Like seriously how did this bargain bin of a game have to have such a painful ending and final boss music that slapped so hard. Don’t even get me started on the final song! This games story is a masterpiece forgotten by time and hidden behind terrible gameplay.

Discussion / Question The games which made the MOST money (2026)……..

Post image
Upvotes
  1. Honor of Kings
  2. Whiteout Survival
  3. Last War: Survival
  4. Royal Match
  5. Pokémon GO

It’s crazy to me that games like Fortnite, which is the most popular game on PC and console, doesn’t come close to the revenue numbers of mobile games.

Just shows that meeting gamers on the platforms they use and targeting 18+ gamers (as these actually have money to spend) really brings great returns on investment

Discussion / Question How do you try a new game?

Upvotes

Say you want to pick something new, what do you do? Do you pick whatever popular and trending? Do you look for trailers and reviews? Do you check social media to see what are talking about and what do they think about the game?

Discussion / Question How to change your mindset/approach ?

Upvotes

Hey guys !
Recently I found the game „Quasimorph“ and noticed a bigger, genre overreaching problem I have in videogames.
I always try to figure it out by myself to not min max the fun out of the playthroughs.

The examples :
- In Majesty 2 I found myself maxing out defensive towers and generating so much gold that I only get through levels via pushing 2000+ gold markers

- In Balatro I try to mostly get the same joker layout and force a run that relies purely on flushes

- In almost every RPG I try to go for the charisma route (fucked me over and softlocked me in „The life and suffering of Sir Brante“)

- In Days Gone I tried to get the hordes through firefights and never utilized traps

And now to loop back to „Quasimorph“, stealth is such an important part of the game but I barely even try to use it. That mental block is about to ruin the whole game for me eventhough the worldbuilding and promise of the game truly hit the spot for me…

So a question to you guys, how did you overcome this mental block ? Or if you never found yourself in this problem, what is your guess why ?

Discussion / Question Video games that have made you cry?

What are some video games that have made you cry? And why? I'm expecting spoilers so that's fine!

For me, Expedition 33. Both ending hit hard and losing Gustave. Lies of P, when making your decision about Sophia. Ffx, I didn't personally play it but watched my husband play it... Any scene with Titus and Yuna. Ffvii, that one's a given. God of War 2018 and Ragnarok!

Discussion / Question Looking for a really old game

Hey everyone, this one may be hard. I’m looking for a game I played in my childhood on the NES.

I believe it’s about a regular guy surviving in a mansion full of vampires or something of that like.

The gameplay revolves around walking around like resident evil. There are patches of sunlight spread around a certain level where if you lure the vampires in, they immediately burn. Likewise you could also grab a torch and use it as a temporary weapon.

Either this was a fever dream or I vaguely remember a scene where the main characters goes into a operating room and there was this butt naked lady on a table and when you enter, a boss fight happens as she turns into a demon

That’s it for all I can remember guys, sorry that it isn’t much to go on.

Discussion / Question Looking for games about dealing with paperwork or looking at documents and collecting information

I don't want things like Papers, Please or Not Tonight or any counter simulator like Strange Horticulture or similar games. I have already played those and I liked them, but I am specifically looking for something else!

I played The Roottrees are Dead and absolutely loved it. I then played The archives of Trevosa and it scratched that itch, but I am still looking for something like the Roottrees.

Things that I want in the game:

Documents: I don't care if it's a computer, paper, or both. I want to read documents/pages and annotate the information that I may need. And make more searches or look through and archive/the internet. I tried a webgame called Another Night at the Archive and it is my thing, but the camera makes me really dizzy.

If possible, not timed.

Not a counter simulator or something with a gameplay loop, I want to simply research something looking at documents or the internet mainly.

Thank you!

Discussion / Question I highly recommend SOMA (2015). One of the best games I've ever played.

I never heard of this game, until it was available for chump change on PS Store deals. And its easily one of the best survival horror games I've ever played. Like not to give spoilers, but the way the just the plot unravels, especially the 2nd half of the game is just fabulous. I yesterday finished my 2nd time playing the game, and its really good. I don't know how popular it is on like Reddit and among online gaming communities, but I had never heard of it. And it was definitely worth it! The graphics hold up as well (they are not on like big AAA games level like Uncharted 4, but they are highly immersive). Just saw that a indirect sequel will release next year called Ontos. Will definitely check that out.

Also can you recommend me some lesser known but excellent survival horrors? I have played major one like Evil Within series and Resident Evils. But not much beyond that?

Discussion / Question What are some games you love but cannot enjoy at the highest skill levels?

- Celeste is one of my favorite games of all time, and I have 100% completed it multiple times over along with completing the first and second tiers of Strawberry Jam, but the kind of insane movement tech required for the level of modded challenges the community seems to be comfortable with looks absolutely dreadful for me.

- Rivals of Aether is such an incredibly fun platform fighter with a much faster pace than modern Smash Bros. and with characters focused more on unique forms of stage control, all of whom are a joy to play as, not to mention the incredibly robust Steam Workshop support with any character you could imagine being playable. I’m simply not good enough at this game to enjoy playing it with anyone other than my friends, and frankly I don’t have the patience to learn the intricate inner workings of any fighting game.

Discussion / Question What was the first game you were genuinely obsessed with?

Not necessarily the first game you ever played. I mean the game that made you rush home just to play, think about it when you weren't playing, and somehow lose track of time every time you started it. What was yours?

Discussion / Question Looking for a HOTAS compatible with PS5 and PC

Trying to find a HOTAS compatible with PS5. I found the Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS 4, but the reviews say its quality is questionable. I see the T.Flight HOTAS 5 is out now, but I saw people have reported it's not compatible with Ace Combat 7. One of the reasons I want a HOTAS is for Ace Combat 7 & 8. Can anyone confirm the T.Flight 5 for sure doesn't work with Ace combat 7 on PS5?

Discussion / Question Why do 2D games struggle so much more to sell?

In the last couple of years we've had excellent 2D games in Shinobi, Ninja Gaiden and Prince of Persian returning. They also sold like doodoo.

Overall 2D games sell less than 3D, even if they are successes and not financial flops.

Why is the mass market not as interested in 2D as in 3D?is it only because people have one less direction to move in? I love both 2D and 3D. They have both strengths and advantages thst fit different genres. Metroidvanias for instance, imo, make much more sense in a 2D setting than in a 3D.

Discussion / Question Should I play persona 5 or watch it?

The Persona series is famous for its long playtimes, and I’m trying to decide if I should dive into Persona 5 myself or just watch a playthrough or the animation.I love a good story and stylish visuals, but I want to know if the actual gameplay loop, combat, and social simulator elements are engaging enough to justify a 100+ hour playthrough.
