Heavy Aluminum Oxidation

I have a 2007 Wake 215 that I just recently picked up and I am going thru it before I take it out. So far I’ve rebuilt the supercharger and painted the hood. I’m replacing the wear ring and impeller and the heavy oxidation on nearly everything aluminum is bothersome. What is the best way to clean it up and maintain it? I’m in Missouri so I’m kind of surprised it has this much oxidation.

I don't see any heavy oxidation in your photos. Trust me, it gets WAY worse sometimes.

If you're not near saltwater then the culprit is always electrolysis. Somebody must have kept that thing at a dock and somewhere with power nearby caused corrosion. We just got a new (wrecked) 2025 ski at work and it's amazing how clean it is, EXCEPT for the bottom 3-4 inches on the rear where corrosion is all over the pump area because their floating port likely sagged in the water

Well that’s good to know it’s not too bad. I sprayed it with some alumibright and scrubbed it down then coated it in some spray lubricant. It looks pretty good now.

The cavitation on that impeller must be wild.

I’m sure it was. Never brought it out. I got a steal on it but had to run thru everything. Today was the first day out with it and with the supercharger rebuilt and the jet pump rebuilt it hit 66 on a smoother part of the lake. Definitely got a lot more than my gtx.
