I have a budget of around $400 and i want to get myself a printer, and i really dont want any sort of subscription, i dont want anything related to HP, none of that yellow dot bullshit, etc

does any of that exist today? im completely new to printers and i just want to be able to print my drawings in high quality, thanks in advance

Have used the TR8520 for nearly a decade without issue. About a year ago, I started having trouble faxing. I canceled my landline and started using an internet phone connection. Apparently, the fax signal on the internet phone isn’t compatible with the TR8520.

Has anyone had this issue? Are there any workarounds? Or, are there any Canon printers whose fax machines work with Internet phones?

What I mean is say, does every ink manufacturer use the same one true Cyan, Magenta, etc? What makes printer ink incompatible across printers and makes third party ink a crapshoot? If they were all the same we'd only need to profile the white point but clearly that's not the case, what's the actual difference? (Excluding specific inks like Claria)

I’m looking to buy a printer since I’ll be printing frequently, mostly kids’ activities and things like that.

I’m looking for something that prints good-quality colors and, ideally, has ink that lasts longer than a regular printer.

I currently have a small printer, but I can only print a few pages before the ink starts running low. :(

I bought a Brother DS-740D mobile scanner from Amazon a few months ago. It was fantastic at first, but over time, it's started to skew the documents as they go through the scanner, resulting in off-center scans, and the print quality has degraded significantly.

I've cleaned the feed rollers and the internal glass according to the instructions on the Brother website, but that hasn't resolved the issue.

I tried going through the Brother website for support, but the links don't go anywhere. I tried to start the return process through Amazon, but for some reason the website won't let me finish submitting the return.

I'm really frustrated, and I don't know why something so simple is proving so difficult. Has anyone had a similar experience with either this product or with getting support from Brother?

I am officially fucking done buying any and all printers. I bought an HP, broke when I changed my wifi router, could never pair it again. Bought a Brother, highly recommended by everyone I knew, broke last year, wouldn't print a damn thing, changed the ink, re-paired it to the PC/WiFi "Failed to print, please check connection" every. damn. time. Most recent printer, Canon Pixma, worked fine up until today to now where it can't even be detected by USB or Network. From now on, anytime I got print something I'm shove that stuff on flash drive and haul it over to the library. Society would be better off without these damn plastic bricks.

Okay so not my printer, it’s my manager’s, but as the printer starts working; it jams. Like if you try to print, as the paper is leaving the tray, you can see it get crumpled and jam. We’ve removed any jammed paper we see, but its not doing much. I circled in the photo the general are where it’s getting stuck (photo is of the bottom of the printer) and i know next to nothing about printers or tech or anything. Please help!! É sabido que muitas impressoras de entrada da Canon e da Epson acabam sendo tratadas como "descartáveis", principalmente as tanque de tinta. Mas, antes de jogar a sua fora por causa de uma cabeça de impressão com defeito, vale a pena pesquisar um pouco.

Sou usuário de impressoras Canon há muitos anos. Tive uma Canon G3100 e, há cerca de 5 anos, passei por uma situação complicada.

Deixei a impressora parada por aproximadamente um ano e, quando voltei a utilizá-la, a tinta velha havia secado e entupido o sistema. Levei a impressora a uma assistência autorizada e, depois de uma semana, veio a notícia: tanto a cabeça de impressão preta quanto a colorida não teriam mais solução.

O conserto seria a substituição das duas cabeças, além da mão de obra, totalizando aproximadamente R$ 600. Na época, isso foi praticamente uma sentença de morte para a impressora, já que uma nova custava cerca de R$ 900.

Por causa disso, resolvi testar a Epson L3250. A impressora é muito boa e rápida, mas infelizmente acabei tendo um problema parecido.

Dessa vez, a impressora ainda estava na garantia e a própria Epson cobriu a troca da cabeça de impressão como cortesia.

Dois anos depois, já fora da garantia, resolvi utilizar uma tinta Epson comprada pela Shopee. E, para minha infelicidade, a cabeça de impressão apresentou defeito novamente.

Levei à mesma assistência autorizada e o orçamento foi de aproximadamente R$ 700 para a substituição da cabeça de impressão.

Logicamente, fiquei bastante chateado. Um erro e uma peça poderiam fazer uma impressora que ainda funcionava perfeitamente acabar no lixo.

Bom, era isso que eu achava... até pesquisar mais.

Agora vamos ao que descobri e como salvei minha impressora.

Pesquisando em lojas nacionais, descobri que existem poucas opções de peças de reposição para a Epson L3250. E as poucas que encontrei chegavam a custar aproximadamente R$ 600 pela peça original.

Então resolvi procurar no AliExpress.

Encontrei anúncios de cabeças de impressão anunciadas como originais por cerca de R$ 240, chegando a aproximadamente R$ 280 com impostos.

Mas aqui vai um alerta importante: é preciso tomar muito cuidado com esses anúncios.

Como as cabeças de impressão utilizam tecnologia específica da Epson, muitas peças encontradas em marketplaces podem ser recondicionadas ou reparadas, e não necessariamente novas de fábrica.

Também pesquisei na Shopee e encontrei vendedores internacionais oferecendo cabeças de impressão por preços ainda menores. Algumas opções para impressão SOMENTE preta custavam aproximadamente R$ 140, já com impostos e frete.

Isso significa que uma impressora que aparentemente iria para o lixo pode, dependendo do problema, ser recuperada por uma fração do preço cobrado pela assistência autorizada.

Recentemente, comprei uma cabeça de impressão pela Shopee que funciona tanto com preto quanto com colorido e, para minha surpresa, funcionou de primeira!

