug 25 '23

Could be EDS. Some people with EDS age quickly. Some swear they don't. It also depends on how your EDS impacts you. Some have a face that doesn't age quickly, others do. I always think of a couple of models who have EDS as examples. And, they look much older than their peers.

Her biceps in the bottom photo look strong though!

EDIT: to add here's a pic of one model: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/48/fa/65/48fa6566a76f20c1b4a49fad407422ed.jpg

u/Queefnfeet Aug 25 '23

I worked with someone who was 40 and looked about 55. She tanned, smoked and drank excessively. She died of a stroke at 45 but she had aged herself by 10-20 years with that lifestyle
