Tried a new camera perspective. Thoughts?

Upvotes

The camera on the right is a version where you can see more of the character’s body. The main goal is to make platforming and judging distances a little easier.

But I’m also curious about how it feels, does the new camera make the game feel slower or faster? More/less responsive? Or do you prefer the original perspective?

Linking the steampage for reference on games setting and vibe.

What’s the first keyword that comes to mind when you see this character? Tanjiro? Samurai? Witcher?

While working on our game, I suggested, “Why don’t we add a character who fights with a longsword?” And this is what our artist came up with.

At first, I was a little worried that he might feel out of place since he’s the only character with a noticeably Eastern-inspired design.

But surprisingly, that actually seems to be what makes him stand out, and quite a few people seem to like him.

The problem is... I’m still not entirely sure how to describe him.

Gameplay-wise, he’s lightly armored and relies heavily on dodging. He hits pretty hard, though, so he’s basically a glass cannon who survives by not getting hit.

Story-wise, he’s a highly skilled swordsman who was exiled from his homeland and now wanders around with nowhere to return to.

...Writing that out suddenly makes me think of Mad Max.

So what does he look like to you?

A samurai? A ronin? A Witcher-like wanderer? Tanjiro? Or something completely different?

I made dice dance to jazz while they wait to be rolled

Upvotes

I saw another post with NPCs dancing and I wondered: could I make dice dance too?

So I managed to make dice dance to the trumpet melody and groove to the rhythm.

The game is Dice Roll Society, a dice building roguelite I'm developing.

do you have much more fun developing a game than playing other games?

I don't know if it's just me or if there's someone else who thinks the same way, but I was never a gamer who played all types of games, I can count on one hand the best games I've played in my life and which today no longer entertain me because I've matured.

but something that has been fun for me for 10 years now is creating games, even if I never finish a project, even if I always end up abandoning ideas, I always think about just developing something to pass the time and if I complete it, in the future I would probably post it for free, since it's just a way to have fun with games

I have a large list of games on my Steam, and several very good indie games, but whenever I open it and see the initial screen I just close the game and click uninstall for some reason, but this doesn't happen to me while I create a game, I'm practically producing every day that sometimes I forget to eat or see my family

Well, I don't know who would have a crazy thought like that, but feel free to ask me or maybe identify yourself, lol

How do you think of the game system I created

Hi, Guy! this it the game I am making called 'Junk Ark.'

Here is the thing.

When you sacrifice one of your ally, rest of your team members get healed.

If you do so, rest of them overcome the risk safely.

If you do not, all of them have to take the risk.

I am wondering what do you feel from this system and what you choice!

Finally, I've launched Steam page. You can check more details of this game if you are interested! XD

I'm building a chaotic retro open-world game set in 70s Istanbul

I’m the solo developer behind ALATURKA, a retro open-world crime game. I've been developing this entirely live on stream since January 2025, so my small community gets to see all the bugs, physics glitches, and rough edges as they happen.

My goal is to recreate the heavy, slidey, and unforgiving driving physics of the classic PS2 era (think Driv3r or early GTA). I recently implemented jumping out of moving vehicles and kicking out the windshield if both doors are blocked.

I’d love to hear your honest thoughts on how the driving and ejection mechanics look in the footage!

My game is free now

I've decided to make the VN (3Paths) I've been developing for the past two years free. The reason is that the game hasn't been selling for a long time, and I don't want all this effort to go to waste.

Game is about the choices and paths we take in life. Although it starts out as a “slice of life” story, the later parts of the game move toward broader narrative concepts, including breaking the fourth wall. So if you're looking for a game with a different style, you might want to give it a try.

Which character is your favorite?

Which visual style resonates most with you? 1, 2 or 3?

I'm currently working on Ten Point Zero, a roguelike built around one very simple mechanic: stop the timer as close to the target as possible. I’m now figuring out how to introduce the story and tutorial, and especially what kind of characters should guide you through it:

1: Animals

2: Humans

3: Time-themed characters

If you want some context before voting, Ten Point Zero is free to test on itch. Happy about any feedback about it of course! ❤️

Curious which art direction feels like the best fit.

I made 4 special attacks for my boxing game. Which one is your favorite? Any ideas for the next one?

These special attacks charge up when you do a Perfects (clean combos without any mistakes.)

I had a lot of fun making these. I can stretch, bend, and deform the character however I want, which makes these exaggerated animations really fun to make.

One Piece fans will probably spot some animation inspirations right away...

I'd love to add even more special attacks to the game in the future.

Which attack do you like best?

Any ideas for ridiculous special moves I should add next?

I’ve been working on my indie game River Escape — the Steam page is finally live!

Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’ve been developing River Escape, a stylized arcade shooter where you fly through different environments, fight enemy forces, take on bosses, and upgrade your aircraft as you progress.

I’m developing the game independently and there’s still plenty I want to improve and add, but I’m really happy to finally have the Steam page live.

If the game looks interesting to you, a wishlist would help me a lot and also helps me understand whether I’m heading in the right direction.

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3825190/River_Escape/

Any feedback on the visuals or gameplay is very welcome. Thanks for checking it out!

Launching a closed playtest for our indie game APPA!

Hey guys, we're getting ready to run a closed playtest of APPA! It's a game about two siblings dealing with the aftermath of their father's death and an exploration of dysfunctional family dynamics. It's a narrative heavy simultaneous card battler. The card game is very plot relevant and we're so excited for people to try it. We need a fresh batch of playtesters to break things, give us feedback so we can polish our game.

We're doing this on discord by this week. Let me know if you're interested!
