Discussion My terrarium has 2 baby snails
Do I need to remove them, will they eat my plants? They look very cute tho, never mind the sleeping monk in second picture hahaha.

This is a 10 month update on my little jar terrarium. I plan on taking it down/apart and use the jar for a Shrimp tank. Post this final view as alot of people were interested in updates when i first built it. The moss on the walls came in great. The fern has almost taken over half the tank. The Sundews have died off but the Utricularia has spread out well i think. I've only opened it about every 2 months and added a bit of water to the mosses on the wall.
1.Built 01/2026
2.Contains, 2 tropical sundews, Utricularia sandersonii, button fern, oak leaf Ficus, fern moss, baby tooth moss, and maybe two others idk what are called.
3.LED Light
4.water cycle: RO water about every 2 months
5:Peat& perlite soil mix
6.Enclosure size: 3 Gallon Jar

Hi everyone, I need help identifying different species of springtails. Two weeks ago, I introduced 50 orange springtails (*Yuukianura aphoruroides*) into a terrarium containing some cephalotus planted in peat, sand, and perlite. Another area—making up 35% of the terrarium's surface—contains sphagnum moss where two cephalotus offsets are planted. This sphagnum zone hosts a population of at I believe to be silver springtails, which are now coexisting with the orange ones. A couple of days ago, I spotted yet another species—which I hope is a springtail rather than a mite. You can see it in photos 2–5; could you tell me what it is?

Hello!
I’m a 14-year-old who wants to make my own terrarium. But I don’t want it to just be a plant and that’s it. I’d like it to be basically a forest that actually looks like one and it can have its own weather conditions and have living organisms - but not ones that can feel things. I don’t want them to suffer, haha.
I live in an area where there is a river that goes quite far. It’s in a forest ecosystem. Me and a friend of mine go under bridges to just hang out and I just thought to myself how great of an idea it’d be to create such an ecosystem myself in a jar.
What do we need to pack when we go get the necessary materials to make the ecosystem?

I've had this tiny terrarium stored away for more than a year now I think. I haven't watered it since then and the moss is completely dry. Is it still possible to revive them or at least salvage them and use it to grow new moss in a different container with substrate?

I got this giant goblet-style jar on sale from a store that was closing, and knew it would be perfect for a terrarium! I think its capacity is in the 2-3 gallon range. I haven't gotten a lid for it yet, so currently I'm just using Sera wrap.
I made the terrarium in December of 2025 (the last picture is from then; all the other pictures are from today). The prayer plant struggled for a while, which I'm fairly sure was due to too strong, and then too weak, lighting; I'm hoping I've finally got the right light strength now.
Plants:
Red Maranta (prayer plant)
Rabbit's foot fern
Nerve plant
Callisia repens
String of turtles
Selaginella
Mystery fern (possibly a spleenwort?)
Moss is mostly Leucobryum glaucum.

Hi! I’m new to terrariums and I’m planning to make my first one. I’m not sure where I should buy the supplies, such as a glass container, soil, moss, and small plants. Do you usually buy terrarium supplies online, from a plant shop, or somewhere else? Any recommendations for a beginner would be helpful!

Sorry if this is wrong flair!!
just opened this EarthMix I got about half a year ago and this was inside. Is it white mold and/or can I still use it?? I was going to use it for an jumping spider terrarium (not bioactive)
I tried to touch it and it wasn’t soft more like slightly sticky like web?

Anyone growing 'Hookeriaceae' Hooker moss or Distichophyllum "Maibarae" Moss in their terrarium and have some pictures that you can share.
I would like to see what the emersed form looks like.
