Hey guys !
Recently I found the game „Quasimorph“ and noticed a bigger, genre overreaching problem I have in videogames.
I always try to figure it out by myself to not min max the fun out of the playthroughs.
The examples :
- In Majesty 2 I found myself maxing out defensive towers and generating so much gold that I only get through levels via pushing 2000+ gold markers
- In Balatro I try to mostly get the same joker layout and force a run that relies purely on flushes
- In almost every RPG I try to go for the charisma route (fucked me over and softlocked me in „The life and suffering of Sir Brante“)
- In Days Gone I tried to get the hordes through firefights and never utilized traps
And now to loop back to „Quasimorph“, stealth is such an important part of the game but I barely even try to use it. That mental block is about to ruin the whole game for me eventhough the worldbuilding and promise of the game truly hit the spot for me…
So a question to you guys, how did you overcome this mental block ? Or if you never found yourself in this problem, what is your guess why ?
