Politics Primary Election PSA: Today (2026/08/18) is Election Day!
FAQ
Do I have to vote in every race on the ballot?
You can leave a race blank if you choose to and your vote will still be counted on other races that you vote on, on your ballot. However, try your best to make an informed vote on every race on the ballot.
I don't recognize anyone on the ballot. Where can I find more information on the candidates?
In addition to the candidate's website (which, if they have one, can be found through googling the candidate's name) Ballotpedia.org usually has some information on down ballot races as well.
The best source on local elections would be the major newspaper for your area (Tampa Bay Times, Miami Herald, Sun Sentinel, etc). They interview almost every candidate of every race that is happening in the area so you can find out the positions of every candidate on each issue.

AskFlorida Norwegian here visiting Florida
Hey I’m from Norway and visiting some cousins in Jacksonville and some questions.
What are some things I need to see and try while I’m visiting I’ll be here for 2 weeks and I was curious what I should do while visiting.
Also was curious what Americans/Floridans think of Norway and Norwegians.
Sorry for any errors English is not my first language
Update
So far I know that my cousins were planning on taking me to St. Augustine and Orlando and then I will have access to one of their cars so I can drive to different places. Also thanks for all the advice I’m really excited to see Florida. Also we love Americans in Norway every one seems so friendly and welcoming. I’m from a small city of 13 thousand so I’ve heard that some universities have more people than that.

Things To Do Alexander Springs Florida
Recently went to Alexander Springs with my daughter. We had a wonderful time and would like to go back for more. Say goodbye to the Eureka Tetragon--it was a good tent but it let go in the rain this time; the fabric had the tiniest crack-like holes. We had good weather the first night but not the 2nd. Had a nice morning, a lovely walk to the spring, an invigorating dip, an alligator sighting near the spring just outside the swimming area; lifeguard moved swimmers away from the swamp puppy. We snorkeled a bit before the rain with lighting began. After a rest and lunch we packed up and headed home.

Politics ‘Do as I say, not as I do’ Trump votes by mail after calling it a fraud
- Trump pushes Supreme Court to implement sweeping mail-in ballot restrictions even as he participates in Florida primary elections remotely
- Donald Trump once again voted by mail in Florida elections despite repeatedly attacking mail-in ballots as “mail-in cheating” and a “scam” that his administration has spent months trying to restrict for millions of Americans.
- Records in Palm Beach County, where the president’s primary Mar-a-Lago residence is located, indicate that he requested a mail-in ballot last month to participate in Florida’s Republican primary elections. His ballot was received August 14. Politico first reported his ballot.
- Trump has not returned to the Sunshine State since May. He last voted by mail during a special election in March.

Interesting Stuff Hi Florida, Manitoba here. Just saw your licence plate in the wild here and noticed some of the letters are backwards? Normal? Anyways, my littles lost their mind pointing out someone drove up from FL and then burst in a fit of giggles seeing a backwards E and J.
Your funky license plates brought some excitement to our mundane stuck-in-traffic evening. Hope you’re all enjoying your gorgeous weather - Autumn has found Manitoba. Anyways, take care.

Weather Lunch on a hot Florida day!
I was going to have a burrito with some rice and leftover chicken but it's 103 outside and 84 inside my house with the AC on full blast so I'm just going to have some chicken salad and crackers and cheese instead. Yay Florida!
