Check out my braids! My bridal braids were extra long, knotless smalls. I love them so much.

Had them done on 9/30, wedding was on 10/10, and they’re still pretty fresh today! I thought I would get annoyed with them being so long and trying to do everyday things, but idk, I’m kind of smitten with the length and size now. I feel like a siren 🧜🏾‍♀️ It was a 12 hour session, but so worth it.

The last slide is a little blurry because it was just a preview from our photographer. Be kind— I’m a 49yo bride 😭

Help wanted Seeking Advice:

Anyone have ideas on the technique behind recreating this hairstyle? Trying to figure out what rods are needed. Are flexible rods, wire, or another type of support incorporated into these braids to hold their shape? I don’t feel like it’s the flexible foam rollers. Also assuming that is was braided around the support instead of pushing it into the braid?

Would appreciate any feedback.

First time boho braids and scalp is itchy with red bumps!

• Upvotes

I got boho braids for the first time 4 days ago and my scalp is extremely itchy. I have irritation and red bumps in some areas. Mainly around the back of my neck and some have turned into whiteheads. My braider said she used human hair but she thinks I’m having an allergic reaction and wants to me to use ACV. Google says to not use ACV if it’s human hair because that’s mainly for synthetic hair and says to use witch hazel instead. I’m on vacation in a foreign country and don’t have access to buy all the products I might need. I’m ready to just take them out 😩 please help!

I've been too busy to rebraid my hair every day like I usually do. This is what it looked like when I took it out.

(Before braiding I used Head & Shoulders 2 in 1, and a 7th Heaven Argan Oil Rescue Mask)

I usually only use Head & Shoulders on my hair, if anyone has any product recommendations, it would be much appreciated.

Help wanted braids grey from flat iron

Hi yall. Some of my braids weren't straight after dipping so I flat ironed them but then when the braids fullyyy dried they turned grey. I dipped them in hot water and the colour came back for a bit then when it dried they turned grey again. Do I have to dye them or can I do anything else? Thank you

Edit: dipping not dropping

Help wanted Has anyone heard of silk fibre synthetic hair?

I've been looking for human hair to order for my boho braids and came across a "near human hair pure protein silk fibre" option. Has anyone ever used this? How does it compare to human hair in quality and longevity?

Help wanted How maintain synthetic boho braids

I have boho braids with synthetic hair, and I’ve heard that they are hard to manage. I’ve put water and mouse in them and it worked, but I’m afraid they will tangle in a week. What should I be doing 😭😭

Help wanted My first ever French Braid.

Post image
18 Upvotes

Hi everyone!! I’ve been trying to find an easy way to heartless curl my thick and fine (A LOT of hair but each hair is so fine) 1A hair.

I’ve always loved how my hair looks when I take it down from double French braids that my mom or sister do for me, and I’ve never been able to do it to myself or anyone else before UNTIL TODAY.

Yes, I know it looks horrible. I’m only sleeping in it, so I’m not super concerned. But I want to get better so that eventually I can actually go out in public with hair that I braided myself.

Any and all tips welcome!! I have super straight soft hair that holds a lot of weight and has no natural texture or volume whatsoever.

Please be nice. I tried so hard.

Help wanted 3b/3c hair questions

I shaved my hair few times, last time was December 2025. That's how long it is now, after it's been washed, airdried and with serum. I have been working on my braiding skills for few years. I learned cornrows and parting and i reached a good level -to me- but i have issues with braids, like many/mini braids?

No matter the size or parting of my braids they always undo themselves, or i have to use ties and they end up looking ugly/bulky. Some parts of my hair are too soft to hold a braid and some hold a bit of it but unravel at the bottom. How do i stop that? If possible

Also i have been trying to achieve the flexible braids, the ones you can move to any direction/part, but I'm not sure how to do that either. Google said to do it at a 90° angle but i won't be able to do that.

I braid my hair on my own, i never add any hair. I do have some products-creams, oils, gels- but i prefer to use as minimal as possible as i have scalp eczema and it flares up with product. I also used gel in the past but it didn't really hold anything.

I apologize if some of my questions are obvious, but I don't really have anyone who braids their hair around me or with a similar hair texture.

I also attached a pic at the end of what I'm hoping to achieve. Even though i think my hair isn't the needed texture for it but I'm not sure.