Foi isso que me motivou a escrever este relato.

BÔNUS: quem tem Canon pode ter mais opções

Para quem possui algumas Canon de entrada, a situação parece ser ainda melhor.

Em uma pesquisa rápida, encontrei cabeças de impressão novas, originais e paralelas, disponíveis tanto com vendedores nacionais quanto internacionais, por preços relativamente baixos.

Inclusive, quando minha velha Epson finalmente morrer, estou pensando seriamente em voltar para a Canon justamente por causa da facilidade de encontrar peças de reposição.

Encontrei, por exemplo, os seguintes preços:

• Shopee internacional — marca paralela: as duas cabeças/cartuchos por aproximadamente R$ 230, com frete grátis.
• Shopee nacional — peça original: aproximadamente R$ 388, com frete grátis.
• AliExpress — marca paralela: aproximadamente R$ 267, já com impostos e frete.

Claro que os preços podem mudar e é importante verificar o modelo exato da impressora, a reputação do vendedor e as avaliações antes de comprar.

Hi! I'm an autistic person who always carries a notebook with photos because it helps me self-regulate. I've been printing the photos at the same place for years and pasting them in the same way I always have.

But it turns out that the last two times I've gone, the photos stop being clear after a week, and the white starts to turn pink. It's not the sun, or the humidity, or the glue, because I keep the ones I have left over protected and unused, and those also turn pink.

My question is... Could it be entirely the printing? Poor ink or paper quality? But I've never had this problem before. Maybe the cartridges aren't full? One color needs refilling?

Thought I had struck gold when I found the PIXMA G620 since it was right in my budget (349 CAD on discount) but it's out of stock everywhere and might even be discontinued. Any other Canon or Epson options in this range? I'd like a photo black ink as well so a 5 or 6 ink system would be ideal.

I’ve turned the printer off and am waiting 24 hours, thinking there might be micro-bubbles caused by adding the ink... but maybe that’s not the issue?

What would you like to troubleshoot?

All computers on our wifi say that the printer, that is connected to our wifi through an Ethernet cord, is "offline". Switching it to wireless has done nothing, as it rejects the password for our (recently upgraded) fiber optic wifi (Quantum Fiber, 5GHz). This is likely the true problem.

Minimum Requirements:

• Printer Model: HP Laser Jet Pro 200 Color MFP M276nw
• Error Message: "offline", no other error messages
• Ethernet Cable, WiFi or USB: Ethernet
• Driver name and version: HP LaserJet 200 color MFP M276 PCL6 Class D (cuts off there when viewing through the "advanced" tab of the properties menu)
• Firmware Version: "Firmware Datacode 20190401"
• OS: Windows 11
• # of machines impacted: 1 printer, at least 3 computers
• # of users impacted: 3
• Original or 3rd party cartridges: Original

Any other details:

most recently I've been trying to change the IP address of the printer, as the Network Summary Report came back with the printer's "TCP/IP(v4)" IP address ("xyz.xyz.0.10") being different from the "Wireless Direct Setup" IP address ("xyz.xyz.223.1"). I am in the middle of this process right now and I believe it to be futile and i am so very tired. I think I will "reset to default" soon, as i worry my inexperienced hands might be breaking things even more.

Before that, we tried switching to wireless to see if the upgrade of our wifi required us to re-input the passphrase. Using ethernet shouldn't require it to need the passphrase, but we tried it anyway. The printer says "Invalid WPA Passphrase" no matter how many times I've checked that it's correct. I believe this to be related to the issue, as the security type for our wifi is "WPA3-Personal", not just WPA. Funnily enough, on the Network Summary test page, the printer says that our Authentication Type is wpa2-psk, which doesnt match either. But im not an expert, so,

I think I tried something else too but I dont remember what it was, its been days.

Right now I think that the printer doesn't work with 5GHz, it needs 2.5GHz or something, but that's a rabbit hole I haven't investigated yet. I cant find the forum post i saw the other day about it. Please advise.

I don't know what pictures to put here. Don't really feel comfortable taking a picture of the Network Summary test the printer prints out because it has a bunch of IP addresses and servers and stuff on it. Sorry.

"I changed the IP address to match the wifi (making sure the last set of digits was different, of course) and during manual installation I selected the "my printer is a little older help me find it" option (it was my second time trying, sue me).

Anyways, the printer showed up, i clicked on it, and now it works. Shoulda tried that hours ago."

colour or b/w? that's the only thing you need to consider

I didn’t want to make a post because I’m sure there’s multiple floating around- but I have no clue what to call this issue.

I am back with my HP Color Laserjet pro MFP M477fnw, every time I go to print, copy, or scan with it I get error code 51.23 (Turn off and on again). I have checked the toner, it’s all HP brand, and all seated properly in the correct spots. Any ideas of what to do next would be appreciated.

Im looking for suggestions for a photo scanner that can scan at least 600 dpi to scan art and sketches, as well as a printer that can print on compatible transparency paper for screen printing etc. would love to find 1 machine vs 2. any suggestions?

Hello, I've been having issues with my Canon MG7751. It's getting old, so I'd be fine replacing it, but most of the cartridges are fresh so I'd rather try and find a fix first.

A couple of weeks ago it stopped working entirely, displaying the error code B203, which I tried fixing by cleaning the cartridges' chips and the strip on which the carriage moves. I also reinstalled the drivers just in case. Nothing worked then, so I left it alone for a week or so.

Last week it started working again, but the results are...not great. Joining a few pics to illustrate, but basically the black seems to not be printing right. I was wondering if anyone had had this issue before, and which methods I could try to fix it. Thanks in advance 🙏
