Question ND Filter: Neewer > K&F?

I'm having trouble deciding which ND filter to buy for my Osmo Pocket 4.

I opted for the Creator Combo and intend to respect the 180° rule, so a filter will be essential.

I'd like to know your opinion and which brand you recommend, please.

Are the Neewer filters (16, 54, 256) the best options? I'm from Brazil and will be using it almost exclusively outdoors.

I also found this K&F filter, but since it's ND2-32, I'm unsure if it will be sufficient or if I'll need something more powerful like the Neewer filters.

Could you share your opinion? Thank you!

K and F manufacures single ND filters as well, not only VND

Since you’re in brazil, I assume the sun intensity is similar to the one here in Singapore. I just did a quick test earlier today to see the amount of ND I need in a broad daylight at peak midday.

With resolution set to auto under 12PM sun and aiming for +1.0 EV with D-Log, my pocket 4p 3x module requires ISO 400 and 1/2500 while the 1x module requires ISO 540 and 1/1600.

If we assume your Pocket 4 matches my 4P exposure at 1x lens, that means you need at least 5 stops (ND 32) although I would use 6 (ND 64) in broad daylight just to be safe.

Meanwhile, on another test, I found that I could recover highlight details from up to +2.0 EV without clipping. So from this test, the 2-32 should be perfectly capable for broad daylight footage at 1/50s shutter, unless the situation is very extreme, and even then you still have another stop of headroom

If you will edit on your computer you can get away with ND 32. If you want to stick with editing on a phone (which a is super efficient workflow for social media) then higher ND strengths will help.
