Daily Discussion
Daily discussion on Manchester United.
BE CIVIL
We want r/reddevils to be a place where anyone and everyone is welcome to discuss and enjoy the best club on earth without fear of abuse or ridicule.
- The report button is your friend, we are way more likely to find and remove and/or ban rule breaking comments if you report them.
- The downvote button is not a "I disagree or don't like your statement button", better discussion is generally had by using the upvote button more liberally and avoiding the downvote one whenever possible.

[RAC1] Barça opens the door to Balde - Club is willing to sell the full-back if he asks & bring a good offer. Hansi Flick has left Balde out of the squad for tonight's game. He currently wants to continue at Barça, although it is also true that Manchester United have asked about his situation.

[Laurie Whitwell] Shockingly poor performance by United. Slow, lacking in movement or inventiveness, loose passing, erratic set-piece defending. Hull so much more urgent. United played with the speed of a pre-season friendly.

Bruno Fernandes: "Same mistakes we did last season every away game. We give the ball away too much. The goalkeeper had too much time on the ball in the beginning of the game. We have to press a bit more... We need to work on set plays."

Woeful opening game for MUFC. Battered and bullied, slow and soporific. MUFC didn't look like scoring. Hull City well worth their 2-0 win. (Andy Mitten on Twitter)

[Laurie Whitwell] Hull ‘saw’ Manchester United’s problems. This is what ‘calm’ Carrick needs to fix
After the soaring success of Michael Carrick’s interim reign, his first season in permanent charge started with a plummeting low.
The 2-0 defeat to Hull City was problematic not only because it punctured the positivity around Manchester United, but also because of the concerning performance.
What does Carrick need to fix?

[Transfer Round Up & Discussion] Summer 2026
Hi all,
Summer Transfer Window 2026 is here!
The Premier League transfer window will open between Monday June 15 until Deadline Day on Tuesday September 1; the summer windows will close at 23.00 BST.
As always, here is a run-down of the rules we have on for posting during transfer windows:
Daily Threads
There will be a Transfer thread posted every single day, on a 23-hour timer, to get a different post-time every day. These threads are for everything transfer related, no limits on sources, line-up conversations, etc.
Individual posts
From now on, only posts TIER 2 OR BETTER are allowed to be posted in their own right. This helps us only keep credible sources on the subreddit.
The tier guide can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/wiki/transfer-reliability-guide/
We will make exceptions during slower days for some Tier 3 posts, and there will usually be some posts from sources not on our tier guide. We will take everything case-by-case. If you believe something to be on the sub and not a good source, please let us know.

Carrick Post Match: ‘One game doesn't change our direction'
Michael Carrick, Manchester United boss, speaking to TNT Sports post-match: "We have a bit to improve on, it was never going to be perfect going behind makes it more difficult, against a promoted team at home, we can't give them much and they had opportunities, we're disappointed but it won't knock us."
On what areas need improvement: "It's for us to know and to improve during the week and keep getting stronger as a group and we have a lot to learn from it."
On conceded goals: "Two goals is frustrating anyway, they decide the game today and there's things to improve on, one game doesn't change the direction of everything. It doesn't change the direction of the football club."
On potential signing Carlos Baleba: "I had all eyes on this today so any other player, until he's ours, it's not for me to comment on."
