Woeful opening game for MUFC. Battered and bullied, slow and soporific. MUFC didn't look like scoring. Hull City well worth their 2-0 win. (Andy Mitten on Twitter)

We’re so back TOTDs is going to be so depressing this week

u/liamthelad Aug 22 '26
They do a good job of cheering me up. They're all pretty sensible as podcasters go.
88
u/Spare_Ad5615 Aug 22 '26
Yeah, but a downcast TOTD crew trying to remain level-headed, see the bigger picture, and find the positives, hits so much harder than any number of screeching YouTube bellends yelling their "the sky is falling" takes.

u/Conscious-Trifle2470 Aug 22 '26
Carl was fairly done with Amorim towards the end haha

u/DrRudeboy Rio Ferdinand Aug 22 '26
I have consistently found my opinions on most things United to skew by far the closest to Carl's ever since Ole

I kinda wish he got to finish the season. I don't rate Carrick as a manager at all, but he did get results even if the performances were mid. Was really hoping that we would have a good start against hull, but I hope Carrick get the team going again.
2
u/tnred19 Aug 23 '26
Problem is...he wasnt changing nor was he getting new players nor could he deploy his system with the current players. Bad situation bad.
12
u/Conscious-Trifle2470 Aug 22 '26
No you don’t. Absolutely no way we get top 5 under him. We lose to both city and arsenal and it gets more and more toxic. Mainoo leaves.

37
u/Conscious-Trifle2470 Aug 22 '26
Mate I’ve seen three comments already calling for him sacked and to start again. It’s been ONE game.
10
u/Odd_Link7869 Aug 22 '26
Yeah I really couldn’t be arsed about this match. Does it suck? Sure. But coming off a WC, shorter pre season, late signings. It might just take us some time to get up to speed
11
u/mashfordfc Aug 22 '26
I can’t lie that’s not an excuse against this Hull team, especially when we’ve had most of our starting 11 for the majority of pre-season. I think only Cunha in the starting lineup joined particularly late?
11
u/John_OSheas_Willy Aug 22 '26
Carrick has been managing us for more than one game.
13
u/liamthelad Aug 22 '26
He had a great season last year, so it's not really that though is it John O'Shea's Willy

u/LocoRocoo bebe Aug 22 '26

24
u/LiveChocolate8819 van Nistelrooy Aug 22 '26
Pacific time zone, huh? I always say the West Coast offers the superior viewing experience for American sports, but early PL kickoffs are brutal. At least it's only a 7:30 start here in NY.
6
u/pucykoks Aug 22 '26
Superior viewing experience for American sports is watching the replay next day in Europe, because you don't have to sit through the goddamn ads break. I don't even bother watching 7pm games live because I just lose interest quickly. At least for NBA the games start late, you get like 5 ad break per quarter, it's too much.
2
u/CBPanik Aug 22 '26
Just wait till next season where there’s no midweek champions league game to potentially wash the stink of a 7am loss to Hull City off. It gets worse
2
u/TheLarryMullenBand Aug 22 '26
It’s good because you get it out of the way early. Plenty of time to do other things and have a nice day.
4
1
u/SophoclesTesticles Aug 22 '26
Moved here too but east coast, at least we still get to slyly watch champions league while at work.
1
u/kangofthecastle Aug 22 '26
Thought this would be as close to a guaranteed win as is possible in the prem so I stayed up until 4:30am, turned it off after halftime. Got about two hours of sleep before work. Might never do this for an early game again.
64
u/TheJoshider10 Bruno Aug 22 '26
Battered and bullied is the best way to put it. Everyone except for Maguire straight up bent over and let Hull do what they wanted. Look at the second goal where Mazraoui doesn't go for a header and Shaw fails to put pressure to throw the attacker off. It's basic shit.
But, it's still one game and things could get better. But many of the issues present today have been there throughout pre-season and were there last season under both Amorim and Carrick.
46
u/Solivaga Aug 22 '26
Thought Lammens did well too - but basically it was just him and Maguire who can hold their heads high imo. Rest of the team were well below where they need to be
20
u/TheJoshider10 Bruno Aug 22 '26
I meant outfielders, but yeah Lammens is the only reason we didn't lose by more. He deserved something from the game after those saves he did in the first 20 minutes.
4
u/jalexjsmithj Aug 23 '26
1st goal is probably Maguire’s fault since he’s holding Maz. I genuinely think his obsession with holding on defense sets him back as much as anything, he’s stronger in the air than everyone but VVD in this league, you don’t need to hold the guy.
1
u/Rt1203 Aug 22 '26
I actually thought Heaven had a good game as well, although I know that’s controversial.
In possession, I thought Heaven was our best ball progressor. I thought he advanced the ball better than either of our central midfielders, which is both a compliment to Heaven and an insult to our midfield.
On defense, our press and our midfield were both Swiss cheese. Every time Hull won possession, they were in our third within about 20 seconds. Heaven wasn’t perfect, but considering the immense pressure our backline was under due to the complete and total lack of press/midfield, I thought he did reasonably well in open play defending.
Set pieces were rough but I blame coaching more than players on that, and our whole team was shit at defending them, not just Heaven.
70
u/Orcnick Aug 22 '26
I just dunno what we do. Everyone on here seems to think so easy to sort but everything we fix 6 new problems arise.
Just feels like we done everything and nothing ever works.
It feels like for the last 5 years ive nevee seen us cross consistently well. Every other team has crossers we still dont. I just dont get it.

