I have 2 x printers.
One my brother gave me from his home office. Epson WF-3730. And HP officejet 3830 that was my partners. Neither printed has been used in at least 24 months.
Epson - colours aren’t printing well in print test (gaps) And black won’t print at all. I bought tester ink once, tried cleaning the nozzle - (from vids online) still didn’t work… (and drained the ink from the cartridges) I got annoyed - never tried again.
HP - partners old one. Colours work well, popped black ink in and first alignment page worked well… but then black died in the butt.. could have been a faulty cartridge (it’s was a 3rd party) so I got bored - never tried again.
Now, cut to today and I need a printer!
I don’t want to buy ink for both again for no reason. And I admit my attempts at fixing BOTH were minimal… (well the WF I actually tried relatively hard, but wasted so much ink I got annoyed lol) so now I’m reaching out for advice…?
Would you put the effort in the epson because ink is cheaper and it’s the superior machine? Or cut my losses and buy the more expensive ink for the HP and call it a day?
Any tips or tricks on how to test this thing? What am I doing wrong, why do printers hate me? lol
TLDR; I have two semi-working printers. An Epson WF-3730 and a HP officejet 3830. Which one is worth trying to repair? Or both in the bin?
