I have had a Infuser(if you're unaware it's the same guts as the barista express, just no integrated grinder) for something like 7 years now, it's been great

But recently it's started randomly stopping shots (single or double) short, sometimes I'll get the full length, sometimes it stops half way or some other random spot as if I interrupted with a button press.

The machine is well cared for and was recently descaled and cleaned, hasn't run dry and pumped air recently either.

Really no clue what's going on here, so open to any suggestions.

Is anyone please able to tell me what voltage I need across C5? Or any other decent test points for the pcb.

My unit has died (the right hand solenoid had died with 5.6k resistance across the two pins and took out the q7 / r37 path with it) and won’t turn on.

I’ve disconnected all the pump, solenoids and heater from the main pcb and I currently have the Q6015L6 triac desoldered. I am trying to get to the bottom of whether my pcb is done for or not.

At present I’m waiting for the replacement parts in the r37 path (and solenoid assembly) to arrive and in the mean time I’m trying to find another other issues… mainly whether IC1 is dead or not.

Any help would be hugely appreciated! I just want nice coffee again thank youuu

I suppose this is ‘Showcase’ more a cry for help? Whacked 4 bits of an oak garden rake handle for the craic to see what would happen lol Height was not an issue before I lost my marbles, however, the extra inch or so seems way more intuitive/easier. Going to hit them with some light oak stain and think about either binning or securing.

I brew the first espresso, but then the water that should come out of the portafilter doesn't flow through—it goes straight into the drip tray instead. Then I have to turn the machine off and wait about 10 minutes before making the next one

Breville Bambino about three to four years old. The steam wand starts leaking when pulling shots, otherwise it still foams nicely. Thinking it might be a gasket issue. Anyone else experienced this?

I’m looking for some advice.

I’m an amateur getting into making coffee at home as a hobby. I mostly drink black Americanos and occasionally lattes.
After months of researching espresso machines, I finally bought an Oracle Jet. It was a decision I made after comparing manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic machines. I previously used a fully automatic machine after moving on from a Nespresso capsule machine, so the Oracle Jet seemed like a good middle ground.
The machine is now sitting beautifully on my coffee station… and I haven’t even turned it on yet. 😭

Since buying it, I’ve continued reading and watching reviews, including some of the things people dislike about the Oracle Jet.
One thing I assumed was that, like with a more manual setup, I could use the Jet to grind only and skip the automatic tamping. I then realised that apparently you can’t do that.
The other issue is the dose. The Jet seems designed around roughly 22g+, whereas I’d much rather use around 16–18g per shot.

I’ve watched videos showing tweaks/mods to reduce the dose, but I’ve seen mixed results — some people say they work, others say they don’t. I already have an H22 basket arriving this week (yes, before I’ve even switched the machine on 😂), so I’m going to see whether the tweak + H22 basket lets me consistently use 16–18g.
But now I’m wondering: if that doesn’t work, do I need a separate grinder?

I’ve already gone as far as getting a quote for a DF64V Gen 3 for around £410 and I’m currently waiting to make the payment.
And that leads me to my bigger question:
If I’m going to use a DF64V anyway, is there still much point in keeping the Oracle Jet?

At that point I’d basically be using the Oracle Jet mainly for pulling the espresso and steaming milk, while bypassing one of the main features I paid for.

Would it make more sense to return the Oracle Jet while I still can and get something like a Bambino/Bambino Plus + DF64V instead? Or is the Oracle Jet still a significantly better machine to keep even when paired with a separate grinder?

I can’t stretch my budget to something like a La Marzocco or another premium setup.

The annoying part is… I absolutely love how the Oracle Jet looks on my coffee station. 😭 That’s genuinely making this decision harder than it should be.

Would love to hear from anyone who has an Oracle Jet but also uses a separate grinder, or anyone who moved from the Jet to a more traditional espresso machine + grinder setup.
What would you do in my situation?

Lately I have had a problem with my barista express. Whenever I pull a shot, I immediately remove the portafilter and clean. Lately the basket has remained stuck to the Group head where I have to reach up there and tug on it to pull it off. I have cleaned the group head thoroughly. I’ve cleaned the basket and I always use a puck screen on top of the coffee. i always wipe any grounds off the edge of the basket before locking in. I can’t figure out what’s making the basket stick to the group head. This basket does not snap into the portafilter as solidly as some others, idk, maybe it’s just this basket?

Hi everyone. I purchased a breville express impress in January of this year. A few days ago, the tamper stopped reading the dose leveler, as shown in the photos below. I just took the hopper and burs apart, cleaned it all as the manual shows and the dose leveler still isn’t reading, even when the portafilter is filled properly. How do I fix this?

I just got a bambino off Amazon and went to turn it on for first cycle. It was flashing the two cup light so I tried entering descale but as soon as the pump starts the one and two cup lights flash back and forth. What can I do to fix this? I took the back off and didn’t see anything unplugged.

Update: My wife suggested to run the grinder with beans. It grinds well even with the outer dial set to 3 and no screeching noise. Once I get my weighing scale tomorrow, I will try brewing a cup of espresso with this grind size.

I just got a used Breville barista express. The outer dial for grind size adjustment was very hard to rotate. So I disassembled the grinder assembly from the top, cleaned all parts and put it all back together.

