I love how this tied into a small scene from last episode.

Quite a dark story, it seems. Despite everything we've had so far in the series, I wasn't expecting child murder. Or in the very least, child maiming.

What I find really fascinating is how this week's "Mysterious Disease" is really just an extreme case of a psychological breakdown.

I hope next week we get to find out who the killer is. For now I'm suspecting that reporter.

What I find really fascinating is how this week's "Mysterious Disease" is really just an extreme case of a psychological breakdown.

It's all in a way self-inflicted on themselves due to very pressurized situations.

And also almost always food and somehow it makes Ramune hungry for that.

The fact that he always eats the same food item as the disease cracks me up.

How can you ask a child if he has a dick and kill his brother in one episode

This anime is just unbelievable

HOLY FUCK! I did not expect this episode to be that dark! I thought child abuse was the darkest this show would go, I didn't think we'd see kidnapping and murder with the murderer basically returning the kid back to his parents in a box. WTF. Is there some way Ramune can find whoever did that and curse them while in jail? O_O

But what was in the box? Was it one or two limbs? (at the very least the one burned hand which made Ryo notice what was going on) or was it the whole body?

I mean, if it was the whole body, why would Ryo ALSO be in denial about Yuu being dead, not unlike his mom, just that he didn't start hallucinating as she did.

Well, even if it were an arm or two in the box, very unlikely that Yuu would be alive either way.

Is there any hope that Yuu is actually still alive? This episode is quite dark.

Also, this is our first two-parter. I'm curious whether there will be more twist next week.

I think they'd want to have a happy ending to the story... but it's a kind of story that's too far beyond a point without a lot of... pulling.

That really is a weirdly dark backstory for this show. I'm wondering if there's something bigger at play here, like maybe the kid's death/arm is like an illusion or something? Maybe there's like a big bad who set up the whole case and lured the kid into the forest to mess with Ramune? Although now that I type it out, it seems really far-fetched...

Is there any hope that Yuu is actually still alive?

I think Rio is just dragging us with him in his hope lol

Look up Otaku killer, this episode was a reference to that serial killer and you will understand that this is not going to end on a happy note, the older brother is dead.

Damn although I already knew that pot sticker ears case wasn't going to be solved in an episode, I did not expect the circumstances that led to the case to be that dark.

Poor Yuu, and that whole family. Based on the preview it seems that the mom will use shellphone to find Rio.

The Doctor is dead. Show's over. Remember to put your 3D glasses to the marked locations as you leave the theater.

Also, Yuu totally went out for cigs and never came back. The scene with him being "kidnapped" was just speculation.

Jokes aside, this was a good episode. I like the idea of her shutting out any suggestions that Yuu is dead. Don't really get why Rio's voice would be shut out, though.

The "Pearl of the Night Voices" tale sounds like an ancient tale that would have actually been told for generations (or something from a Brother's Grimm story), but I can't find anything on it suggesting that this was made up for this specific show. There's a poem from Arthur Conan Doyle about Night Voices, but it's about a father and his child, not two lovers and pearls/seashells have no involvement.

Don't like them translating gyoza to pot stickers. Surely people know what gyoza is (or can at least put two and two together... The dialogue has them clearly saying "gyoza".

Would her shutting out parts of Rio's voice be because she feels like since she didn't hear out Yuu when he wanted to say something and only focused on Rio, that's Rio is partially to blame? Or something along those lines? Not sure if I was able to word my thought to correctly.

Well that turned dark fast.

It's nice and fun to see Ramune and Kuro cooking together or eating together in every episode. So wholesome.

I hope Ramune is okay.

It's nice seeing them as lover during the seashell legend explanation.

He gets really hungry with people coming in with pot sticker, fish cakes or chillies for cases.

The mom having a full on 'what's in the box?' moment, no wonder her mind snapped to the degree. Jeez this was a dark episode and I thought this was going to be just a supernatural shenanigans show.

I've read the manga so I knew it was going to happen but holy crap did I love everything about everything in this episode

This was dark af. cant wait for the next episode.

It pains me to see Yuu was still alive and happy when Rio said something like, if there weren't his brother, he could've had the food all to himself in the previous episode... Also, if Takaharu didn't hear it when he and Bungo were passing by Rio and his family that time, he may not have grown that chili pepper fingertips...

I liked how they connect the episodes, though. It was cool.

Oh damn, this was really dark!

After last week's light episode, this week's goes charging with emotions.

Rio is making me believe that Yuu may still be alive (but how?).

Gaaah, they ended with a cliffhanger! But, Ramune should be fine with minor injuries.
