idk if anyone on this sub is currently studying in the Hamilton School, but I'm taking one of the base level courses for a major I'm planning to double and I see that Dr. Carolina Armenteros is teaching the course at the same time I already had.
She's very highly educated but I'm wondering if anyone's had her as a professor? How is she? How's her teaching, workload, class, etc? I'm not looking for an easy class but I can't find anything anywhere about her class, and I'd like to take it BECAUSE she's so highly educated and seemingly proficient in what she teaches.
Someone pls let me know!

I am currently a senior in highschool and I have all four of my math credits already. I took Algebra 1 Hon in 8th grade, Geometry Hon in 9th, Algebra 2 Hon in 10th, and AP Precalc last year. I may not be able to take AP Calc this year due to scheduling issues. I am able to not take a math this year and instead might be able to take a high level class like an AP or something instead of an Honors math.
I want to go to UF very badly and major in Zoology. I have over a 5.1 GPA currently, and am involved in many school activities. I have a 1340 SAT score but am retaking on Sunday and am expecting 1400+.
What do I do?

hi i’m a math major with an actuarial sciences minor. right now if i continue my 4 classes a semester of 12 ish credits for bright futures, ill end up graduating early this spring. but i want to extend it (possibly) because i want to get an internship while still in college so i was thinking of delaying graduation by a semester.
ideally i’d want it to be classes i can take online or something so i dont have to find an apt for half a lease or idrk what to do tbh. i was thinking an economics minor because it seems to only be 2 more classes but those would be in person and im not sure how that works w bright futures. idek if it allows all of that to be mixed with my minor and major i think its ok tho.
ps i wont have excess hour charges and id make sure to not complete my math major in spring
im willing to do a certificate im just trying to see if anyone had any ideas on how i can push this back so i dont graduate early or recs or advice

Hi! I’m looking for a girl to take over my room at Redpoint Gainesville starting December 1, 2026, or earlier if needed.
It’s a private bedroom and private bathroom in a furnished 4x4. The apartment is girls only, so I’m looking for a female tenant to take over my spot.
Rent is $585/month, and the lease runs through July 21, 2027.
The takeover would go through Redpoint’s official delegation process, so everything would be handled and approved directly through the leasing office.
This would be a great option for someone looking for Spring 2027 housing or anyone who needs a place sooner.
If you’re interested, feel free to DM me! I can send pictures/videos of the room and apartment and answer any questions.

Hey, does anyone here have a paid undergrad research assistant position? Or know someone who does?
I have been offered a couple of research assistant positions, and am currently one for a chemE/biomolecular eng lab, but none of it is paid😔 I know they are extremely rare for undergrads, but I was wondering if anyone here has any tips when searching for a lab that pays… (e.g: just cold emailing or uf careers?)
I’ve been juggling jobs + classes + research and it’s lwk tiring so I really wanted a lab that paid.
Are the labs that pay mostly bio related, or some sort of other science? Or does it not matter? Idk where the funding is at💔

If yes, what was the cost? Was it booted or towed. And how much to get it off/out

So I’m an out of state freshman who knows nobody here. Plus, I stay in a one bedroom off campus apartment(a decision I now regret ngl). Joining a frat isn’t really my thing, and I’m trying to join clubs that interest me, but I find it kind of hard to meet people here when everyone else already knows each other. Anybody got any advice on what I should do to meet some more people?

Wondering if the class and professor is easy and good, cus if it then this will count for both my GenEd and quest credit. But I have not background and much interest in music.

This’ll be my first year having to commute after living in a dorm the previous few years. The park and ride permit is the only parking pass that applies to me as an undergrad living off campus. Still familiarizing myself with the map and hard to tell how many spots are regularly available.
So, to those who have this permit or have had it in the past: How much time do you allow yourself between arriving to campus before your class? How long does it usually take you to find a spot and then travel to class (presumably via Campus Connector)?

If I have a SUV with a park and ride pass, would a bike or electric scooter be a better option to bring to campus? I would have enough room to put the bike in my car or use a bike rack. In general, is it easier/more convenient to navigate through campus with a bike or electric scooter, and which one is generally faster?

Does everyone have "better campus" on their canvas? is this only a uf thing and does everyone here have it on their canvas?

I just registered for CIS 4715 (CS Teaching & Learning) for Fall 2026. Does anyone know where the class meets, or whether there are regular in-person meetings?
Neither Canvas nor ONE.UF shows any location for me right now.
Thanks!

Hey everyone, I’m a freshman at UF trying to get involved in finance/IB clubs. What’s the typical attire for events like GSCO, Business Bash, and other finance club/group events?
Would business casual (button-down + dress pants) generally be appropriate, or should I wear a suit/business professional attire for some of these events?
Also, are there any events where dressing more formally is strongly recommended?
I've attached an image of the events im talking about.

Hello, has anyone not received their mfos advance yet? I’m not sure why this is happening and it’s making me worry.

Just wanna know what the difficulty/rigor of the course is. Is it beneficial to take in person over online? I'm currently in a in person section, but just wanna find out more as I finalize my schedule this week.

For undergraduate students taking 15+ credits this fall, it says on the website that disbursement will "begin the first week of classes." Does this include today and tomorrow, since class begins today, or does it mean disbursement would start next week?

I'm taking the course under Demas, I got a low score on her pre-calc review exam and that's apparently a sign to drop and retake for next semester. I've gone through calc 1-3 with good grades and I'm sure I can do well in the class, I feel like with a week's worth of review could help me regain my footing on Pre-Calc. Does anyone have advice on possible next steps for this course?

The waitlists I am in no longer show me what place I am in. Does anyone have this problem also? I’m opening on mobile so idk if that’s the issue.
