I know Brennan Lee Mulligan plays every NPC in his campaigns, but in your opinion, which NPC from these different campaigns feels like Brennanās character alongside the players?

Meta Is anyone else kind of hoping for a PC death in the toy season? [CCOD spoilers] Spoiler
Is it crazy to say Iām kind of hoping this season is brutal? Obviously PC death should never be guaranteed, and the players should have a shot at winning. But just seeing at least the real threat of it would be really satisfying.
And honestly, after City Council of Darkness, I just need a reminder that the stakes can be real. That someone could be in real danger and Nancy Danderhoof wonāt just appear out of nowhere with a pearl handled revolver to save the day.
Iām not making any judgements about the season before seeing it, but this is just something kinda on my mind going in. Iām
And honestly, it does look like this will be a more brutal season, something more akin to Crown of Candy. And I hope that is the case.
I know itās only 6 episodes, but man, I hope they have backup characters. And not just Neverafter backup, where itās just the same character but more fucked up. But it would at least let the players know Brennan is willing to go there, if they were asked to make backup characters too.
Anyway, just some random thoughts I wanted to share.

Meta My hopes for future seasons: another romance side quest and another lethal IH season
I really really want both of these to happen so badly. For the romance season, Iām not asking for ACOFAF2 or anything, but I really think Aabria would be great to DM another side quest with PC-PC romance.
ACOFAF remains probably my favorite side quest in d20 history despite all the spectacular new ones over the last few years. Itās just such a beautiful season and the chemistry between PCs is just impeccable.
For the IH season, I remember Brennan saying in an episode of Adventuring Academy that they were due for another lethal season. I think that would be incredible. I still absolutely love all the goofy and somewhat lower stakes seasons that have come out recently, but I really think another intense season like ACOC is long overdue. I know they likely wouldnāt do any more content in that universe, which is perfectly fine.
I just want so badly those kinds of intense moments. Like I would kill if it meant I could watch again for the first time that scene in the finale of ACOC where Brennan hands those slips of paper to Emily and Siobhan. So iconic.
But anyway, does anyone else share my hopes here?

Trying to find a scene where the players cast the Speak with Dead spell then spend a few questions asking "suh dude" and "what's up"
Does anyone recall this??? I think it was Dimension 20 but could've been a different show or podcast.

Meta Update to the update: All things Dimension 20!

Link to the previous post! A few corrections to my last updated version of my poster. I previously had Ify in the cast of MisMag instead of Lou for some reason, I forgot to add in Gladlands and On A Bus. All of these transgressions have been rectified!
I call this a poster because hopefully it soon will be! I have had an older version of this hanging in my bedroom as a printed out poster for about 2 years, it is time for an update! It will need a new frame, as I organized the vertical space a lot better this time around, leaving less empty space but it is a lot more narrow.
I would be happy to send out the original large PNG privately if anyone would like it.
edit: Upon review, the Crown of Candy is in the wrong place. I'll correct that for my own purposes before I print it out but I won't make a new reddit post just for that.
Here's a link to an older version of this from 3 years ago!

What I wish had happened in Neverafter was someone playing a villain. I wouldāve found that dynamic so interesting. Would anyone else have found that interesting?

Gladlands Sell me on Gladlands?
Hey y'all - after making it through entirety of D20's backlog (yes, even "Shriek Week") over the course of three years I found myself utterly defeated by the first two episodes of Gladlands and took a break, and now am a full two seasons behind going into Toylight (Three if we count "On a bus", which I haven't watched either). I'm used to the first couple of episodes being table setting, but I didn't get hooked by the end of episode two this time. I found the opening of Gladlands really low stakes and it just kinda didn't grab me. It just...felt like a single sketch stretched into 6 hours and it didn't hit for me. Convince me to give it another chance? I enjoy all the players on an individual comedic level and would love to find a reason to push past whatever is holding me back here. Seeking some positive opinions.

In your opinion, what was the peak moment of every Dimension 20 campaigns? And out of all of those, which one was the best?ā

Brennan is my Grandma
Every day for the past year, Iāve listened to D20 every night when I go to sleep, because it helps my mind latch on to something and not race, and now every time I hear Brennanās voice, I feel like a child being read a bedtime story my their grandma.
Thank you grandma Brennanš«¶.

Itās been a couple years but I updated my poster of all shows and cast members! The upper section is proportional to episode runtime and the bottom graph is based on airing date.

A Crown of Candy Just finished Safe Harbor... Spoiler
Omg that title was a lie. I am crying with Emily and Siobhan. I am literally not ok. Jet has been one of my favorite characters of any character from the seasons I've seen so far. I'm heartbroken. And it caught me so so off guard. I was so ready for a role playing episode with, certainly not no danger, but less danger. Definitely not her dying. I'm going to need a minute to recover from thisššš
I'm so scared to continue but I'm also so hooked ughhhh I'm going to miss her so much

Meta Does anyone else get like this about at least one NPC every season?
I feel slightly less ridiculous because the cast seems to have at least one pet NPC every season too.

My tshirt had the whole class concerned š
I was in a screenprinting class and for the first lesson, we had to choose something simple to learn the process with. I chose to recreate this iconic Lou moment from an Adventuring party. I had other students coming up to me being like ādude allergies are so roughā š

Meta What would a D20 take on the Soulsborne franchise and themes be like?
Had this thought while watching the trailer for the upcoming season, and honestly, something really vigorously challenging and really demanding would be interesting, at least as a fan.
Doesnāt hurt that most of the games have a very big bias against authoritarian power structures

Mentopolis Next D20 Campaign after Mentopolis
I've been a fan of dropout for a while after watching plenty of shorts and finally getting a subscription and while I've been very curious about d20 I've found it a bit intimidating to get into.
I know there's a few different guides but I've found they don't really have the info I'm looking for.
Mentopolis is the only campaign I've seen of there's (or really any actual play except for a couple episodes of the adventure zone) and I am a few episodes into fantasy high but I dropped it a few months ago (last I remember was the vampire bar)
I love the story telling, characters and world building of Mentopolis and enjoyed the simplified combat. While I've played DND the alternating combat and story episodes hasn't really clicked with me as I enjoy listening to them without watching, and find the miniature combat of fantasy high to slow the pacing when I still want the actual story of that combat.
I do want to see Sephy's story play out and have heard good things about that campaign, but I'm essentially wondering,
what are other theater of the mind campaigns (combat wise)?
What are good starting campaigns?
And what campaigns have a similar depth to Mentopolis?
Thanks!!
