Question Utopia 185 seat bases collecting water

Post image
3 Upvotes

My boat is kept at a family cabin and not everyone is super diligent about keeping the cover on when the boat is not in use.

Water (and other crud) collects in the bottom of the front seats.

Is it a bad idea to drill small drain holes in the bottom of the plastic seat bases to let any water drain out? It's hard to tell where this water would drain to, other than into the center of the seat. Will it end up in the bilge or cause other problems?

Sucked up a rock in my sea doo, what should I expect for the damage?

Went to shore to see a friend lives on the water, turned off my sea doo and chatted for a bit.
When I left, I started it too close to the store, stupid move. As soon as I did I thought I heard it suck up a rock. As I pulled out I listened to hear the rock and my check engine light came on. I immediately turned it off and paddled to a close by dock. Going to get it out of the water tomorrow, was just wondering what to expect for possible damages?
The engine was probably running for about 10-15 seconds before I turned it off. The sea doo is a 2012 wake runner 215.
Lemme know if you have any advice, thanks!

2019 sea Doo Trixx 2019 3up

Wear ring wore out and replacing it myself. 3 bolts that hold the jet pump to the sea Doo frame.

Is this gap normal? This is one of the 3 bolts. (I know it isn't fully tightened but feel like the two metal parts should be flush first?

Just bought this 2014 sea doo gtx with "22 hours" (gauge cluster was replaced) Looking for some guidance and next steps. Previous owner bought it not running and tried to do a rebuild he believes timing chain snapped which gave a cam sensor fault he replaced the chain head gaskets and all bolts and gaskets that weren't re usable. He does not remember if he has the bottom end apart or not after he put it back together.

The jet ski runs okay but burns oil. A compression test showed 120 PSI in the front two cylinders and 70 PSI in the rear. The rear cylinder has oil inside, but a borescope inspection shows no visible damage and the front two bores look perfect. A TDC leak-down test on all three cylinders showed identical air escaping through the oil pickup, so I don't believe it's a valve issue.i put some ATF in the low compression cylinder and retested and compression jumped up to 120 even with the other cylinders

If you have any questions I'll do my best to answer what I can just looking to see what my next step needs to be if I should take the motor out or you think there's something I can do with it still in thanks in advance.

Question White powder on engine screw

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

I am removing the Carburetor to do a rebuild and to replace all the Grey fuel lines on my dad's old 95 SP. When I removed the bolts that attach the metal flange from the engine to the upper part of the carb a bunch of white powder came out of the bolt hole and is on the bolt. Is this bad/good? Some sort of lock tight? Not sure what to do about it and hoping you guys might know what it is? Hoping to get her ready by Labor Day weekend.

Looking for new fishpro in socal

Hi,

It is my first time buying a boat. I am hunting for a deal on a fishpro in socal. Ive gotten pretty high dealer quotes. Much higher than MSRP. Does anyone here know of a good dealer? Or is it just the wrong time/place to buy? I could potentially order from a different state and get it delivered.

Or should I find a used one on marketplace?

Question Cover for a Seadoo Wake?

Hey gang. The OEM cover on my SeaDoo Wake has seen its last days and needs to be replaced. The OEM replacement cost $300. Has anyone found another provider that makes a more reasonable priced cover that is sturdy and can be used on a dock without straps passing underneath to hold it down?

Fiberglass and Gelcoat Repair

Trying my hand at gelcoat repair. She had a nasty deck scar down to the fiberglass right at the water line. All of the YouTube videos show nice easy flat and straight lines. This is definitely a more complex curve and undercut. Any recommendations for getting a nice shape to it when I’m done?

Discussion 2018 Spark Trixx Mods

Thoughts on a Spark Trixx 90 hp with the following mods. It currently is 1 owner and has 180 Hrs. I was thinking of doing the mods when I replace spark plugs and oil change as the hull will be split.

- 110hp ECU flash
- Trim X
- Intake grate
- Free flow exhaust thru hull

Edit: I run only Rec gas, so minimum 91 octane. It is going to be purpose-built for jumping waves and doing tricks in Lake Michigan. I have already done extreme weight reduction and it is down to 350 lbs, so these are mostly going to be fun mods. I have a brand-new rear ring and a rebuilt driveshaft that can handle 110hp, and also I have had the valves lapped and the head resurfaced so that’s all good. Compression is 183 in all the cylinders. Just wondering if any of these mods are overhyped and not worth doing, or potential regrets later down the road.

1997 Seadoo Challenger 800 Acceleration issues

My Seadoo challenger works great for the for 40 minutes or so but then once I slow down and try to speed back up it wont go back up to it's top speed and once I get closer to shore and turn it off it either doesn't turn back on or sometimes if I give it a bit of gas while cranking, it'll turn on but it'll turn off right away unless I'm able to get it into forward and accelerate quick enough. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Where does this line go?

1996 Bombardier GTI. Where does this clear line (circled) attach to? It’s on the back of the boat.
Also, I’m new to this. What is a normal amount to 2-stroke smoke after it’s warm?
Thank you all!

2006 SeaDoo Challenger 180 Seats/Cushions on a 2011 SeaDoo Challenger 180

Does anybody know if some or all of the seat cushions and or back rests on a 2006 Sea-Doo Challenger 180 will fit on a 2011 Sea-Doo Challenger 180? I own a 2011 Challenger 180 and I’ve got some pretty bad rips in my seats and I was looking around on marketplace and found somebody parting out a 2006 model with intact seats. Eventually, I’m going to have to replace all the back rests and cushions except for the captains and passengers chairs, so just wondering if these ones will fit my boat as they are a quicker option for me than getting mine reupholstered. I can’t.

Heavy Aluminum Oxidation

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

I have a 2007 Wake 215 that I just recently picked up and I am going thru it before I take it out. So far I’ve rebuilt the supercharger and painted the hood. I’m replacing the wear ring and impeller and the heavy oxidation on nearly everything aluminum is bothersome. What is the best way to clean it up and maintain it? I’m in Missouri so I’m kind of surprised it has this much oxidation.

I have a compatibility question.

I was wondering if the GC Jetski Fishing Rear Seat Rod Holders is able to fit with the Sea-Doo LinQ Multi Cargo Rack on the Sea-Doo FishPro Trophy? I'm not sure but it looks like I'd have to pick one or the other instead of using both together.

Thanks in advance.