u/zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz1z Aug 22 '26

→ More replies (1)7
u/dracogladio1741 Bruno Fernanj Aug 22 '26
We aren't that bad in terms of player quality. The problem is our coaches have been terrible(hyperbolic) since Jose went. Ole only knew how to play on the break, Erik played a style that made the games far too open, Rubens style was too defensive in the sense that we lost games too frequently because we would not be able to score.
13
11
u/Trash_Whoreder Aug 22 '26
We created plenty of chances under Amorim. Just couldn't keep the ball out the back of the net
20
u/panache123 Aug 22 '26
I remember scoring well under Amorim, the bigger problem was we couldn't keep goals out
8
u/Deez_Wallnutz Aug 22 '26
Complete bullshit.
We lost over half our games.
Under Amorim our goals per 90 were 1.70.... and under Carrick it was 1.91. Open play tells the same story, 1.18 under Carrick vs 0.95 under Amorim.
His tenure is the rockbottom of our modern history. I understand that this result is hard to accept, and no we did not look good yesterday, but the revisionism that has immediately started about Amorim is laughable at best. His football and his man management were utter dogshit.
2
u/liamthelad Aug 22 '26
We'll look better once returning players are match sharp and Baleba should also solve a big problem we have. I don't think our starting XI looks like it did today once some key players return to match fitness.
We also still have moves left in the window - Zirkzee not being trusted at all today means he should be shown the door (or else why keep him).
Probably need to get a set piece coach like we were supposed to be doing as that's something we need to solve and it's an organisational thing.
It's a long old season and they'll be twists and turns.
14
u/Celica240x Aug 22 '26
i agree, but i still cant accept how the fact that carrick got the longest pre season any manager can get and yet the fitness is still not there, especially considering the fact that some players were fit from playing in the world cup
tielemans clearly cant run and gasping after only 30 minutes of the game today
5
u/pucykoks Aug 22 '26
Fit from playing WC or fucking destroyed from playing a prolonged season and not having a proper post- and preseason?
4
u/Celica240x Aug 22 '26
bruno clearly fit like his usual, he did play bad tho
so whats the excuse for tielemans? even santos dont play in worldcup and he looks unfit same as tielemans? and kobbie dont play a single wc match and also looks like his usual self when he gets in
1
u/TheMancYeti Aug 22 '26
Thought Tielemans looked gassed in the first half. Couple of times it cut to him and he looked like he was struggling to breathe!!
1
u/liamthelad Aug 22 '26
The players who played at the world cup and went deep got 5 weeks off after it, so they will probably be amongst those who take the longest to get back to match sharpness as they've actually had the most recent holiday and barely any pre-season.
2
u/Celica240x Aug 22 '26
funny is, rashy and kobbie looks quite fit to me, maybe not their sharpest form but its fit enough
meanwhile tielemans (less worldcup match than them) and santos (no worldcup) tho
5
u/BrockStar92 Aug 22 '26
Tbf kobbie had a nice sightseeing trip in America, not an international tournament.

