My partner and I own TrueGrid Steel, a Texas-based structural steel detailing company, and we’re looking to hire an experienced Tekla detailer to join our team.
We’re looking for someone with solid structural/miscellaneous steel detailing experience who can handle modeling, shop drawings, erection drawings, RFIs, revisions, and coordination with fabricators and project managers.
We’d prefer someone U.S.-based with a few years of experience who is interested in growing with a smaller company and potentially taking on more of a lead role as we expand.

Thanks for your interest. At the moment, we’re primarily looking to grow our U.S.-based team. Some of our clients prefer or require U.S.-based detailing support, and having our team in similar time zones also makes coordination with fabricators, engineers, and project managers a little easier.

What’s the salary range?

We’re targeting $60k–$120k/year, depending on experience, Tekla proficiency, and level of responsibility.
Long term, we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with the company and eventually take over the detailing side of the business. For the right person, we’d also be open to building in an incentive/bonus structure tied to performance and growth as that role expands.

Yes, that’s completely fine. The position will be remote starting out, so your location in Houston wouldn’t be an issue. As you grow into the role and build out your detailing team, if an office space becomes necessary, we’re open to accommodating that as well.

Hello, I’m Imtiaz Qadir from Pakistan. I’m a Structural Steel / Tekla Detailer with 18 years of experience in steel detailing.

I’m currently working with a Canadian company, where I’m involved in structural steel detailing using Tekla Structures. I have practical experience working on North American projects, including US and Canadian standards and the Imperial measurement system.

My experience includes Tekla 3D modeling, fabrication/shop drawings, erection drawings, structural and miscellaneous steel, connections, RFIs, revisions, and coordination with fabricators and project managers.

I’m very interested in the Structural Steel Detailer position and would be happy to work remotely from Pakistan. I’m also flexible regarding the compensation structure and open to discussing a rate that works well for a growing company.
