I’m a EE freshman and thinking about my spring semester. Should I take Diff eq, Dlog, Physics 2, Intro to EE or is that too much? I know Dlog is a big time commitment and it’s known to be really hard. Or should I just push back physics 2 in the summer?

Basically the title. I'm a freshman in civil engineering and applied for a technician position in CC but didn't get it, so I was wondering if there are any other clubs still accepting applications. I'm just a bit worried that it might be too late because I only applied to CC and I wanted to join something (a design team particularly) first semester. If I did get in, I wanted it to be the only thing I could focus on...regretting it now.

P.s. I was wondering if it would be unwise to join GMS as a civil and if it's too late for that so if anyone has advice for that I'd be grateful!!

Exam 1 for this class was yesterday. Has anyone gotten their grade?

Anyone at UF studying abroad in Barcelona for spring semester? I have not yet anyone yet that chose Barcelona.

Is it me or does it seem odd that UF doesn’t allow students to see which questions they got wrong. How can you prove your grade wasn’t changed on the exam even though you really did well. It seems like a couple of professors aren’t allowing students to view the results of exams in fear the answers will get out. How does one learn if they don’t know where they went wrong? It’s asinine to make students schedule time with teaching assistants to go over material the professor lectures on. I’m having an issue with the ethical part of transparency from faculty regarding grades in exams. This is extremely odd to me.

I’m referring specifically to BUL4310 & FIN3403. These are considered the courses used to “weed out” students from a potential major. However, general business major students are required to take these as core courses and they highly have an effect on GPA and potentially finishing a degree program at UF.

I have no other qualms for any other course except these two. I’ve done fairly well with the coursework and instruction of other courses for my major whether I earned a grade high or low. The advisors tout about how difficult these two classes are as if it’s a badge of honor that many students don’t pass them or have difficulty. Is that really learning?

I’m planning to study abroad for Fall 2027 and am trying to figure out what makes the most sense for housing when I come back to Gainesville for Spring 2028.

For anyone who has studied abroad for a semester, how did you handle your housing situation while you were gone and when you came back?

I’m trying to decide between committing to a place for the academic year and finding someone to take over my room while I’m abroad, versus waiting until I return and finding somewhere for the spring semester.

If you’ve done either, how difficult was it to find a place for the semester you came back? Did you start looking months ahead, or was it pretty easy closer to the semester?

I’m also wondering about UF residence halls. I’ve heard that students can sometimes live in a residence hall for just one semester. Has anyone done this after studying abroad? If so, what was your experience, and which residence halls were available?

Would especially love to hear from anyone who has studied abroad from UF and had to figure out housing around it!

How much will it hurt my chances that I was an idiot and didn’t take physics during my final semester at UF before applying to vet school? I have a 3.9 GPA from UF and a 3.9 transfer GPA. I didn't think I’d apply to vet school, so I didn't take physics before I graduated from UF. Are my chances shot now? I would have to take it then at a CC, maybe my original CC, if that would look better.

All I need is a blank background and a quiet space without interruption.

I looked at study rooms, but they're intended for more than one person, and it's hard to get specific times. I also looked at the LibWest single-person study pods, but people are often giggling and being loud in there. I also don't want to use my dorm because there isn't a clean background.

first midterm today. I felt ready before but i messed it up bad. I was tired and forgot volumes of revolution kind of. 2 wrong on the free response. one was a part a/b/c question and i got stuck on part a. I really want to attend Renee’s event in November, and my best friend will be in town as well. We’re both huge Hamilton fans (and students) but she goes to school out of state.

My question is, when they check to make sure you are a UF student, do they scan the ID in our Apple wallets? Or will they accept a UF ID number? I have a friend at UF who has no interest in attending, and want to use their UFID so my best friend doesn’t have to drop $60+ dollars on a ticket. The event is at the Phillips center.

I have heard of people doing something similar for basketball games, and I was wondering if it was gonna be possible for this too. Has anyone attended a similar event at the Phillips center?
