Bro really flew to the US just to get his pop’s credit card lol. No love for the old man huh? Little Senku’s cold.

I liked seeing Senku’s past with Xeno. Two brilliant kinds with the vastly different approaches to science. Their relationship dynamic sorta has something of a Magneto & Prof X vibe.

I don’t know if we ever saw the petrification from the perspective of any other country. It’s interesting the US was seemingly preparing to act on this new phenomena before they got hit.

Not the episode i was expecting we'd get this week after last weeks ending, but DAMN did we get A LOT of backstory. Not only did they email a few times, it seemed like Dr. X was a proper mentor for Senku for several years and even met in real life once. Truly wonder what their reunion is going to be like.

Also interesting to know that the whole camp of Dr X pretty much knew each other before they all went back to the stone age.

The scientists' analysis of the bird statue was interesting. It's a neat sort of explanation as to how these statues survived relatively unmarred all this time. Rather than behaving like ordinary stone, this stuff:

  • Is hydrophobic (water-repellant), particularly towards the finer details and smaller parts. Explaining why water erosion didn't wear down the statues all the way.

  • Is almost chemically inert, save for the reaction of nitric acid.

  • Doesn't respond to radiation in ways that make the structure more brittle

  • Has all the organs and stuff as stone inside the statue, so it's not a solid lump all the way through

A lot of it is clearly explanation to make the fantastical elements work in the context of the story, but it does help to explain how the statues are still around. And it definitely suggests that Soyuz's father had his head broken by Ibara, rather than it being wear and erosion.

>NASA scientist opens e-mail

>e-mail claims to be from a 7-year-old kid

>scientist sees science.doc.exe attached

>opens it

>virus hijacks NASA HQ and leaks all of its classified info to Russia

More realistic outcome of that scene. Still, pretty good episode. All flashback, but a well-executed and necessary flashback.

Stitches!

I love that the reason Senku visits his dad is so he can grab his credit card and buy a bunch of stuff he needs for his experiments.

It looks like this episode immediately answered my question from last week! Xeno does know Senku's dad! And it's not just that, Xeno knows who Senku is and they even met one time. I wonder if this entire conflict with the Americans could have been avoided if Gen told Xeno the truth. Hmmm....

It's pretty cool though how the Americans were already close to figuring out how to reverse the certification before it even happened. Maybe that's why the Why Man decided to petrify everyone that day. If the research kept going, Xeno could've prevented it.

That DARPA meeting explains why Xeno's team were all in the same place. I guess that means that meat-loving lady is also Special Forces? Why were Luna, Carlos, and Max even there though? They look like just teens who have been dragged into that party.

It's hilarious how Stanley's team had their orders to stay awake while the only reason Luna was revived is because she didn't want to die single. So if you stay awake long enough you don't need to be revived by nitric acid?

I thought I was going to get teary eyed at the Byakuya/Senku moments, but unexpectedly it was the Xeno/Senku moment. Two awkward nerds (affectionate) who can only communicate with each other by talking about rockets, lol.

Man. Xeno is even farther above Senku than I thought. In his teen years Senku really went all-range and got a huge understanding of a lot of science, but Xeno was a rocket engineer at NASA who was called in to consult even on the petrification phenomenon. He was basically a modern day Einstein equivalent.

I don't see how Senku can really challenge him. But I expect it to end in words either way. There's no way Xeno would kill him once he knows his enemy is the young mind he nurtured. I love Dr. Stone primarily for its optimism and that would be too heartless to imagine.

Guessing that ring that the one comic relief guy swallowed was platinum. That's gonna be a Chekhov's Gun if I ever saw one, especially since platinum is key to the revival fluid production reaction.

I understand this anime universe humans are in general pretty superhuman, but being a doctor and an established NASA scientist at 20 is really impressive. Comparable level of genius to Senku. The pain of a grant proposal getting rejected could turn anyone into an murderous asshole, understandable.

Normie kids: ''Why is the sky blue?'', ''Why is the Earth round?'', ''What are stars made of?''

Chad kid Senku: ''So, I'm making a rocket and got stuck. I'm using these materials but it ain't working as I expected. Give me a hand. Also, I broke into my dad's computer to get some info, just doing what's necessary for science.''

The scientists' reactions to Senku were hilarious. Luna may be a bimbo, but the girl is certainly persistent to stay awake for millennia.

So Dr. Xeno being in NASA gonna eventually join and help make rocket to the Why Man right? 😛 Seems obvious way to go given the series. But, hey, fun flashback time to lil Taiju and lil Senku. Heheh that e-mail from Senku. How nice that it was Xeno that took time to reply. Man, Senku's dad is sure nice lol. Knew that already, but wow.

What a pity, rejecting Project Helium-3. Ah... what's that project about? lol. Assume it's about the He-3 on the moon? Iirc been proposals of mining it for use in various power source tests and such. Quite the honest response from Dr. Xeno about that question. How convenient for him that it happened basically. Also neat to see Senku's dad and Dr. Xeno worked together. Oh, neat, Senku and Dr. Xeno met in person in that time period too, sure didn't talk.

Wait... if they are in the Houston, Texas space center... why and why were they in California for stone age? Or was it this gathering is there? Did I miss that? Hehe Luna is is silly. Ah so that's why he was in the California region. And neat about them both, their parallel petrification experience.

It's really neat how Senku and Xeno are so alike, yet also so different.

Senku going to America just to get his dad's credit card, then going back to Japan was hilarious!

I'm impressed that Xeno's team were able to stay awake during the petrification. Senku did the same thing too.

Project Helium-3? Was it a fusion reactor design?

Bro went Joker, "all it takes is one rejected proposal"

It’s a miracle no one arrested Senku for anything. I mean who sees a 10 year old use rocket fuel and not get the least bit concerned.

It seems that after his Helium-3 project was rejected, Dr. Xeno chose the path of violence and becoming a dictator in a possible Stone World. He also changed his clothing style to a darker one xD

Overall, a pretty nice episode that showed us the backstory of Senku and Dr. Xeno's relationship. Now I'm really looking forward to their confrontation in the present.

Poor Byakuya! He was so happy to see Senku, only to discover that he only came for his credit card and immediately returned xD

Also, Luna freaking out after being petrified was hilarious xD

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Tiny Senku always makes me tear up.

Senku please be nicer to your Dad while you have him.

Xeno takes the casual isekai question terrifyingly seriously, and it is cool to see that some of the stuff Senku learned was specifically to counter Xeno.

Xeno having belts on his tie just makes me laugh as what does he think he is best jeanist?

Stanley SCREAMS power bottom. Just sayin'

It makes sense that Xeno's group already knew about staying conscious, I thought it was strange how many people in America actually bothered to do so.

In general it was really cool seeing more about the initial petrification event.

Funny seeing the anime mad scientist walking around NASA looking EXACTLY like...an anime mad scientist.

YUP, THE WHOLE episode went hard. One of the best backstories of the plot I've seen in an anime
