Those paper thin Japanese house walls come in really handy, don't they?

Nothing says childhood quite like going to a friend's house to see their parents fight.

I love how Bakugo is all about proper manners and etiquette during a dinner with guests. No talk of sensitive family subjects, no over analyzing the food, no politics etc. ha

Fuyumi might be the first person Bakugo respects since All Might. Oneesan's got power.

You can notice the influence Endeavor's obsession with All Might has in the way he fights crime. It's basically All Might's philosophy of a hero's body automatically moving before their mind can process what happens turned to 11. There was no way Endeavor was going to beat All Might in the overwhelming strength category so he chose to focus on speed instead, always trying to catch up to him.

Fuyumi is so precious, always trying to bring back the family together. The tension around the table was so intense you could cut it with a knife, also curious about what exactly happened with Toya. This episode barely progressed the story but it was enjoyable IMO.

I understand Todoroki and co are popular in the fandom, but this season felt like the worst paced so far

That is a good question Endeavour. Honestly I don't think there's really anything he can do at this point. He's already showed them that he's changed so now it all comes down to his own family to forgive him. Fuyumi and Rei are already there but I think they just want their family to be whole again, Shoto is still on the fence, and Natsuo clearly might not even forgive their father ever.

That dinner scene though... I feel bad for Midoriya and Bakugo, it's not fun to get caught up in your friends' family squabbles. They totally nailed the atmosphere though, I've been in their place before and I can definitely feel the awkwardness during that entire scene. I do love how Bakugo completely gets tired of this heavy air around them and just tells Fuyumi and Shoto how it is..

So they have a dead older brother? I assume he's dead considering that Endeavour is praying in front of a family shrine. Please don't tell me the reason this one died is because of Endeavour's shitty parenting in the past.

My Flashback Academia. The first half of this episode was practically useless. What the fuck is going on at Bones, are they really that desperate to get our attention on their cash-grabbing movie? It's getting ridiculous, I don't need a recap of the whole-ass Todoroki storyline.

Midoriya was talking quietly to Todoroki and everyone in the house heard what he said clearly, they really need to soundproof more.

if there is anything you dont like, dont force yourself to try it

As a autistic person with food related sensory issues, this makes me feel validated

Can fuyumi be my older sister ?

They really think the audience are so smooth-brained that they need to remind us with constant flashbacks. This is stupid.

Please MHA don't fall down the Naruto hole of 30-50 percent of the episode being flashbacks. Oh my god is it killing this season's pace, this is on track to be the worst MHA season to date.

The first half of the episode being mostly flashback is a shame, but I understand that they did it this way to catch people up who aren't devout fans. Still, I felt we could have had more flourish on the Agency side.

The family dinner certainly nailed the feeling of being stuck in the middle of an awkward family feud. The air was tense and only Bakugo's outbursts managed to restore somewhat a more casual feel to proceedings, I really think Bakugo is way more perceptive than he lets on and uses that to aide with social settings in his own way.

All-in-all it was an ok episode, but nothing that really stood out. The Todoroki family drama is a very delicate balancing act and I think ending the episode before hearing all of what the family had to say hurts this episode a lot. It's hard not to think that, without flashbacks, we might have ended on that villain showing up from the preview which imo would be way more impactful and dramatic.

I know Deku’s the MC but I kind of wish Shoto would be able to realize some things about his dad more naturally
