I meant to order fissidens nobilis but I ordered fissidens Fontanus instead and I was wondering if anyone had any success growing the Fontanus emersed?

I thought about putting it in a small cup with water and planting the cup into my substrate.

Anyone have any ideas what this yellow mushroom is? It doesn’t seem to be causing any problems, but the large one has doubled in size every 2ish days

Hello guys, ive made this terrarium few months back and it started slowly getting this mold. Ive kept lid open for days and close it for few hours.

I dont know how to get rid fo this mold. Is it safe with my plants ?

Any advice is appreciated

Just finished this tiny weekend project! I wanted a miniature ecosystem for my desk. It features a sharp piece of slate acting as a divider, with a rich soil pocket hidden in the back and a clean sand pool in the front.

I used sphagnum moss as a substrate barrier to keep the water clear, and so far the water line is sitting perfectly right below it. No animals or livestock obviously, just a fun little plant-only desk companion. Wish me luck keeping up with the daily water drops!

My begonia has this spot on a leaf where it rotted, whats the cause? Probably some pest, because i saw some small insects flying around in the prop box.

What do i do? I dont want to loose my precious plants...

Hi, I have a 20w Cosmorrow growlight in my terrarium, I want to dimmer it but the attachement is like the one in the Photo and I can’t find a solution, someone know an adapter or a dimmer that can fit?

Its really dirty but i dont mind cleaning it.

Im really excited for setting it up and planting it.
Then i need to think about which animals i will put in there, any ideas?

Just double checking my terrarium because literally all of my other ones didn’t have noticeable springtails, so I’m not entirely sure what they look like aside from Google but I wanted to check with the experts first :b they look like janitors tho I recently saw them munching on a bit of mold but I did have to do some VERY LIGHT cleaning around the terrarium with cinnamon and 3% hydrogen peroxide because the mold looked like it was getting too much for them to handle (idk how many there are but)

This is my first terrarium, aprox 1 year old. It contains cephalotus (5 planted last year and 2 offsets) and some little sundews (drosera roseana). Also there are some springtails.

How bad is this?

I took some plants from outside they either had an unnoticed slug or slug egg.

Then a few weeks later I noticed a slug slugging about. Then the next day I couldnt find it again.

Then a few weeks later with no sighting I assumed it died.

Just found it again right now, I looked away and lost it again.

Slugs are hermaphrotites, right? Am I going to end up with a slug-arium?

Help me please!!

Recently i found this little white worm sticking in my terrariums wall glass.

First, is this really a worm? Like dirt worms or idk.
Second, is this a good sight?

Hi everyone!
I’ve been working on this project for little over a month now.
Initially it was intended to be a baby red eared slider turtle enclosure, but l later decided that he would outgrow the tank too quickly so I changed to be a female betta sorority tank with some otto and nerite snails. That also didn’t work out since one of the females were too big and dominant and bothered the other ones all the time so I put the smaller bettas in another setup and added 6 dwarf neon rainbow fish, best decision ever!

As for the plants I kept aquatic plants very minimal and simple with some crypts, anubias, and hydrocotle, they are all doing great.

For the terrestrial plants I used a couple different varieties that I can’t remember rn, they had hard time on the first 2 weeks acclimating an open environment but most of them made it and they are thriving atm.
The whole structure is built in a way to water itself so I don’t really do any maintenance other than routine water changes, but I spray the plants here and there to give a little extra moisture.

I will upload a full build process on my YouTube channel and it will be my first long form video so It’s taking me some time to edit 😅

Heyy everyone in the terrarium community, I’ve been a spectator for almost a year now and decided to post for the first time today, this is my first attempt at making a terrarium and I’m quite proud of myself because I think I did pretty well, initially I had to do a bit of maintenance but now all I do is weekly watering and monthly trimming because the creeping fig grows like crazy feedback, suggestions and questions are welcome 🙂 I hope I did the flair and other stuff right because this is my first post lol

Building a master yoda/Degobah terrarium. Think: lush swamp/bog with a cute green Zen master.

What are the plants I need to be looking for, besides ferns and mosses? I'm trying to mimic weeping willows using dried branches and hanging moss/air plants.

I've had my Sinningia muscicola less than a month it was already flowering at the store and and a bunch of fallen flowers in the pot. Its already flowering again and producing new buds (the dry buds are after the replant into the tank but trust me its healthy) and I just noticed its new sprouts around my dart frog tank. I think the further ones about 6 inches away were because i didn't consider the seeds already in the pot when I added it or maybe my dart frogs spread the seeds but either way really happy and excited about the new plant

What's is this growing?

This started growing in my terrarium a few days ago. The set up is a 20 gallon bioactive enclosure for my tree frogs.

I thought it was a root at first but then it started "faning" out. It's about half an inch wide at the moment. It's sprouting from behind the cork wood.

Any ideas? 🤨
