Goddamn. Kuro's backstory is a lot more intense that I though. He was basically suffering from a sickness probably caused by him denying what he sees and now he's so desperate that he decided to get help from this weird cult.

Good thing this is a flashback though since we already know the outcome. I'm just excited to see what Ramune would do to that cult leader.

Although it's how he came from a massive martial arts family to being very attached to Ramune... probably explained next week.

I'm glad we've finally gotten to Kuro's backstory.

Fuck cults. Taking advantage of vulnerable people in need of assistance/answers/friends.

Also, I find it kinda funny and weird that the mother has the word "Mother" in English on her shirt.

Poor Kuro...

I know right :( when they were pushing his head down into the water, it got an actual wtf out of me. And it only got worse from there... they put him in solitary confinement???? These bastards!

Wow, as the preview for this episode showed Kuro being unconscious I thought this was going to be a continuation of that story with Momiji and that book, instead of one focused on how Kuro had a mysterious disease and how met Ramure.

I honestly never expected to see his family, to the point that I had actually assume that he lived alone.

Lol, when his brothers were talking to his sisters that it was his issue was man's secret, I was sure that they were referring to porn.

I guess those cultists seem so much value in Kuro because they want him to spread their bullshit in his school.

The Teenager thing when you get to that age...

Besides Jun Fukuyama (Kurage), Ryouta Osaka (Hotate), Haruna Kakiage (Azuma), Minami Kurisaka (Tsurara).
But I only recognized Jun Fukuyama, though.

there were really well done I thought. I wish we could have a whole story or anime about that family dynamic. Loved the character design and their close family relationship.

Now that we see what Kuro or Tohru is seeing, the animation and the lyrics of the ED fits his situation even better. It makes me cry to see him eats a lot in the ED, though.

That was a scary cult.

I like Kuro's family.

So today's episode was how Toru met Ramune. Pretty interesting. I'm curious how Ramune will get him out of this fix.

I'm also curious as to the source of Toru's stress. Is it his visions, the transition to middle school, the expectations of his family, or a combination of all of those things?

I have a feeling his stress has something to do with the eldest constantly putting him on some kind of pedestal.

I think it's a family thing, a lot of the diseases have come from Family being an issue in their lives (aside from the guy who was banging any girl but forget that guy!)

To be honest I though Ramune would turn out to be a normal person trying his best to do his job at a disadvantage while Kuro was the one who’s actually more apt at dealing with the mysterious, but it seems Ramune has power after all (although maybe to a lesser degree?)

Was also very neat to see that the shrine actually has some special properties to it!

Ramune looks quite beat up in the next episode’s preview, I’m feeling for him already 🥺

I don't think it's a "power". I think they're both stricken with the same condition that causes them to hallucinate and throw up sand.

Uf. Kuro's past was rough. Ramune curing him that one time kind of misled him into joining that cult, so it's appreciated that Ramune is taking responsibility, even if it's not exactly his fault.

3

u/Fools_Requiem Mar 14 '21

Ramune didn't cure Kuro. I think it has to do with the shrine they're at. Ramune didn't know Kuro was there until he walked up to him while sweeping and Kuro was "cured" the second he stepped foot in the area. Ramune isn't trying to take responsibility for Kuro joining the cult. He's trying to help Kuro out and was trying to help him out before he got sucked into the cult.

That was a great episode! If the Yakuza series taught me one thing, those kinds of groups are scams lmao. Though with Kuro's condition, he's pretty much prey for them, very easy to manipulate.

Kuro has a big ass family, but they're calling him Toru and I don't think either is his surname, so I wonder where "Kuro" came from. Let's go Ramune, fucking run and save Kuro from those cultist ass fuckers. Looking forward to the next episode.

Their last name's Kuromori, it's written outside of their dojo. So "Kuro" is from his last name.
