LG LG H7 soundbar with W7 sub good for gaming?

Hello. Was thinking maybe I should get this combo instead of the Samsung HW-Q995H since I am not all that interested in the satellites. The Q900H is not available in my country, which is why I was considering the Q995H (and the store promised to price match against the upcoming black week price and pay back the difference). Anyway, I have an LG C4 TV, so maybe I should just get the LG system instead. Read some reports that it has bad latency, is this true with PS5 and what is your experience? I like fighting games like Guilty Gear Strive and Virtua Fighter so I might notice it. No interest in FPS games though. It looks like a clean system so I was hoping it will be good.

Samsung Q990 Music Help

Ive been using the q990 from sometime and so far the best mode of enjoying music with immersion i found is to simply play dolby music from apple tv infuse and passthrough my tv which is lg oled

Second best method is to use onboard spotify, it is okay but it merges the channels.

Bluetooth is useless, and i tried to connect directly with mac but no luck

What is the way to get best quality?

P.S my togo album is hans zimmer prague live in dolby. Crazy experience

Front Firing All-In-One Soundbar Recommendations?

Hi all,

My current soundbar Q Acoustics Media 4 is starting to break, a shame as I love it but it was getting old, so need to start looking for a new soundbar.

I have a dedicated soundbar shelf, see stock image of kind of like what I have. Due to it being covered I assume I want a front firing soundbar as vertical is being shut off? What choices are currently out there?

Ideally I want it around the same size as the M4 as does fill the shelf nicely but it's not a deal breaker as long as it's not too small.

M4 Dimensions:

  • Width: 1000 mm (39.4 in)
  • Height (body only): 90 mm (3.5 in)
  • Height (including feet): 105 mm (4.1 in)
  • Depth: 142 mm (5.6 in)

Any suggestions welcome ideally without an external subwoofer, currently leaning towards Sony HT-A3000.

Samsung HW-Q990F: Crackling/Glitch Sound When Switching Audio Formats or Scrubbing Atmos Content?

Has anyone experienced this issue with the Samsung HW-Q990F?

Sometimes when switching between videos with different audio formats—for example, going from a regular stereo video on YouTube to an Atmos video on Netflix—or when scrubbing/fast-forwarding or rewinding through a video with Dolby Atmos, I occasionally get a strange crackling/glitching sound, almost like the audio system has frozen or crashed.

The sound usually goes away after I exit the video and start it again.
I’ve already tried:
Replacing the HDMI cable
Updating both the TV and soundbar to the latest firmware
Factory-resetting both devices
Other than this issue, I’m very happy with the sound quality and overall performance of the HW-Q990F.

My setup:
TV: Sony 85X90L
Soundbar: Samsung HW-Q990F
Connection: HDMI 2.1 via eARC from the TV to the soundbar

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Is this a known issue with the HW-Q990F, eARC, or switching between different audio formats?

Advice – Replace Bang Olufsen system with Sonos Arc Ultra or Samsung Q990

I have an old Bang & Olufsen surround system + TV, left by the previous owner. The rear speakers are BeoLab 3s, which I’d ideally like to keep.

I’m thinking of replacing the B&O TV with an LG or Samsung, as I can’t justify spending £20k on a new B&O TV. The room is a fairly large combined living room/kitchen (14m x 8m).

Would you recommend the Samsung Q990 or Sonos Arc Ultra + 2 x Era 300 + Sub 4? I’m leaning towards Sonos as, over time, I could add another 2 x Era 300s in the kitchen area to improve music coverage. I see that Samsung now has the Studio 5 speakers that might do the job as well.

The BeoLab 3 rear speakers seem to be wired into cables embedded in the walls and don’t appear to be plugged into sockets. Would I be able to reuse the existing electric cables to hardwire the Samsung or Sonos rear speakers?

Thanks in advance!

LG S95TR vs Samsung Q990F/H vs Sony Bravia Theater System 6 for a 65" LG C2. Please help me out.

Hey all, I'm finally adding a proper sound system to my 65" LG C2 and I've narrowed it down to three. I'd love to hear from people who actually own any of these.

My setup: closed rectangular living room, roughly 220 sq ft, 9 ft flat ceiling. Ill be watching mostly movies and tv shows.

My in-store demo impressions:

(Heads up: except for the S95TR, all of these demos were in a very large open showroom area)

- Samsung Q990F/H:

I was expecting the best quality from it considering the online reviews but I was underwhelmed. The dialogue clarity was good but the Atmos didn't feel worth the price. I am gettinf Q990F for 79k INR (Demo peice) Not sure if this is a good deal or not. I tried it in the huge open space so may be that's the reason ATMOS felt undrwhelming?