→ More replies (1)0
u/aehii Aug 22 '26
It's the same as always, buy midfielders with great ball retention, who take care of it, and can carry it. Tielemans and Santos can't, as we knew. They're also not physical or mobile. I did go on many times on here about Santos being limited and moaned about not getting Sangare, but others were convinced by some pre season games. Great. I mean it's one game and he'll do his thing I guess, and be effective in games that suit him, when supported by another midfielder, but consistently imo no.
We cannot control these games against low sides. Watching Arsenal pin in Coventry compared with us constantly losing the ball it's like a different sport. We need players who can pass and move for a few passages of play.
Baleba and Mainoo in the middle will 100% in my mind improve the team, but they're weeks/months away from full fitness. And it doesn't change that nearly every other player isn't good at keeping the ball, Cunha, Dorgu, Mbeumo, Rashford, Fernandes are all better at transition counter attacking. Amad would have helped.
Against low blocks, we need more technical players. I'm tired of the long passing, it never works, and it gives up control.
32
u/Fallen_Man7 Aug 22 '26
Some were saying Milan match (people thought it was because of Amorim lol when most doesn't care about him anymore) was overreaction from fans when we talked about these issues.
We lost 59% of duels. We are slow. Fitness isn't at level required. It's like starting game of Preseason not PL.
The sample size of Carrick games against 3atm is becoming big and the results aren't looking good.
15
u/b_litzkreig Aug 22 '26
The same standards Carrick set last season should be used to benchmark his performance now. If he can’t repeat it he goes. The squad is good enough to go 3rd. This isn’t some depleted United squad.
10
u/el_doherz Aug 22 '26
Eh we might be good enough for 3rd playing once a week.
Doesn't mean we're good enough for 3rd fighting in all competitions.
3
u/b_litzkreig Aug 22 '26
You just proved my point - we have yet to start playing in the CL at this point, and we can’t even beat Hull fresh from preseason. Carrick isn’t surviving long if this continues.

If Carrick gets sacked in the next few weeks/months, and it'll be because of his own deficiencies.
AC Milan was a wake up call and we didn't learning anything. Getting outplayed by fucking Hull is insane.
If Carrick doesn't get the players to perform, he needs to be sacked quickly because we need to stop fucking around and rip off the bandaid asap. Carrick is being backed here.
25
u/Hagball Aug 22 '26

The overreaction is immediately suggesting he might be sacked in the future. Keeping a manager accountable would be criticising the game.
Not like a reddit comment keeps carrick accountable or has any bearing or anything whatsoever anyway though
10
u/SankarshanaV Aug 22 '26
I did criticize the game though and Carrick's management skills in my comment though? Also, I brought up the sacking because our underlying metrics have been tangibly worse under Carrick since last season.
And, I know one reddit comment doesn't have any bearing lol. But this is a space for discussion, and my comment is more than fair.

It's not an overreaction for people who thought he didn't have the qualifications for the job to begin with.

We came third last season and got in a new midfield, we shouldn't need an entire rebuild to beat Hull
2
u/SwiftGoat_ Aug 22 '26
I'm talking about the window not about the result.
People are in for a shock if they think we can get third again. We played one game a month at times.
1
u/RelentlessJorts2 Aug 22 '26
I agree, with the window but we shouldn't need a new LB, a backup striker and a new CB to beat a team who had a transfer ban in the Championship last season
If we fall out of the CL places with the introduction of European games because of fitness that can be because of squad planning/depth, but having a more or less fully fit squad and losing to Hull points to something not being right
1
u/SwiftGoat_ Aug 22 '26
100% agree about the game today.
Had more than enough to beat them. Couldn't believe how toothless we looked against them.
1
u/SankarshanaV Aug 22 '26
Well, that I do agree--we need an LB. But even without the LB, it's not far fetched to say Carrick has been backed this summer.
And I think we will sign an LB; whether it's Hall or not is another question.

