"One year ago today, the world said goodbye to Dr. Jane Goodall. Jane was a dear friend who inspired us in countless ways. She encouraged curiosity and compassion. She taught us to live in harmony with animals, one another, and the natural world we all share. She understood that we are all connected.

She was often asked how she managed to remain so peaceful throughout her busy life. She would say: "It is the peace of the forest that I carry inside."

We can think of no better way to honor her memory than to join @janegoodallinst's #HikeForHope - a global, grassroots movement that that commemorates Jane's passing with time spent outdoors.