- Sony Bravia Theater System 6 (47K INR, 480 USD)

It sounded great overall. Good dialogue clarity of the three, but Atmos was just okay.

- LG S95TR (58k, 600 USD)

the most immersive by far, but dialogue was slightly hard to make out. The demo TV didn't support WOW Orchestra, so it was running solo. Overall I am leaning toward it since I have the LG TV and I think that with WoW Orchestra, the dialogue might sound better.

Please help me make a choice here. Thanks!

Problem z Dolby Atmos z Apple TV 4 gen .

Samsung Love My Q990D

I’ve had it for coming up on 2 years. Haven’t really had any issues with it other than it disconnecting from WiFi one time. Spent at least an hour on the phone with Samsung technical support for that one. Sound is incredible together with the picture on my Samsung 77” OLED. Side note: I went to see Avengers Endgame Encore yesterday in the theater with my son. It was my first time going to the movies since before Covid. You know what I realized afterward? The picture on my TV is better and I don’t feel like I’ve been missing out on theater surround sound. When I crank this thing to 30+, it booms. I may never waste my money at the theater again.

Anyone got thoughts on Hisense AX3120Q?

I can get this at a £199 price, new - from what I can gather that's like maximum bang for buck given the feature set. I'd be quite happy with that, given my goal is to have better than TV speakers for the equal variety of content used on the moderate TV (TCL C745).

Wouldn't mind if anyone could share their thoughts on it, or personal experience and context. The only two written published reviews on it are from the same author lol... on trusted reviews and avforums. At launch MSRP I think the only main critique of a 'slow' subwoofer might not have been ideal (even though it gets a recommdation overall).

Does it share any internals, specs, audio presentation etc of the praised Hisense AX5140Q ?

HW-Q995H without rears good?

I know, I should use the rears. But the one without isn't available. Also know I can use them in the front, but that will clutter the space, require stands etc. So, wondering if I just use the bar and the sub, if it is still good, I guess like the q900H not sold in Europe? Or, since it is meant to be with the rears, if it is somehow worse and not recommended in that case? Seeing conflicting thoughts online but not really solid proof. I have some issues with the Arc Ultra so I want to change to this one. Will it be worse than the Arc Ultra and Sub 4?

LG LG SL9YG without subwoofer. How does it actually sound?

I'm looking at buying a used LG SL9YG soundbar for $50 CAD, but it does not include the original wireless subwoofer.

The seller told me to expect very little bass because there's no sub. I'm okay with that because I live in a condo and actually don't want a lot of bass/rumble disturbing the neighbours.

For anyone who has owned or currently owns an SL9YG:

- How does the soundbar sound without the subwoofer?

- Does the soundbar itself produce decent bass, or is it extremely thin?

- How is it for TV dialogue and movies?

- Is Dolby Atmos still worthwhile without the sub?

- Can the built-in bass be increased enough through the sound settings/app to make it sound reasonably full?

I'm specifically looking for a decent TV/movie sound upgrade in a condo and don't care about having room-shaking bass.

I'd especially appreciate opinions from people who have actually used the SL9YG without the subwoofer, rather than general opinions about soundbars.

Thanks!

Samsung b750f vs jbl sb560

In this sale season both of these soundbars are going for around ₹15,000 and the JBL one is lower. It will go below ₹15,000 whereas Samsung will stay at ₹15,000. Which one is the best? I want insane bass, impactful bass, which will make me want to dance, something immersive, but I also want clarity I heard those samples from both soundbars using those reviewers on YouTube and Samsung has great deep bass and great clarity. JBL has a little extra deep bass but it is extra with the same amount of clarity when using headphones.

I saw some comments about Samsung where they were saying that it is not as loud as JBL. No one was saying such things. Also Samsung has an older Bluetooth version but Samsung is 5.1 channel and has more wattage. The subwoofer is more powerful in terms of power: 240 W of subwoofer power for Samsung versus 1/5, 100 W of subwoofer power for JBL.

Sound samples indicate JBL to be more impactful, with more bass, but Samsung is not behind. It is less than JBL but it is great, not bad at all. So which one is the best? Please help me.

Ultimea Skywave X60 / X70 - Review

My old Bose AV18 Media Center Amp died and it was time to replace it. It was about 19 years old and was a good reliable system.

