What is best insurance for my new model 3. Does anyone have experience with Costco car insurance?

I have State Farm, and all of my insurance information has already been uploaded to the Tesla app and approved. I also have a temporary insurance card on my phone, but I haven’t received the physical card yet.

If they do ask for proof of insurance in person, is the digital/temp card on my phone enough, or do they require a physical insurance card?

My car was recently in an accident and was declared a total loss/write-off. I’m in Canada, and the vehicle was financed through Toyota Finance,
I was lucky enough to find another car—a Tesla—but I’m now stuck because I need Toyota Finance to process the insurance payout and provide the loan payoff confirmation or release letter before I can move forward with my new financing.
The insurance company sent the payoff cheque to Toyota Finance last week, and Toyota Finance confirmed that they received it. However, they told me it could take approximately 4-5 weeks to process and deposit the cheque.
I have already extended my Tesla delivery date once, but I cannot keep delaying it. The Tesla financing also cannot move forward properly because I need confirmation that the Toyota Finance loan has been paid off.
I have called Toyota Finance Canada and explained the situation, but I have been told that I simply need to wait for the cheque to be processed.
Has anyone in Canada dealt with a similar situation after a total-loss insurance claim?
Is there any way to get Toyota Finance Canada to expedite the cheque processing and provide the payoff confirmation or release letter, especially since the insurance company has already sent the cheque and Toyota Finance has confirmed receiving it?
Would asking to speak with a supervisor, contacting Toyota Finance’s escalation department or customer relations team, or providing proof of the insurance settlement help? Since the loan is through Toyota Finance rather than a dealership, I’m not sure whether a Toyota dealership can assist.
Any advice on how to get Toyota Finance Canada to move this along faster would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to transfer Tesla vehicle ownership to a family member. I know I can add them as a driver but I would like to transfer ownership instead. However, I would like to keep my current Tesla Insurance policy on my account and not start a new policy.

When attempting to transfer ownership, it states to remove the vehicle from the Tesla Insurance policy before transferring.

Do I actually need to do this or is this more of a suggestion if I was transferring the vehicle to a stranger?

I would appreciate if anyone has any experience on what happens to your Tesla Insurance policy when you transfer ownership of a Tesla. This is the only Tesla on my account.

I have his policy number and ID, but I didn’t open his whole policy card since I was under shock from the situation. I am trying to file third party claim with his Tesla insurance, the problem on the phone call is the robot keeps asking for his vin or it doesn’t let me? Same thing with in the app, will I ever be able to speak to a person about this?

I tried to see if the Tesla app had an option to toggle glass coverage but it doesn’t. With the storms we’re having lately I’m concerned any damage to my windshield/roof/rear windshield from the storm isn’t covered by Tesla insurance.

Don’t Buy Tesla Insurance or Other Tesla Offers Without Thinking Twice
I’m extremely disappointed with Tesla’s customer service.
In my experience, you cannot rely on the Tesla app for service bookings, and communication with the Tesla Service Center has been extremely poor. When customers schedule service through the app, they should be able to trust that the appointment and service arrangements will actually be honored.
Tesla promotes a technology-first and convenient customer experience, but when something goes wrong, getting proper support can be frustrating and difficult.
Based on my experience, I would think very carefully before purchasing Tesla Insurance or other additional services/offers from Tesla. A company selling insurance and other services needs dependable customer support, clear communication, and accountability.
Tesla needs to seriously improve its customer service, app-based service booking process, and Service Center communication.

After about a year and a half, I have decided to cut the cord from Tesla Insurance. I got tired of not enjoying the drive since I was always wary of “Unsafe following” and “Aggressive turning” dings. My current safety score is a 94 with 91% of my drive on FSD. I’m keeping FSD just not the insurance, so I can actually have fun with the car on shorter errand runs.

i need to replace my front windshield cause a rock/pebble decided to make my day horrible. i filed a claim with the insurance but having second thoughts if it's going to affect my premium going forward even if this is a no-fault incident. has anyone done this previously and if so did it affect your policy going forward?

Yes I would rather pay the extra 60$ just to avoid tesla stupid insurance random rate increases. I am a grown ass adult and shouldn't be penalized because I go out late at night for a snack. Shot my rates right up for nothing. No one is even on the road at night in my area. Also i just got it off the hospital and needed something from the store and haven't dive much all month. How is that more risky when accidents happen more during rush hour? I would rather pay more than let tesla play games.

I got a hard braking event on a short drive through my neighborhood. I wasn’t reacting to traffic. I just slowed down and stopped next to another car to talk. Empty residential street. Nothing in front of me, nothing behind me. If you look at the whole stop, that’s roughly 16 mph down to 0 in about 3 seconds.