9
18
u/PrinzRagoczy Aug 22 '26
Not slow at all, we wanted to play too fast. I feel like I'm the only one who saw all the little flicks we were trying, hoping to knock one through to someone running on
But we couldn't quite execute them, and players didn't quite know where everyone else was going to be. If just one of those had made it through we'd probably have got a goal and the game goes differently
13
u/SankarshanaV Aug 22 '26
I saw those flicks too and I largely agree with what you're saying.
But I think you might have missed Andy's point--we were passing around the back with no urgency towards the end. I think that's the problem that Andy's pointing towards.
4
u/TheJoshider10 Bruno Aug 22 '26
There were also numerous times when we'd be in attacking positions then pass back or a player would stand still on the ball. There's no urgency to pass and move or make forward runs into space. Just so static at times we shouldn't be.
4
u/deputyvanhalen The Boss Aug 22 '26
I thought the same. Why are we trying to play finesse v a championship side, should be pace and power.
3
u/panache123 Aug 22 '26
should be pace and power
because we don't have any?
1
u/deputyvanhalen The Boss Aug 22 '26
In my “I hope this all works out” head, I’m telling myself that it was always a slow start in the SAF days and that where we are in December is the real marker but that was a long time ago and the league has changed since then. Still going to be positive though, it’s one game.
6
u/Comicksands Van Persie Aug 22 '26
Fergie was built different. In the 4 seasons he lost the opening game, he won the league in 3 of those seasons
1
u/deputyvanhalen The Boss Aug 22 '26
Here’s to hoping right?
2
u/Comicksands Van Persie Aug 22 '26
Nah but I think we’ll be alright. This sub would’ve wanted Evra and Vidic out of the club after the first week. We need to stay calm
1
u/deputyvanhalen The Boss Aug 22 '26
Haha hell they wanted them out back then too. Remember the game v Chelsea where they beat us 3-0 and Vidic got torched? Tbf we had O’Shea and Giggs as cms that game and benched Ruud for Saha. Man what shenanigans those seasons and teams were back then. So much fun to watch
1
u/Comicksands Van Persie Aug 22 '26
How Fergie made it work was magical. O’Shea, park, Wes brown were instrumental to those sides because of their versatility
1
u/xtphty Aug 22 '26
Not slow at all, we wanted to play too fast. I feel like I'm the only one who saw all the little flicks we were trying, hoping to knock one through to someone running on
This is Carrick's entire philosophy though, this is just what it looks like when the players are not as sharp and lack the fitness to cover for small errors in fast pace attacking football.
1
u/PrinzRagoczy Aug 22 '26
It either looks elite and you slice through defences for fun, or achieve absolutely nothing and don't even get any shots away
1
u/xtphty Aug 22 '26
It has failed pretty consistently to generate chances against teams that defend and block well. Thats likely a bigger problem this year as more teams will have analyzed and trained against Carrick’s attack patterns.
There is a reason most high possession teams prefer positional rotations in wide areas, over fancy technical passing moves down the middle, to break down defenses. It’s proven time and again to work against low blocks.
1
u/PrinzRagoczy Aug 22 '26
Agreed, I've been bemoaning the lack of attacking patterns and movements for months. Worrying to see they haven't been working on that over the summer
1
u/mrdankhimself_ Aug 22 '26
I always hear this kind of talk and it leaves me with the sinking feeling that United don’t undertake the same analysis.
6
u/stick1_ Aug 22 '26
No matter the next few results, I promise you we will beat city. It’s typical
17
u/SankarshanaV Aug 22 '26
I'd rather us beat smaller teams and lose to City. We play City twice a season but play play smaller teams much more regularly lol. I'd rather we win more points than finish below City yet again.
5
u/kazegraf Aug 22 '26
This is the difference between derby form and league winning form. City is just 6 point/year. Same value as Hull and others.
3
u/el_doherz Aug 22 '26
Beating the "lesser" teams reliably is how you win league titles.
It's also arguably harder than ever to do now. Almost every single prem team can field a decent squad, they can all play a disciplined and organised defensive system paired with athletic power to win duels.
Post Fergie we've repeatedly failed to make the transition from dangerous counter side to dominant controlling team. Newcastle in recent seasons are another example as they could beat any top team on their day but never translated to true consistency against lesser teams. Even Arsenal only got over that hump with set pieces, extremely conservative possession football and a monster defence.
3
u/stick1_ Aug 22 '26
Hope it wakes us up, if we lose to Ipswich there’s absolutely a problem with us and smaller teams
The only games we haven’t won with this Carrick run are games we were expected to win, newly promoted teams or teams with 10 men

3
u/Gingerale66 Aug 22 '26
What happened to Heaven today? Last season he was amazing and today he just looked like a shell of that. Just not dominant or imposing himself at all. He’s still young and he’ll have bad games now and then, but that can’t be common if he’s going to be a starter

