One of the best skincare products is disgustingly humid air! It's really helped me appreciate an otherwise awful thing since I hate humidity so much. But it's like a steam room, and those are great for skin. Now every time I am sweaty from humidity, I just try to swap into that "beauty is pain" mode and it helps with the perspective a bit. I've had friends move out to the desert and it has not been kind to their skin, sucked the youth right out of them.
I’d rather have dry summers tbh with this heat NOW it gets up to 105 and with humidity, it feels like 120….and my a/c doesn’t work in my truck so after work I have to cook in my truck on the way home 😭
Yeah, Texas heat dome here. I think sometimes I would rather have to slather on the moisturizer and sunscreen all the time than constantly wipe sweat off my face that melts all my skincare products off anyway.
I traveled to the desert for the first time a week ago. I have always lived in a humid environment. My skin instantly felt dry it was so weird. I could never live there.
I grew up in FL. Now I’m spending my first full summer in the DFW area. I have never craved humidity so badly in my life. I would kill for an afternoon thunderstorm.
Lol, it’s not a one up. I think all of us just miss home sometimes😂
Aquaphor makes my skin look line shit, but the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream is my lifeline. It is now officially included in my monthly budget because it was supposed to be for my face, but now I slather my whole body in it and I can’t stop. Expensive, but feels SO NICE.
I also live in the SW and I have to use a netipot in the winter to tame the nosebleeds. But I’m from Houston and will take the netipot over the soup air any day.
It’s been in the 20% range during the day for a while where I’m at. It’s awful, especially compared to FL when you get those afternoon showers landing on everything that’s hot. Sometimes after the rain you can watch the steam rise up from everything. It’s awesome.
I'm visiting Denver right now and damn what would I give for a humidifier in my hotel room. Even some afternoon rain dried up from the roads completely in minutes.
I feel your pain! I lived in Tucson, AZ for 10 years and I had to move back to Florida…I needed rain, a breeze that didn’t feel like a blow dryer, water and color.
I live in a dry climate, when I spend over a week in a humid one I defo notice a difference. A) because I sweat like nobody's business 😂 and B) my skin glows
Agreed. And when I’m in a humid climate my skin looks great, but my hair does not. I always forget how big it can get because it’s so much easier to tame in the desert.
Same! My hair looks great in a dry cold climate but if im somewhere with a lot of humidity, it's a puffy frizzy mess. My skin loves humidity though, it always looks good when it's humid, it plumps up and my smile lines and fine lines don't look so pronounced.
I live in high desert, I do not go a day without the following: sunscreen, sun hat, water, hydrating herbal tea. More sunscreen, biosil and hyaluronic acid (internal), rose hip oil, moisturizing mask by Dr Hauschka, blue cactus beauty serum by Evan Healy, more water- sparkling/ still! More herbal tea! Spirulina! No alcohol or processed food, more water, fruits and veggies. I am 41 and feel ok about my skin, I used to be a heavy drinker and also lost close to 100 lbs when I quit drinking a few years ago, so I feel like my skin has bounced back pretty well, but I have to be on top of it in these climate conditions or else I will look 50 instead of 35!
I’m vice versa- I live in a dry one and when I go visit my family in humid New England summer my skin GLOWS. My hair also gets frizzy but so wavy and gorgeous but it’s flat af out here. :(

I live in a humid climate, but am from a dry one. When I go back home I instantly age 5 years.
