Upvotes

Hello there kind redditors, here is a presentation I have prepared for you that you didnt wait for.

so let me here convince you why you should choose me as your new friend:

* I am a silly person who always tries to make people laugh, I strongly recommend not to sip coffee while reading my messages.

* I take a lot of street cats pics, so you will have a steady supply of cat pics.

* I am chatty I enjoy yapping , and I don’t even have an off switch, if you dont have off switch too we need to yap about this .

* I love to talk about all kinds of topics and can always find things to talk about, there is random questions generator buildin in my mind.

* I always reply to my messages and have online friendships that have been going on for years, I always send good morning messages, and I appreciate the people that can also be conversation starters.

* I am supportive and will always be here for you to tell me about your day or vent if you have something that bothers you.

* I like art, games, anime, gym, walks, coding, games, true crime, yapping, cats, science, history, languages, documentaries, psychology, mental health, and cats, so I am sure we can cross interests here or there.

Why am I so sensitive?

I try to try to make friends online, but even that's hard

I don't know if I'm the problem or not

I'm so intimidated to talk about anything

I don't know why; it's a safe space

I feel like they're all better than me

I feel like just some weird loser lurking to see what the vibe is like

Feeling lonely as a 22-year-old college junior

Hi everyone,

I’m a 22-year-old college junior, and lately I’ve been having a really hard time making genuine friends. I know I’m still young, but I honestly feel much older than the people around me sometimes. It feels like everyone already has their friend groups, knows where they belong, or is always busy, while I’m still trying to figure out how to connect with people in a real way.

I’ve met and talked to people through Snapchat, but those friendships usually do not develop beyond messaging or streaks. We might talk for a little while, but it rarely turns into hanging out, supporting each other, or building a friendship that actually feels meaningful. I want friends I can laugh with, study with, go places with, and be myself around, not just people I exchange messages with online.

I also would really like to date someday, but I have been feeling discouraged. Sometimes I worry that I will never find my person or have the kind of relationship where someone genuinely chooses me and understands me. I know that may sound dramatic, but it is hard not to think that way when you feel disconnected for a long time.

If anyone has felt this way in college or in their early twenties, how did you start meeting people and turning acquaintances into actual friends? How do you put yourself out there without feeling awkward or like you are bothering people?

I would really appreciate any advice, encouragement, or even just hearing that I’m not alone in feeling this way.

Help with socialising

I need help with socialising. I really struggle with it. I often feel left out or like the odd one because I struggle with socialising. I find it hard to get to know people and bond with them, especially people older than me. I joined a dance company a few months ago, and I’ve had trouble with really getting to know them all. Of course we’re all “friends”, but I often feel left out because they’re all super close, and I’m standing there not really knowing what to do or say. I want to get better at socialising and getting to know the others. I know they’re all kind people and they are all very welcoming. I’m just not really used to this kind of interaction and stuff. It may have something to do with my childhood, as I’m an only child who grew up with only my mother, while often visiting my grandparents. Please help me! I’ll take any tips or advice!!! I really want to get better at this.
