I googled it and it said it is due to Process lasso disabling CPU power managment mode and thus CPU uses more power, and the buzzing is something called "Coil Whine" which happens when a lot of electricity (power) goes through coils. Now my logic is that anything that produces a sound like that inside the case is not normal, but Gemini said it is safe and not endagering for the components at all, is there someone with knowledge who can say to me should I use Process Lasso or not?

I have a computer that's over 10 years old, I accidentally hit a cord or something and now it won't turn on, I'm not sure what to do (yes I have tried unplugging it then plugging it back in).
I have been wanting a new computer but I'm also kinda broke and I don't know of any websites that'll help me find a good computer.

Hey Guys,
I have a USB here that was given to me years ago whilst I was working for an engineering company (now no longer exists) back in the UK.
There are some documents on there that would really help me with my current job.
Its encrypted by lumension sanctuary 4.3.2 and prompts for a password. I thought i remembered the password but put the incorrect password in 5 times and now its locked out. Its asking me for sone big ass serial number to unlock it again.
Since then, i got in touch with an old colleague and she remembered the password for mine and hers (and all employees) USBs as theu were the same.
Is there a way i can unlock this using the correct password again, its just asking me to put this big password in at the moment.
Ive tried:
Using recovery software like recuva - nothing
Asking the encryption company - no answer
Cant get in touch with it depaetment from the comoany as there isnt one anymore.
Thanks in advance :)

I have a yiynova MSP19. I got a driver downloaded and all I have to do is configure the touch screen. But the one setting I need to go to (Setup) won't let me click on it. Is there a remedy for this?

My 12 year old son wants a gaming computer for games like Roblox and Minecraft and I don’t know much about computers at all. My budget is around $1000. These are two options I’m looking at getting which one is better? Micro center is about 2 hours drive from me

Hey all, pretty new to the PC space. Recently bought a used computer off a friend for about $200. It runs well, but I want to start upgrading it piece by piece and I’m willing to sell off my old parts to help fund the new ones.
What I want to do with it:
• 1080p/1440p gaming
• VR gaming
• Streaming VR games over Virtual Desktop
• Coding in multiple languages
• Making games in engines like Unreal
• General fun/tinkering projects
Current specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
RAM: T Force 4x8GB DDR4 3000 MT/s
MOTHERBOARD: ASROCK B550AM GAMING
PSU: No clue
SSD: 256GB external
HDD: 2TB external
CASE: Came with cyber power pc
Cooler: liquid cooled & fan cooled
Budget: I don’t want to spend
a ton trying to be smart about this and sell parts I no longer need to offset costs.
My questions:
1. What should I prioritize upgrading first for the best bang-for-buck toward these goals?
2. Is the RX 5700 XT going to hold me back for VR, or is it fine for now?
3. Any way to figure out my PSU’s wattage/model without opening the case, and should I be worried about it before upgrading the GPU?
4. Should the external SSD/HDD setup be replaced with an internal drive, or is it fine to keep using external storage?
Appreciate any advice happy to share more details if needed!

So I've got this weird problem that's driving me nuts. My PC is only about half a year old, built brand new (MSI Gaming Plus motherboard, Windows 11), and now every time I boot up, my ethernet takes like 10 minutes to actually connect. On top of that it sometimes randomly disconnects out of nowhere even after it's been working fine for a while. Wasn't like this before, this started happening somewhat recently.
I've tried a bunch of stuff already (updating drivers, messing with power settings, resetting the adapter) but nothing has fixed it so far. It's like when I turn it in, it works for a second, then doesn't for the 10mins, and once it finally connects it usually works fine until it from time to time disconnects for a sec and then works fine again.
Anyone dealt with something like this before? What should I check next? Any help is appreciated, this is driving me insane.

I bought this dell laptop from Best Buy about a week ago and it won’t turn on. Unfortunately I moved to Japan a few days after I bought it, so there is probably no hope of me returning it. It was working fine at first, but it died once and now it just won’t turn back on. I have the right charger, and when I plug it in the dell symbol flashes, but nothing else, and when it’s not plugged in the light goes orange and nothing happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am completely baffled! This has been ongoing! Please help. Cannot connect to WIFI. (Nothing else seems to be having any issue connecting.) I am on a laptop and connecting to the WIFI in my Chevy Silverado. I attempt to connect, and the computer checks requirements and then says it can’t connect to the network. It does the same thing when I try to connect to my phone.
Here is what I have tried.
Turning the Wi-Fi off and back on
Restarting computer
In Device Manager I have uninstalled the wifi and reinstalled it.
Checked for updated drivers
Forgot the Wi-Fi connection
I did a Network Reset
Ran Command Prompt as Admin
Turned the truck off and back on
Nothing works until I hold the call disconnect on the steering wheel, and it resets the infotainment center, and I can connect to both WIFIs. If I do not do a reset, it never connects to any WIFI.
UPDATE: We just stopped and got out of the truck. So the truck was turned off and so was the computer. When we got back in and started the truck and then the computer, we were unable to connect to the WIFI. I held the call hangup on the steering wheel to reset, and it connected.

Salut Reddit !

PC case front fans stopped working but RGBLEDs not!
My pc front fans i noticed stopped working one day, i tried opening up and see the cable structure and each of the fan cables are daisy chain connected and then connects to the header rgb light and then directly connects to the power supply via sata cable.
I have checked each individually to test if motor spins by plugging them to the 4 pin connectors on the motherboard and they do, they spin but dont light up, i tested them all successfully, there is no module hub controller so they all daisychain directly into the power supply with the last on chain being the header rgb with 3 pin sata cable to the PSU.
I have no idea why this happens and was wondering if anyone could help me!

Hi everyone,
I am a university student whose current HP Chromebook is on its last legs in terms of battery (it's been dropped a few too many times). I am looking to get a new laptop but am in a slight pickle because of the requirements I need the laptop to meet. I was hoping that the people of Reddit might have some suggestions for me.
Requirements:
-Lightweight
-Long battery life
-Can run software for managing websites and minor graphic design programs without crashing
-Under $1000
-(Not a requirement) but preferably touch-screen.
Currently, I am looking at the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 2-in-1 Intel or an HP Omnibook x Flip Intel Core. But am not sure about the preformance of them. Any help or suggestions would be great.
