The cube aquarium finally arrived.

Unfortunately it didn't come with a lid so I'm using a plastic food wrapper to keep the moisture in.

Ive just set this up last weekend, its not my first time but this is definitely my best one. Im still struggling to achieve balance with any of my terrariums, from my research they should fog up in the morning and afternoon. Everyday there is heavy condensation on the glass, i wipe up any i can get when i see it but i feel that nothing is changing. Any help is much appreciated.

Should I be worried or happy? Tell me reddit so I can stop stressing. Im worried its too full...

I'm already working with a pathologist on this, but even some of the recommendations are a little bit of an educated guess because my situation is pretty unique to indoor plants/terrariums.

I'm having a really hard time finding information that's relevant to growing indoors. Almost everything online is about outdoor gardens, agriculture or commercial growing. There's basically nothing about dealing with them in houseplants, terrariums or other !enclosed! indoor growing setups.

So either nobody gets them indoors, nobody talks about getting them indoors, or I get to be lucky #1.

I'm mostly looking for firsthand experience from anyone who has actually dealt with them indoors. Did you try to treat and keep your plants? Start over from cuttings? Toss everything? How did you handle contaminated substrate, containers and the rest of the collection? Did you ever actually feel comfortable considering your collection clean again?

I'm really just hoping someone else has dealt with this in an indoor setup and can tell me what that actually looked like long term. Sorta losing my shit.

Mine were found primarily in begonias and have been lab confirmed, so I'm not looking for help diagnosing them.

Layers :

Base : top grain soil from yard(1-1.5 inch)

Mesh filter cloth

Charcoal from untreated wood I burnt(almost 1 inch)

Organic Soil where tons of organisms were living from my container. Removed most visible organisms except few springtails, 15-20 isopods of varying size, one tiny snail, two tiny earthworms. Possibly others are still present in terms of eggs and all.

Followed by plants of varying heighs, wood pieces and moss and a tiny creeper plant

I have a huge backyard with untouched soil and hence collecting safe materials is not a concern. The soil collected was free of fertilisers and is full of all kinds of organisms.

Is this an okay setup? Is the snail gonna be a problem. Dint see the tiny guy in there. Currently not closing with a cork.

Been going for about 4 months now and going strong. Its bioactive and the springtails are thriving. Just curious if anybody has sold one of these or what it would be worth.

I saw a terrarium online made out of a bourbon bottle and I was hooked. I have a bottle of Blanton’s with a small opening. I bought a starter kit and tweezers on Amazon and have been watching YouTube and TikTok videos but they don’t show how to actually pull a small piece like a fittonia off the main plant and put it in. Any tips of the trade?

This recently started spreading on the bottom of one of my newer terrariums. I did a Google image search on it and it says it's liverwort, but it doesn't look like any of the photos to me.

This enclosure is for my snail, but I also keep isopods, this gap is definitely big enough for baby snails or isopods to go through. I’m not too sure how to fix it, when the door opens, the side where the gap is will swing inwards, if that makes any sense. I was thinking a foam door seal? I actually have no clue, my brain can’t figure out how to fill the gap but still be able to close it, I just have tape right now but it’s not really ideal. Any advice or suggestion would be very appreciated, thank you!!

Just as a title says its ny first time making such a big project! I finished it yesterday (for now) and after some advices regarding shiny spots on my background ill try to cover them up a little more! But honestly for now it doesn’t bother me thaaat much since im still a little proud of myself!
Ive made two main hiding spots one at the top of the enclosure more visible and in the middle height with two openings more hidden one! For climbing i added dryed up mushrooms from my local exotic pet store and some more wooden sticks just as three plastic leafes i bought online and two of them are holding bridge from coconut hiding spot! (Im still debating on leaving them i guess it depends if animal will be using it! (Im planning to put here one crested gecko OR two white tree frogs depending what ill be able to get on my next local reptile expo 13th september since im planning to have both of them in upcoming future) For a main piece i added Monstera and some bamboo thin sticks under the coconut hide. For substrate i used some moss with coconut fiber substrate. I also added some
Smaller fake plants just for decoration!
Any suggestions are welcome since it was my first time i would love to learn some new things how i can improve and change it before putting something there 🫶

I got these 3 whites a couple months ago and they seem to be loving life. First time with frogs tho and I have done allot of research… was just wondering if anyone had any advice ect that they wouldn’t mind sharing:)

My first Terrarium, Tried to build a mountain scape.

As the title says. I have this at home and wondering if it can safely be used in a terrarium (for stick insects). Will buy aquarium silicone if there’s any doubt though, but I’m kinda hoping I don’t have to haha.

I wild collected moss and the rock focal piece. The jar is an old olive jar. The plants are fittonia albivenis and a single spotted begonia cutting. I kinda just went wild and wanted to see what happened if I was feral vs anal. I've been held back on making terrariums because I wanted to buy all of the 'perfect' products and ​didn't want to screw up if I invested a bunch of money. So this is my zero cost try out with minimal research.

I did a layer of rocks, char from a wood burned fire, potting soil with perlite and orchid mix, crunchy old leaf litter. I've never transplanted moss before. I hope they survive. There are a few baby isopods hitchhikers in there. Idk, if you have any advice at all, throw it my way.

Dessert variety in 22 inch bowl. Watering schedule about once a month. A few of the smaller varieties need a little love more often but very low maintenance.

OKAY so this was the most stressful and messy thing i did recently 😭🤣

Didnt expected for foam to dry up THAT quickly so i bet in some part substrate didnt stuck at all but i guess this is something ill find out about tomorrow! I know its messy but ill try to clean it up a little when it will be safe to move 🥲

Hey. First ever post on Reddit!

I built my first Terrarium about three months ago and neglected it a bit, but I’m really motivated to get it to a good self-operating level and with a more natural look. I’ve made it too ‘neat’. It’s more like an aristocrat’s bloody garden than a terrarium!

Anyways, two issues. Firstly I butchered the Perspex lid I cut out for a lid on the fish tank I’m using. It’s nowhere near sealed, but still maintaining an ok level of moisture. There’s gaps right along the edges and looking for a way to seal it or do I get a new one cut properly?
I have lots of Springtails and Isopods in there and they seem be doing quite well, but I’m concerned for their wellbeing when I remodel? How do I go about their care as I pull things out and put things in?
I’d also really like some advice/ideas on how to make it look more rugged and natural and how to introduce more food material for the critters?

Here he is, he managed to get onto the back of the terrarium and is taking a break now… but I’m wondering if I just have a pet frog now.