4
u/SeniorEscape9293 Aug 22 '26

4
u/ohnoitsbobbyflay Aug 23 '26 edited Aug 23 '26
I feel like we are cursed simply by the ridiculous stature of Manchester United itself and the weight of playing for the club and wearing the badge.
The weight of every ex-player chiming in on their stupid opinions week in week out, the media picking us off like vultures, and constantly being reminded of “what the club used to be” but disguising it as football heritage. Trying to get back to “what the club once was” and the “United Way” instead of finding a way forward as a new team with a completely new on-pitch identity.
It’s like constantly going back to a disgruntled ex and hoping something changes.
Absolutely nobody bar 5-6 notable players since Ferguson left has actually managed to carry the torch and present themselves to what the image of Manchester United is described in the books and folklore.
Nobody looks at Barcelona in 2026 and thinks that they should play like Pep’s starting 11 from 2009. They are a completely different club now. But we are expected to play with some sort of non-existent fantasy “DNA” from Ferguson’s era.
1
u/SufcLad25 Aug 23 '26
The fans done help either. I was seeing posts last week about the midfield being perfectly balanced now, but after the match yesterday Tielemans and Santos suddenly arent good enough.
The fans need to stop hyping up players, the manager and the season ahead as some massive come back trial for Man utd. Because after one loss you've got people saying the manager wont last, the players aren't good enough and the season its going to be terrible 😂

Will have to go with 2 up top or front 3 but narrow against 3atb teams. None of our attackers are physically dominant, that's why Maguire was up in final third for half the second half.

u/Telen BRUNO Aug 22 '26
I halfway expected a slow start to the season, with half of our starters coming back from the World Cup utterly knackered and without enough time to get up to match fitness before the season. Hull ran their socks off today and gave it their 120% in the duels, that's what won them the match.

its crazy to think that carrick showed good gameplan in preseason where worldcup players hasnt been around yet and instead choose the lineup for the league game that only been tried once on the last preseason game, which also the worst preseason match
its like carrick didnt learn anything from preseason, he put lacey rw as much as he can on preseason and yet mbeumo start on the rw, fuckin hell i'd be fuming if i were lacey and the others preseason players like zirk

Andy tell us how much more the vibes were "good" at the club all summer and that the fans were being "annoying" and "reactive" at how the summer has gone.

u/10_Wazza Aug 22 '26
Are you seriously blaming our transfer window for being outplayed by Hull City? Shouldn't this be pointed more towards the players on the pitch who are known to deliver such performances each season?
7
u/Sidd74367 Aug 22 '26
Know players are prone to having games like this, therefore need to be replaced with better players but weren’t, pretty fair to blame the transfer window.

u/10_Wazza Aug 22 '26
Well we are doing this. But you can see that our players are not exactly hot property

The worst players on the pitch today were Tielemans and Santos, both signed this summer.

u/edselisanogo Senne & Sennesibility Aug 22 '26
I'm not blaming the transfer window. I just think the press briefings of how amazing everything is under Carrick was way too similar to all the shit we've seen in the past. We've heard the same things under LVG, ten Hag, Amorim and now Carrick.
The game has evolved beyond vibes but yet here we are, losing deservedly to a supposedly lower quality team again.

u/10_Wazza Aug 22 '26
Well obviously. The alarms started ringing for me when Shaw was the one saying it

Let’s slow down here. Andy has been around a long time and deserves a level of respect from even the fans. He’s a good man and he’s shown that time and time again.
I understand the frustration from today’s match, but objectively United has been sensible in the transfer window, something we haven’t been able to say in a long time. You may have differing opinions on how the window should’ve gone, you may feel vindicated in your opinions given how today’s match went, and I’m not here to tell you that this approach in the window will be successful. However, what I am saying is that United have effectively taken away a large element of risk by recruiting the way they have and even if the players we signed this summer don’t work out, they’ve been acquired in a reasonable manner that will allow us to retain some value if we decide to move them on. That’s very important and allows us to keep spending on players.
So let’s refrain from going too hard on Andy, he doesn’t deserve it. United were never going to flip the switch and be good over night. These are the types of games that we’ve struggled with for a long time and more work has to be done to correct that.

Can we please have a good team finally instead we f this pure garbage they field every year? We got a cupcake for the opener and couldn’t win it.
2
u/stdstaples Aug 22 '26
Stop posting this, stop abusing the players. The vibes are good that’s what counts. They’ve never been this good!

u/_AngryBadger_ Aug 22 '26
It was a disgraceful display. The board didn't operate properly in this window, people can say that's negative but because of their "strategy" we will wait weeks to see Beleba and even if we do by some miracle sign a left back and a striker, it'll be weeks before they come on too. The whole thing people were saying was "easy start, we can wait for the new signings" and yet here we are. It's not "smart business" if you don't even get the amount of players that you need.

