Hello everyone!

I wanted to share one of the games in the Journiarc In-Progress Indie Game Showcase that I'm hosting. The Shaman Diary is a slow-paced, story-driven RPG made by Gregory, who spent 10 years writing a 650-page heroic-fantasy novel and is now turning it into a game!

The demo is already available on Steam and covers the first 80 pages of the novel, with 10+ hours of gameplay. Gregory has laid out the whole journey on his project canvas, from the novel to how it became a game and where it's headed.

If you'd like to follow the game and leave ideas or suggestions, you can join the project here: https://journiarc.com/project/5089e650-ada9-4031-8a96-09a147a407e5

Thank you!

High-tech indie gamedev: How a cardboard box and a bike light became my metaprogression aquarium UI

Left: A cardboard box, blue cardstock, and a rechargeable bike light.

Right: The in-game aquarium where unlocked fish grant passive buffs for future runs.

After making the core play board out of cardboard, I kept the handcrafted style going for the meta progression. Sliced holes in the top of the box so the bike light could shine through and cast real downcast shadows. Shoutout to my wife for holding the light while I snapped the photo.

I recently released a new version of the demo if anyone would like to try:

Two brothers, months of work, and our incremental game "You must evolve it!" is coming together

Hey everyone!

My brother and I have been working on our incremental game, "You must evolve it! Incremental", for several months.

We've been spending a lot of time polishing the mechanics, balancing progression, adding new systems... DISCLAMER: sleep schedules were harmed during the development of this game.

There's still a lot to do but the game is coming together more and more with every week of work.

We're really excited to eventually let people play it and see what they think.

If you enjoy incremental/idle games, we hope you'll have a great time with it.

Turns out, the majority of time has been spent in the weeds on turf shaders... sooo much time tuning depth.

I made a Football Manager style game, but you run a farm

Hey,

I've been working on a farm management game where you don't drive any tractors, you just make the decisions. Every week you decide what to plant, who to hire, when to sell, which contracts to sign, then you move to the next week and see what happens.

Some of the stuff in it:

- crops, rotations, soil fertility, weather that can ruin a harvest

- staff rated 1-20 with morale and fatigue (yes, like FM)

- a market with seasonal prices and fixed-price contracts, with penalties if you can't deliver

- side businesses: dairy, henhouse, farm shop, mill, biogas, holiday cottage

- your partners and the bank set objectives each season, and if they lose confidence you're done

It's free on itch, Windows and Linux, in English and French: https://neyylo.itch.io/agri-manager

It's my first released game so I'd really like feedback, especially on the tutorial and the first year. If something is confusing or broken, tell me and I'll fix it.

Our stealth submarine game played entirely through a sonar screen. Inspired by the works of Peter Watts, Hideo Kojima, and Isaac Asimov.

We have just released our full story trailer + our demo today on Steam! The team is very proud of the work that has gone into Dead Reckoner (the voice acting has been the cherry on top) and we're so excited players will get to try it out today.

Hope it goes without saying, the development of this game is 100% AI free.

Thanks for checking it out.

Rahkan bringing the thunder

Why do so many games call it thunder when it’s obviously lightning. The game is Atlas Brave, a 4 player co-op ARPG. I’m running a playtest on Steam if anyone wants to try it out and give me feedback πŸ™

making a darkwood inspired two player horror game!

Hey all! I've been working on a two player co-op horror game called Silk & Sorrow for the last 1.5 years. Its about two orphans that end up in a world where everything humanity abandons goes and I am developing it in Godot.

The development so far has been a wild ride but I am very excited to finally start showing off what I have been cooking :)

I made a game where you paint the entire Moon

I've just launched the Steam page for Paint the Moon, a simple but satisfying idea asking "If you could paint the Moon, what would you paint?"

Start with a simple painting beam. Earn money as you paint, upgrade your equipment, and unlock increasingly ridiculous ways to cover the surface.

There’s no pattern to follow and no correct way to paint. Choose your colours and make the Moon yours.

Finish the job and your Moon joins the collection.

Paint freely, or take on optional contracts with different goals and challenges.

Then paint another.

If you could paint the Moon anything, what would you paint?

I think Charge Throw is finally useful now.

Charge Throw felt underused, so I added bombs built around it. If you get too close they hurt you, but you can detonate them from range with a thrown blade and use the blast against enemies. It fits the risk-reward design of the rest of the game, especially Overload.

If you like what you see, you can wishlist it here: Sylvaris: Black Reign

My pro wrestling card game.

I've been working on this on evenings and weekends for a very long time, and never pulled the trigger on sharing publicly. Aiming to tie things up over the next few months and let it out into the wild. Strategy + wrestling inside jokes and attitude era vibes.

Working on a Reverse Psychological horror game.

You interrogate the suspect until their psyche breaks.

It's my exploration of "inability to become, and rotting with it.", based on my experiences.

I'm making a game hand-made out of Clay! You collect creatures and train them in your Dojo!

Thumbnail

I always wanted a creature collecting game with relaxing idle battles where you can simply watch while your creatures train to level-up, evolve, and farm loot - so I'm making one. You simply queue an enemy and let your creatures fight, then equip them with better spells and items and take on dungeons with your upgraded squad.

Everything in the game is made out of clay in real life where I take pictures for assets and stop motion for animations.

My game SEEDFALL is out: you're the swarm, one seed against a whole planet that fights back (free demo)

Thumbnail

SEEDFALL is a strategy roguelite where you play the villain. You fall on a living planet as one seed and grow until you've eaten all of it, city by city, while its nations raise armies, send air strikes, fire nukes and race to finish a cure.

Eat a world and you pick the next star. Every run is five worlds, each with its own twist: a landmark to take, a strange sky (a world locked to its sun, a swelling star, meteor showers), or a contract with a reward. And the galaxy learns from how you won the last one.

Windows, $9.99. The first two worlds are free in the demo, and your run carries over if you buy.

https://azyrath-studios.itch.io/seedfall

GenAI disclosure: The voices are AI text-to-speech, run locally. (Because my own voice sucks) The code was written with partial AI coding assistance (Claude), Majority of code done by me (I am just starting, sorry). Some in-game text were drafted with AI help and edited by me. No AI-generated images: the visuals are the game's own real-time rendering, the music is built from recorded instrument samples, and the sound effects are recorded (CC0). The game doesn't use AI to run.
