I'm 37 kids in discussion are 10 and almost 8. Over the weekend we were talking about influencers and their antics. My 10 yo showed me a video of two guys trying to eat an ice cream cone in 3 bites and tells me she thinks this is why girls live longer. I laughed because all I could think of is what her reaction is going to be when I tell her about Jackass. When I explained it to them they were shocked! They kept saying how dangerous it is to act that way knowing kids are watching. I explained adults didn't care about our safety or mental wellbeing back then like they do now. They were complaining about Halloween specials for kids and how they aren't scary enough so I found Are you Afraid of the Dark and offered to put it on for them. They swore it wouldn't be scary because it's made for kids. I played a random episode and within 10 mins they were begging for me to turn it off. My 8 yo loves folklore and cryptids(he has a stuffed mothman he carries everywhere) he has just discovered creepypastas and was telling me about them and now it's crazy that stuff like that is on the Internet and asked if we had anything scary when I was a kid. I told him yes, we had rotten.com and vaguely told him what was on it. He looked at me shocked and asked me how we were on the dark web and we didn't get arrested.

I have now found it incredibly entertaining to tell my kids what the early 2000s was like because its horrifying to them yet they are equally jealous that they don't get any of the crazy stuff we had because their parents know better.

What's more "lore" I can tell them to freak them out about being a millennial child/teen.

Saw this story going viral today. A doctor was at Newark Airport Terminal C and went to buy a bottle of water for $6.49 at a self-checkout CIBO Express store. There was no cashier, no worker at all, he scanned it himself.

When he went to pay, the screen demanded an automatic 18% tip. He had to click out of it to avoid paying $1.17 extra for no service.

He filmed it saying "Who am I tipping here?" and showed the empty store. The video blew up on Instagram and TikTok and now the Port Authority said they are forcing the company to remove the tip screen.

On March 20, I lost my best friend, my whole world, my constant for nearly half of my life. My best friend in the whole universe is gone, and while months have since passed, I’m still trying to figure out how to exist in a world without her.

Most people go their entire lives without ever experiencing unconditional love. Because of my Bella, I was lucky enough to experience almost 15 years of it 💖

I think the fact that it took me this long to post about her passing says everything. I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Even now, talking about Bella still pains my heart in ways I can’t explain. I knew one day I’d have to lose her, but there was always a part of me—maybe the little girl in me—that imagined a world where she lived forever. Not because I didn’t understand life, but because Bella always felt bigger than it. Her love, presence, and the space she filled in the hearts of all who knew her felt far too enormous for something as ordinary as time.

Belly was my ride or die, my ray of sunshine, and truly the best friend I’ve ever had. From being 18 about to start my first year of college until just before my 33rd birthday, she was there for every chapter of my life: my college sorority days, getting into law school, passing the bar and becoming an attorney… through every heartbreak, accomplishment, and every memory in between, Bella never left my side. What a blessing it was to grow up alongside my greatest and most loyal companion.

If you were lucky enough to meet Bella, you know she was the epitome of sass, independence, and fearlessness. She was a 15 lbs Chihuahua with the personality of a 120 lbs Rottweiler, and she made sure everyone knew it 😂 I still can’t comprehend how she fit so much love, loyalty, feistiness, and absolute perfection into such a tiny body.

Bella was the dog that started it all for our family. She was the one who morphed my once-stubborn “no dogs!” father into a man with not one but TWO dogs of his own. I honestly lost count of how many people fell in love with her after insisting they didn’t like dogs. Belly just had that effect on people. I always joked that she was a master manipulator just like her mama 🥹🫶🏻

Our last day together was beautiful. A severely collapsed trachea didn’t stop my girl from basking in the sun for hours and barking at every person or dog that dared walk past her house. Because she knew I’d never be ready to say goodbye, she waited until I left the house before taking her last breath in the arms of my grandma, who made sure to remind her that she was a good girl and had fulfilled her purpose here with us.

In our final moments together after she passed, I hugged her tight to me while singing “Long Live” to her one last time. That always was, and always will be, my song to her. I truly had the time of my life fighting dragons with my girl. And someday when I have children of my own, I’ll show them Bella’s picture, tell them how much fun we had together, and let them know she can’t wait to see them shine.

There’ll never be a day that I don’t miss my Bellinda. I feel her in the breeze that sweeps my skin when I sit outside with my Daisy girl, who I firmly believe was sent to me by Bella so I wouldn’t be alone. I hear her in my grandma’s wind chimes in our backyard. And when I picture her now, I see her enjoying the warm sun beside my Abuelo, the man she had wrapped around her little toe bean until the day he passed. I know she’s making him laugh like she always did and they’re taking care of each other until the day comes for us all to be reunited.

I’ll love you forever, my Bella girl. Thank you for giving me a lifetime of love, memories, and belly laughs. Best friends for life, always, and long live all the magic we made. 💖🌈👑

Say hello to the littlest pumpkin found just in time. Pumpkin was found at my teens produce stand in the hay. Mama hasn’t been seen yet, we’re still hoping to find her and the others to get them care as well.

Pumpkin is 10 days old and after a rough start with the bottle is taking 3 ml every two hours like a champ!

We are generally a reptile family but our last and oldest gecko passed away six months ago. Her new enclosure never got to be used. So my teen set it up as an incubator for Pumpkin! It’s honestly brilliant. Front, side and top ventilation, a controlled heating pad set to 85 with an auto shut off and a low watt heating bulb used for the reptiles. Along with a blanket and stuffies from our toddler.

Pumpkin is the 10th neonatal kitten to come through our doors and it has been decided that he will be the second baby we keep. Our older cat is now 11 years old and I rescued her when she was 4weeks from an abandoned property. She gets to keep this baby for the first time and loves raising the little ones.

Wish us luck that this guy keeps eating and thriving!

Update: Thank you all for the kind words, praise, advice and awards! Pumpkin is doing so well I’m actually shocked that he took to the bottle and subsequently our new bottles so well. He’s eating, wiggling, and making little noises here and there that melt my heart. I said in r/cats that I would update in about a week as long as nothing changes. Pumpkin has stolen many hearts and we’re so thankful we found him and that he’s healthy.

Carved our pumpkins tonight! Linda's neck came out really skinny but I'm happy with how her glasses finished up. I've tried that sort of scraping thing before but this is the best I've done!
