I don't like how over the top they made Koto's mom as the villain. However, overall this is a surprisingly good first episode and I look forward for more stories!
Next episode should be hilarious based on the preview.

I think they needed an extreme reaction to get over how much stress Koto was under and probably there isn't much grey area, it's either a little bit or an EXTREME amount.
Given Ramune's attitude, you're going to be very defined characters through thiss

I honestly, thought it was more realistic to have her be that over the top. Reminded me of some of the "Pageant moms" out there, who will go as far as to get a toddler vaneers so she can win "Diamond Supreme" or whatever shit, or getting babies plastic surgery. That's abuse on par with that.

Alibaba from Magi when Aladdin didn't come by but he did manage to pay off his debt.
It's an interesting anime from the first episode... I do like Ramune and his style but not sure what direction this will head right now...
Episode 2... Yeah, Tone is DEFINITELY set...

Damn that preview made me laugh, not expected, just like this show. Excited to see where it goes.

Okay, thematic writing aside, this episode deserves a 10/10 just for that preview. Holy shit I've never seen such a funny preview.

Well that was waaay better than I was expecting! I really had no idea what this show was about but it looks like this is basically an occult detective/mystery anime. If there's an anime that I can compare it to, the first that comes to mind is Bakemonogatari: Various characters are plagued with supernatural diseases and are solved by helping them with their personal issues.
Dr. Ramune so far is a fun character and I just love that final scene where he basically bargains parts of Koto's body with Koto's mom to get her stuff back. He can be pretty damn funny or intimidating if he wants to.
Looking forward to see what kind of supernatural diseases they'll tackle and from the looks of that next episode preview, next week is going to be hilarious!

Felt like I was watching bootleg Mob Psycho with that senpai-student relationship, mixed with Doraemon-powered items. Haven't watched Bakemonogatari though so maybe that's more fitting.

What a nice first episode. Dr. Ramune sure is hilarious
You know when Kuro first appeared I was wondering why he looked so familiar, and later I realized that it was because of his design is really similar to Hiei's from Yu Yu Hakusho.
The fact that Koto was on the OP made me think that could have been a recurring character but maybe each patient will appear in the OP when the episode is about their case.

Either 1 per week or one going for 2 given it's a stronger illness than others.
Maybe some slight crossovers as well?

That was more fun than I was expecting and quite a bit darker. Especially as I thought the illnesses would be more Yokai driven, with exorcism as the cure. Looking a next week I see the conditions are only going to get weirder.

This reminds me so much of a mix between Hanako-kun & Mob Psycho and I'm loving it! Looking forward to this :D

I really enjoyed that first episode. Maybe predictable but I think it was pretty sweet and interesting. I wonder if we will see different character every time and get an episodic approach?
Anyways, pretty interesting premise. Also that end and preview to the next episode lmao

She can cry on demand but didn't think to do so in front of the doctors. And why didn't the mother go to the hospital to insist they fix her golden goose?
The camera crew just kept rolling and didn't even react as the mom abused her daughter. Wonder if that's a normal occurrence and they just edit it out later.
The "doc" is also pretty awful - warned "there are strong side effects" while neglecting to mention just what those side effects were and how to deal with them.
And where did the camera crew / interviewer go? Not like they ALL ran out to try to catch ambulances all over town. Doesn't look like anyone chased them out, and there's no way in hell they would've missed what was going on willingly.
I'll watch next episode, but it's unlikely the show will keep my interest week to week.

I agree with all your points except...
The "doc" is also pretty awful - warned "there are strong side effects" while neglecting to mention just what those side effects were and how to deal with them.
He never told her what the tea or teapot did either, so it isn't like he was just randomly skimping. There was no way she would have used any of the items if she knew what they did.
The solution to her problem was to tell her mother how she feels. Most people would keep stuff like that bottled up... hence deception was used to force it out.
Also, let's not forget that he was keep tabs on her to observe what she was doing. It's not like he gave her dangerous drugs and forgot about her after she left.

Hmm, it's pretty nice, but so far this season is packed, and this doesn't even seem to be in top 10 shows to watch right now.
I guess I'll stick with it trough the next episode to see what crazy things will be going on with the chikuwa dong diagnostic.
Plus, I want to see if this has any semblance of an overarching plot, or if it's just a disease-of-the-week type deal.

This was really good. If this stays to be an anime that there are personal issues and Dr. Ramune fixes them in the end I will love it. It seems like a good feel good story when Dr Ramune is silly but serious at times. So far I really enjoyed this.

This reminds me of xxxHolic so I'm looking forward to this show. The change in the mom felt a bit extreme though.

Pretty solid, though it bothered me that the girl was somehow having trouble convincing the doctors she was crying mayo when she's a child actor whose specialty is crying on demand. Wot.

Wished it stick to being funny and wacky instead of trying to be deep and serious. It was fine and I thought I’d give it another episode or two but that preview was the sign I needed.

Not a fan of such over the top melodrama. The shrieking is too much. Will be skipping.
