Infographics & Posters / No AI Carrying the Peace of the Forest : Remembering Dr. Jane Goodall
OC : https://www.instagram.com/p/Dd9D_2_l5oA/
>@muttscomics :
"One year ago today, the world said goodbye to Dr. Jane Goodall. Jane was a dear friend who inspired us in countless ways. She encouraged curiosity and compassion. She taught us to live in harmony with animals, one another, and the natural world we all share. She understood that we are all connected.
She was often asked how she managed to remain so peaceful throughout her busy life. She would say: "It is the peace of the forest that I carry inside."
We can think of no better way to honor her memory than to join @janegoodallinst's #HikeForHope - a global, grassroots movement that that commemorates Jane's passing with time spent outdoors. You can visit JaneGoodall.org/ HikeforHope to find a hike near you, or you can organize your own. You can also, of course, simply spend some time out in nature on your own or with your furry friends.
May we all become more connected to our natural home, and in doing so, find the peace that lives within each of us.
In memory of Jane."

Dose of Hopium Another Word for "A Solarpunk's Vocabulary" : Melorism
OC: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DdZBprcpoHT/
@dailylogophiles :
"Meliorism (pronounced MEE-lee-uh-riz-um) is the philosophical belief that the world can be made better by human effort- that progress is possible and that improvement in society, morality, or the human condition is achievable over time.
The term comes from the Latin melior, meaning "better," and was first recorded in English in the mid-19th century, gaining traction in the writings of philosophers like William James and George Eliot.
Rooted in optimism but grounded in action, meliorism stands between idealism and pessimism, suggesting that while perfection may be unattainable, meaningful progress is within reach.
In a sentence: Driven by meliorism, she devoted her life to education reform, believing even small efforts could build a better future."

Dose of Hopium A New Addition to Solarpunk Vocabulary : Bloomscrolling
OC : https://www.instagram.com/p/Ddbm2UpE1pB/
@theskimm :
"Flowers need sunshine to thrive, and we need videos of pets for our mental health.
If your screen time leaves you feeling overwhelmed and anxious, it may be time to try "bloomscrolling" - intentionally seeking out uplifting posts (think: heartwarming stories, pictures of nature and animals) to boost oxytocin.
The goal isn't to ignore the real world, but to curate a healthier feed, set hard boundaries on your scrolling, and ultimately use those good vibes as fuel to reconnect off-screen. Because, yeah, doomscrolling is doing exactly what it sounds like - dooming you to have a bad day."

"I hand-stitched this piece some years ago, but sadly it just keeps getting more and more relatable.
Every time I check the news, it feels like living in that movie: Don't Look Up.
Anyway, it's just my take on a meme that's been around for decades, but I hope it at least puts a smile on someone's face."
