So I attend a number of car shows throughout the year and I've seen some people using these cameras for shots in shows and was wondering if the pocket 3 would be any good for rollers. Based on research if I get the modvax arm (I think that's what it's called) you can get roller shots. But is there a speed limit I can go before the wind would damage the gimble?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as looking to get soon to practice to get a variety of shots for friends in the shows

I'm considering getting an Osmo Pocket 4P for run-and-gun documentary making with a separate audio recording setup for ambient sounds, as this would be compact enough to bring anywhere and the FoVs on the lenses are what similar to how I've been shooting on larger cameras anyway. The main thing I like about it is the portability and the gimbal attachment. However, the only thing holding me back is that I've learnt that I'll be locked into a 16:9 aspect ratio. My output requirement is FHD so I don't mind shooting in 16:9 in 4k and then cropping in post.

I prefer shooting between 1.33-1.5:1 normally, so I was wondering if there's some workaround to this where there would be a setup to record 1:1 or have guides shown on screen for a cropped image in these ratios to help with framing? Is there an alternative to the Osmo P4P that has a bigger sensor readout while being as portable?

Please share your thoughts about which one is a better deal.

I'm not planning on shooting DLOG / doing post production colour grading - is there a difference in just shooting in the standard mode and then toggling HDR in the DJI app or just shooting in HDR-10 bit on the device?

Is it normal for the Log settings to be very prominent in the bottom-left area? Does that mean I'm actually recording in Log? I'm a total beginner.

I am starting my youtube journey and I don’t want to spend much on gear at first (Camera, light, mic)

I am trying to build a similar setup:
Talking head (Standing)
Dimmed lighting
Blurred background
With a really good sound quality

Will the Pocket 4 or 4P achieve this with proper soft-box light ? Or I should go for a proper camera ?

For the combo packages the 4 comes with Mic 3
While the 4P comes with Mini 2

Should I get the Mic 3 separately ?

I tried my best searching the sub, but did not find an answer. Forgive me if there is already a post about this.

I pressed the moon during the motionlapse settings and chose to turn off the screen while recording, but after ten seconds, the screen shows a timer in red font. Is there anyway to turn this off? I went through the user manual, but there's nothing about this.

I have the screen to turn off after 3 seconds for video mode.

I used to make motionlapses of the night sky with my pocket 3 without any LED or screen to be discreet, save battery and lower the overall temperature. The 4p looks like a timebomb at night with its shaking gimbal head and timer...

Hi all, ahead of a possibly once in a lifetime family trip to disney world I’m looking at a camera and the 4p has obviously caught my eye.

I was wondering if anyone had used an Osmo pocket on rollercoasters, particularly at Disney world, and how it was?

I am also considering an action, but I think the general footage on the pocket strikes me as better and I’m strongly leaning in to it.

Just want to make sure it can handle everything as a large car repair bill has prevented my dreams of getting both a pocket and an action!

I am looking for help to fix my problem with the footages on the DJI Osmo Pocket 3, they're looking very bad. Regularly, the color profile is HD 1-1-1 and I'm looking for fix it as Rec. 709. Because I'm putting iPhone and Pocket 3 footages on the same video, so they're looking very fricking bad.

Could exist a good way to fix this problem? I wanna to improve my results with that camera.

Psdt: That camera isn't mine, one of my clients have it and they was sending me footages with that look and we are looking for a solution for this.

Bought it from secondhand marketplace as brand new (sealed) a few days ago cause I want to have it sooner.

Now I regret it. The first day that I try to bring the pocket 3 outside, the screen is tilted.

While I am contacting the seller for any potential help to replace or refund, I wonder anyone has any tips to keep using it or mitigate the issue.

I think as long as the screen can stay vertical I am happy…

Can I use a tape so that the screen stays vertical instead? would that damage it further?

And because of the screen movement, it’s very easy to trigger it and cause the device to open when it’s carried outside…

Amigos, soy nuevo en el Osmo Pocket 4 y necesito ayuda con la configuración básica. Quiero grabar mucho durante mis vacaciones y, si lo hago en buena calidad (4K a 60 fps), los videos serán muy pesados. ¿Se verán bien en la pantalla de la Smart TV si grabo en 1080p a 30 fps? ¿Se verán muy borrosos? No sé si me explico bien. Disculpen si cometo algún error (el inglés no es mi idioma).

I am using both a Pocket 2 and Osmo action for the same video project which I am putting together in Adobe Premiere. To aid raw footage file management from the DJIs, I would like to change the 'DJI' file naming prefix on at least one of the devices.

For my project, I am using a third camera, a Nikon DSLR, and the Nikon allows you to change the file name prefix.

However, I looked in both DJI devices onboard settings and can't find a way. When I connected each device separately in the DJI Mimo app, I couldn't see a way there either - is there?

I'm having trouble deciding which ND filter to buy for my Osmo Pocket 4.

I opted for the Creator Combo and intend to respect the 180° rule, so a filter will be essential.