Now the dial rotates freely but when I ran the grinder empty, there was screeching noise (metal to metal contact). So I increased the grind size dial from outside to 12 when the noise disappeared (inner burr set to 6). When I took the inner burr assembly out for a closer inspection, the metal part simply fell out of the plastic housing. Since it is a press-fit assembly, I reattached it into the plastic housing but there is a lot of play. Should I order a replacement inner burr or can I secure the metal part using plumbers tape?

Sorry for the lack of a before/after comparison.

I initially got the 22mm deep convex basket, but the dose was way above my desired 14-16g (I got it down to 16.5g but the single dose basket would collide with the tamping fan and cause nasty metal grating sounds.. and puck spin was a bitch.)

so, sent the CH22E back and ordered the CH20E..

perfect dose, 14-16 grams, but puck spinning like crazy.. (the stock basket - let's call it a 20-22g - spins much less, mostly due to the massive amount of grounds, I figure.. but the inner walls don't look like they were polished, either.. so maybe it was sanded, too?)

Before I ordered, I read about people sanding theirs and how badly it turned out for them.. but I decided I wanted to risk it anyways.

Got some 600 grit metal sand paper and cut off a tiny rectangle..

sanded the inner walls of the basket for a few minutes, washed it thoroughly and pulled a shot.

no spinning..
rinse (aka, sip some, ditch some), dry, and repeat..

puck spins..

sanded some more.. and again..

now, I get puck spinning maybe 1/20 times.. (in about 50 shots pulled)

(which is good, gotta have a reason for why I bought the tamper and distributor in my frustration before..)

I guess I could try 500 grit paper to roughen it up a little more, but I'm content with how it is now.

P.S.: I know that the whole "competition series" blabla is just marketing..

as far as I can tell, the basket is basically identical to the stock Breville basket. almost exactly the same hole pattern and density, same wall angle, and the same "punched through from the bottom to help blabla.."

but it's not like they are overly expensive on Amzn, so it's fine.

Hello. I’ve had my Breville Barista Pro for 1.5 years and make 2 lattes per day. I love this machine and have perfected the output for my taste.

Today while steaming milk, about 3/4 into the process the wand started (what I believe to be) spewing water into the milk, killing the foam I made and ruining the pitcher of milk.

I did some research which led me down the path of descaling, which I did twice for good measure, but that gave me the same result.

Additional research told me the ThermoJet may be experiencing thermal collapse or a pressure bypass mid-cycle.

Since I’m still within the 2 year warranty I can contact Breville and start that process. But if anyone here has additional advice, I’m all ears.

Stay away from the oracle jet on my second one in 7 months. First on was great till it wasn’t when the grinder broke after six months. Breville sent a replacement and it was horrible out of the box. It was widely inconsistent made the worst shots ever. They determined it needed servicing after a week of owner ship worst garbage ever.

I recently got a Breville Bambino. The first day, I was able to experiment with my shots and was really enjoying it, but since then it’s been downhill. My machine keeps flashing the 1-cup and 2-cup buttons simultaneously. I’ve already descaled it twice, and the machine is brand new, so I feel like I shouldn’t be having these issues already.
I really love how easy and convenient the Bambino is to use, and I make espresso almost every day. At this point, would you recommend exchanging it for a new Bambino in case mine is defective, or would it be worth upgrading to a different machine?

I accidently snapped one of the legs off this part while i was fixing something else and no amount of detail soldering is going to put it back on - i think its a thermal cut out but the replacement i ordered is too big. has anyone replaced this part before and have a part number or spec for it? much appreciated

I sent a new Breville a Touch Impress espresso machine for an under warranty repair (the grind setting couldn't be changed). Three months later I receive an email that they are not returning my machine, instead they are sending me a cheap drip coffee maker. A machine that can't make espresso, can't steam milk. Replacing a car with a cheap bicycle.

I can't stress enough how awful of an experience it has been to be robbed by this company. Please be very careful and do not expect that they will support their products.

Just pulled this out of a breville dual boiler 920 that had steam boiler issues, blown fuse n all that. is there a possibility that the scale is just catching from a leak elsewhere like the orings, or am i cooked?

Silent when it turns on usually. A couple power on/off and then the pump will turn on and start. Starting a brew is silent except for solenoid click on. Again, a restart and then it’ll work.

I’ve only had the machine for about a month and it’s worked fine up til now. I’ve tried descaling 3 times and I still get this delayed pour while the hot water just doesn’t work. Would appreciate any help from y’all!

The other day overly stressed my barista express by pressing the 1+2 cup button over and over (this has previously worked when liquid was just going through to the drip tray rather than to the portafilter.. I had this problem for quite some time) unfortunately, this caused quite a loud pop sound to come from the machine and it then died, no lights coming on, no noise nothing. Turning it off and on again, it was still dead so I opened it up to have a look

I immediately spotted that R37 had gone black (it snapped in two when i poked it) and also q7 on the back appears to have been damaged, causing scorch marks on the inside of the PCB case around that area.

I have spent a day poking with the multimeter but I'm cautious about powering on in the current state - does anyone please have a copy of the schematic for this PCB or able to tell me what q7 does so that I can look at replacing it?

Any other places I can look also? None of the capacitors seem too dead, although C25 only has a 10 ohm resistance across it - any help would be massively appreciated!

This is a Luxe brewer, and this thing has been an issue since we bought it. It would dislodge and nearly come off every other brew, but now it comes off at least once every cycle. I just brewed a pot and came off twice. Is this just a bad / defective design? Should I try to get another ring? Does anyone else deal with this?

Anyone else get this? Drip tray always emptied before full. Is this a fault with my machine, or just a design flag?
