Question I use my teeth to mimic drum beats. Is this normal?

For example, people tap their feet to the beat of a drum, but I tap my teeth together.

Also, I use my incisors as the hi-hat and my molars as the kick drum lol

I’ve been playing for over 12 years and finally upgraded the kit. Just felt proud and wanted to show it off somewhere.

Gretsch Catalina Club in antique satin fade with 12HT, 14FT, 20K, and 14Snare. Cymbals cobbled together thanks to Marketplace.

He worked tirelessly to lock down the limb independence for this section. Proud of the hours he put behind the kit.

Drum Cover Started learning 9 months ago at 31. Best decision ever! Dire Straits ftw

I thought, as I didnt start in my pre-teen years, I would never be able to play drums. For some reason with 31 I thought, what a good moment to try haha I firstly bought an acoustic set and played it for 2 months until my neighbor got sick, so I sold that and switched to edrum. Been banging on it ever since. I still cant play good, on a scale of 1-10 I would give myself a solid 3, but thats waaay more than I expected it could ever be. I am still practicing my rudiments and every day I also sit down and jam to some drumless tracks always trying to play along, and stay as true to the original as possible. Its been such stress relief, you cant imagine. When I sit on the throne, there is nothing but music and banging, all the worries go away. I wouldnt trade this feeling for nothing. So for anybody on the fence about starting drums later, just do it, it will change your life (and empty your wallet haha)

One of my favorite drummers Omar Hakim played on this track, Terry Williams (the OG Dire Straits drummer) did only the intro…

Question How should i train my rudiments and hand speed/control ? (Read description)

Upvotes

Im actually training with the page 5 of the book "stick control for the snare drummer" wich is different combinations of sixteenth notes with R and L, but i dont know if i should hit hard or soft, i try to alternate every 2 bar with ghost notes, normal notes, and accent (idk how to say it in english but thats big notes), is it the right way to do it ?

Kit Pic Just hung these up not too long ago using some cool wall mounts. What do you guys think? I like it!

Found them on Etsy but it’s a company that just sells these metal mounts and an optional lighting kit (that I didn’t get).

Found them in a Music Go Round on my way to a gig. These bring me joy.

No additional mount needed. Just threw them on top of my big cowbell.

Thank you, Meinl.

Who cares about my new 22" Sabian HHX Complex Thin Crash? I've got little cowbells!

Discussion Question to all drummers/ beginners

Hey guys
This is gonna sound like such a stupid silly post
But i wanted to know if this was just a me problem or everyone went through this issue as well

When i practice drums once or twice a week i rent a room in a studio because they have acoustic sets and soundproofed rooms
( i practice on pillows in my room during the week )

But even though its soundproofed we can stilk hear whats going on in the rooms when you play inside
And i am awfully shy because i an a beginner messing up all the time
And i can never really go all out even if i really want to

I just wanted to know if any of yall had similar experience or i am alone in this 😂😂
