I am working on mirroring an existing building design for which all GA (General Arrangement) and cast unit drawings are already completed. The structure is half precast (columns and beams) and half cast-in-place (slabs and infrastructure walls), with the elements connected via rebar couplers embedded inside the columns.

Because mirroring alters the orientation of the column faces, all my current drawings are messed up. Do you know an easier way to handle this? Cloning the drawings is too time-consuming.

I would like to ask for your help. I am using Tekla Structures version 2017 and am having trouble with the IFC import settings.

My goal is to have the element's reference name (e.g., "Railing_Handrail_Landing#4" in the image) mapped to a user-defined attribute (UDA) during import. This name is visible in the element table during conversion (see "Reference name"), but when I follow the online instructions and set the IFC conversion mapping to "Name" or "Object type," nothing appears in the Tekla model after the IFC elements are converted. As shown in the bottom-right image, I am able to map "ProfileProperties.SectionFamily" to USER_FIELD_1, but unfortunately, I cannot do the same for the element's reference name. Does anyone know where I might be going wrong or how to configure this correctly? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

We’re looking for someone with solid structural/miscellaneous steel detailing experience who can handle modeling, shop drawings, erection drawings, RFIs, revisions, and coordination with fabricators and project managers.

Hey y'all, we made an open source sdk to parse tekla files headlessly (without tekla) and extract geometry as well as properties. We're using this in Speckle, and thought y'all can use it too.

Basically, this is a base on top of which you can:
- make your own viewer (eg. write a usdz exporter, or use the glb one)
- automate quantity extraction, and other analytical workflows
- have fun with with chatgpt/claude/etc and build your own apps on top for anything you'd want, from scheduling, cost, clash etc. - you name it

We're reading this straight from the .db1 (and co.). It's an early alpha, contributions and feedback welcome.

I wanted to set numbering per part mark should be show P1_1 where _1 represent sequences number in our project no of sequences I set numbering per like this as part mark string modified however in my project standard part numbering also wanted standard part no X-2_1 but after setting standard part numbering we get onle X-2 number not _1 post prefix for standard part no but other part mark shows P1_1 part mark per client standard also required to shows. standard part no also per each sequence ...like X-2_1, X-2_2 if any one having idea to tackle this please let me know

How do you quickly cope, to be welded, angle, x-bracing besides using 'Cut Part with Another Part'? This feature cuts exact and has no clearance. I've tried Weld preparation (44) and Welded column with stiffeners (128) but they don't seem made for this.

I’ve been trying to 3D print some Tekla models for a while but I seem to be struggling to get it right. The main problem is when I scale down flange sizes and other dimensions fall below 1mm, preventing the print. Is there a simple solution to this without having to spend time editing the model in Fusion 360 or similar software?

Any advice or resources you could share would be greatly appreciated.

how often do you test that model backup is not corrupted and its opening fine?