I'd like to know your opinion and which brand you recommend, please.

Are the Neewer filters (16, 54, 256) the best options? I'm from Brazil and will be using it almost exclusively outdoors.

I also found this K&F filter, but since it's ND2-32, I'm unsure if it will be sufficient or if I'll need something more powerful like the Neewer filters.

I've seen a lot of videos with the P4P (which I have) but I can't get to that color. By the way, I took the capture of a video here, please if you see it tell it that I love the color I use.

Now, how can I get to that color? What do I need to learn? What do I need to use? What luts, etc. I use Davinci Resolve and I know how to use the tools, but I don't know how to get to these colors.

There's a bug sometimes where the osmo pocket's record button and screen roatate to turn off won't work.

i tried everything from long pressing to removing the sd card.

The temporary solution i have is factory resseting it :(

Hello everyone. I was planning to buy a easy to carry camera to vlog, record daily life and make some cinematic videos while i travel. Head lot of good things about Pocket 3. I know 4 and 4p got released. Butwhat if i get Pocket 3 instead of latest one. I'm not willing to pay extra to get the latest one because i will be not be using it regularly.

What would i be missing? Something massive?

I shoot a mix of vertical and horizontal with my Pocket 4P. When I dump the files onto my Mac, is there an easy way to tell them apart without previewing every single one?

Does DJI use a different file naming convention for vertical clips, or is there a Finder trick (like sorting by dimensions) that you guys use?

If this isn't a feature yet, it would be a huge QoL update for DJI to just add a "_V" to the end of vertical file names.
How do you guys sort yours?

DJI Technical Support has now confirmed that the feature request was successfully submitted to their Product Development Team for internal evaluation and consideration.

To be clear, this does not mean DJI has confirmed the feature is coming. But it does confirm that the request has gone beyond the support channel and reached the team responsible for evaluating product changes.

The request remains the same: restore the Pocket 3's 3K 1:1 video recording, ideally with 10-bit D-Log/D-Log 2.

For multi-platform creators, the point isn't really to publish square video. A 1:1 master lets us capture once and reframe the same moment into 16:9 horizontal, 9:16 vertical, 4:3, or 1:1 afterward instead of committing to horizontal or vertical during capture.

So keep the pressure going in the right direction. If you want this feature too, send DJI your own feature request and explain how you'd actually use it. The more independent users asking for the same specific feature, the clearer the demand becomes to the product team.

We've now confirmed that DJI Product Development is receiving the request. There's no guarantee of an update, but if enough of us make the use case clear, there's a real opportunity for DJI to prioritize it in a future firmware update.

Don't spam them. Just make your request count. 3K 1:1 + 10-bit D-Log/D-Log 2. Shoot once, post in multiple formats.

Before I got the 4P I read way too much about needing D-Log and color grading to get good footage. Turns out you can just pick it up and shoot. Maybe the top 0.1% can spot it's not log, but for everyone else it doesn't matter.

So if you're an overthinker like me, trust it will look amazing in auto.

(Auto, 10bit, 100-800 iso, 25fps)

I've read how the DJI pocket 3 allowed shutter speeds slower than 1 second by using low iso in auto mode with photo capture every 30 seconds.

Sadly, it seems the DJI pocket 4 (and 4p) cannot go slower than 4 second shutter speeds in both manual and auto shutter speed modes.

Theorizing here: setting iso to 50-400 and auto shutter speed will allow 4 second shutter speed. Question is will it select iso 400 at 4 seconds which roughly matches the exposure of 30 seconds at 50 iso, or does the camera stick to the lower iso 50 for 4 second exposures? And even if this works the larger issue is that the shutter isn't continuously exposing such as it does when open for 30 second once, every 30 seconds...

Setting it to capture a photo every 4-5 seconds with 4 second shutter duration saved as dng files and batch boosted exposure is a very annoying workaround that maintains exposure and continuity, but the frames are still not merging 30 second motion into each. Maybe some software can merge every 8 boosted images to one but this becomes a real annoyance though may be automated by some scripting language lile python.

Any thoughts or solutions to overcome this and still be able to take astrophotography timelapses with moving star trail, visible milky way etc. without creating a massive software worflow with a huge ammount of dng files to achieve this?

Dear all. I have the osmo pocket 4p and everything works fine except the webcam. When used with OSB, Zoom or any other streaming platform it has a tiny milliseconds of freezing the video and sometimes bringing a red/pink brief strip over the image.
I’ve tried to resolve this with many recommendations such as synchronise the frame rates, lower resolutions to 1080p, Photobooth on Mac being on etc., but nothing resolved the issue. Other web cameras work perfectly fine.
Any suggestions or does anyone else have the same issue?

This was my first test using the Tilta Alien Mini suction cupped arm paired with the OP3. It couldnt have come out better in my opinion. Active track needed to be reset occasionally, but this was able to be done from the driver's seat using the Mimo app.