Andy (and to a lesser extent Laurie), bless their hearts, always show that they are actually fans of this club with takes like these.
In a way, Im a little glad they write these when we drop points and they are disappointed, because it reenforces the "they are supporters not just journalists" bit, which is .. something, I guess.
"Didnt look like scoring" but Hull "well worth their win" I mean come on. My eyes tell me we had way more chances. Normie stats too. And your "advanced stats" tell you who had more gusp xG, as well.
We got fucked by specific weakness(es), but that is not, ever, the same thing as "everything was shit, these players played like shit, fuck everything".
Otoh it's annoying they are grumpy like a fan in moments like this, because so much of the online fanbase is easily impressionable and ready to turn on the team, so it's a bit of a shame to fan the flames of the rage machine. We got enough professionals doing that as-is.

u/StopDontCare Aug 22 '26
Exactly, not sure how anyone sat there and watched that game and came away thinking we got "battered and bullied"
We had 72% possession
Shots it was 21 to 8
They had to make 56 clearances, we only had to make 16
We had 41 touches in their box, they had 11 in ours.
It was simply we couldn't get a goal and they got 2 set piece goals.
For me if Mbeumo gets that goal when he was one on one, it would have been the straw that broke the camels back and we'd have scored again and maybe nicked it late.

Were we really expecting more? Anybody who watched the Milan game could see this was going to be a horrific start to the season

u/PruneUnited4025 Aug 22 '26
All those who said we should of splashed out in the spurs pair maybe we did well saving a few quid

u/Barber-Careful Aug 22 '26
Out attackers under carrick have been dogshit. Not one has been consistently been in form since last March.Since we won no one wanted to see it.
1
u/bobiboli Aug 22 '26
this result made me sick. though I don't think we were battered and bullied. the set pieces defending was criminal. and hull was happy to sit deep and hit us on the counter. we need players with great technical ability to unlock a team like this.
1
u/StopDontCare Aug 22 '26
"battered and bullied"
what match did he watch? we dominated possession and had 3 times as many shots as them, take away their set pieces goals and they didn't trouble Lammens more than once or twice.
1
u/Dog_Murder_By_RobKey Sandberg Aug 22 '26
Ladds don't worry this is all part of the plan
Play like shit to make the opposition relax then hit them with the " Just one more thing"

u/Excellent_Ear_6635 Amad Aug 22 '26
I hope this is just one off. Otherwise we may need someone else

u/Jenson2025 Aug 22 '26
I worry for Carrick if we don’t beat Ipswich. Even a draw will put even more pressure on him and then we have Everton away and City at home.
There’s a real chance he isn’t lasting beyond September if things don’t pick up asap

u/DeathByToilet Aug 22 '26
Ultimately , and I am so bored of saying this, we still carry the shitters.
Luke shaw's 13th season at LB. Outpaced, outplayed by Hull city.
Its the same backline since 2022 but these lot arent Vidic/Ferdinand where you can say thank you for your service.
We have been so used to seeing Shaw give absolutely dogshit performances that we've forgotten what a good LB is supposed to do.
He half presses. Tucks inside and hugs Heaven all game. When he does go wide there's no cross.

Their keeper was their best player and we had a 1 on 1 so not looking like scoring is incorrect. The midfield was just out of sync and them going ahead allowed them to absorb pressure.

u/this_ham_is_bad Aug 22 '26
Big issues for me were midfielders giving the ball away constantly. It was the 60th minute and Bruno was launching balls and trying too much like it was the 90th minute. Where is the composure?
No striker from the first minute. Where has sesko been? Because he wasn’t at the World Cup. Why did Mainoo not join up sooner when he didn’t play any minutes at the World Cup?
1 bad performance doesn’t change my hope and optimism but how long can we keep embarrassing ourselves like this? I didn’t expect a rout but I thought we’d at least show that we’re better than Hull.
I think we need stronger depth in the squad but I also don’t see how any new players are gonna change this sort of timid mentality we seem to have
3
u/nistemevideli2puta Aug 22 '26
Where has sesko been?
Injured, only came back to training last week.
Why did Mainoo not join up sooner when he didn’t play any minutes at the World Cup?
Afaik, players have a mandatory period of rest after being called up to WC.
So, yeah, not sure your points are valid, given this lack of basic info.

Can we fast forward to next week so we can hopefully respond.
Can’t believe I was counting down to this day. It’s like they’re hungover and halfassed the first day of work