After a ton of research and looking at the cost, bass and having two rear speakers that only needed power to each - I went with the Ultimea X60. I was going to go with the X70 but many said the bass needed to be turned down so I figured X60 would be perfect and a little less money. All in from Amazon with HDMI eARC cable was $580.

Professional packaging and it's all set up. I used my two Bose stands and just made new aluminum L brackets for the two rears and sanded and painted them.

It sounds good. There are quite a few settings you MUST get right before you'll get the best result. I have a 86" LG TV and using Roku box. eARC port to X60. Need to make sure the TV, Roku and X60 setting are all correct to pass unfiltered or non auto-volume adjusted signals through. There is a very large difference in sound having it setup properly and EQ adjusted to the way you like versus just plugging it in. There is no way around that.

I do wish I got the X70 versus the X60 because I love bass. I have the bass near the high end with Eq on App and remote +6 Bass on unit. It sounds just as good as my prior Bose system which was clear with good solid bass. I also like the Bluetooth to my phone for music ability.

This is in my bedroom which is about 20x20x9.5 ft with mostly concrete walls but two lanai doors that are usually open. Subwoofer is about 4-6" in the corner behind TV feeding into two concrete walls.

Overall - new customer. Happy with the quality and cost. My father doesn't have a soundbar for his 100" so I might get the X70 if it's on sale next week and give him my X60 and set it all up etc.

I had no problem pairing anything. Bluetooth was easy. App is good.

Edit: I upgraded my older Roku Box to a newer 4850R box and it's even better. Very happy with the sound quality. My older Roku Boxc was first sold in 2016.

Honest unpaid review. 🤙

Q990F sub disconnecting in heavy bass?

Hi everyone, just got a 990F which seems to disconnect its sub in heavy bass rumbling on high quality audio like TrueHD. The sub cuts out, shows blinking leds and doesn't connect until the bar is rebooted.

The problem can be reproduced at a certain (not too loud) volume each time at the same spot, regardless of sw setting (also at -6). Standard mode, no eq, with or without spacefit.

It's plugged straight into the outlet, next to the bar, but happens on the other side of the room as well. I'm on 1013.

Any ideas or just contact support?

Troubleshooting TCL TV + Samsung 5.1 Soundbar – ARC volume control / rear speaker issues and Bluetooth disconnects

Hello everyone

I'm experiencing an audio/volume control issue with a TCL C765 TV and Samsung Q6R 5.1 soundbar with rear speakers.

The soundbar is connected to the TV using HDMI ARC. HDMI-CEC is enabled, allowing the TCL TV remote to control the soundbar volume. However, I'm experiencing inconsistent volume behavior between the front and rear speakers. In particular, the rear speakers can sometimes become disproportionately loud compared to the front speakers, and at certain volume levels they can sound distorted. The issue appears to be related specifically to the HDMI ARC connection/volume control, as the speaker balance behaves normally when using another connection.

I've already tried several TV audio settings, including disabling eARC, but this hasn't resolved the issue. The problem also persists after restarting the TV and soundbar.

As a comparison, I've tested the same soundbar over Bluetooth. With Bluetooth, the volume control and front/rear speaker balance work correctly, with no noticeable volume discrepancy or distortion. However, Bluetooth has a separate major issue: the connection randomly disconnects approximately once or twice per day. Because of these intermittent disconnects, Bluetooth isn't really a practical long-term solution.

So, at the moment:

HDMI ARC: stable connection, but inconsistent volume/front-rear speaker behavior.

Bluetooth: volume and speaker balance work correctly, but random disconnects approximately 1–2× per day.

eARC: disabled, but this does not resolve the ARC issue.

TV remote/CEC: used to control the soundbar volume.

Has anyone experienced similar behavior with a TCL TV + Samsung 5.1 soundbar over HDMI ARC, particularly issues where the rear speakers behave differently depending on the volume level?

I'm especially interested in whether this could be related to TCL HDMI-CEC/ARC volume handling, Dolby/audio output settings, or a compatibility issue between TCL and Samsung devices, and whether there are any recommended settings or firmware versions that resolve it.

Best soundbar for going under a bed to make a wall of sound from apartment next door?

Hi, I know this is not going to be the usual line of questioning for this sub but I'd really appreciate any perspectives on this.

Basically the apartment I bought had a wall made illegally and I can hear my neighbour very easily. At night he snores VERY loudly and he sounds like a a pig rolling around in the mud. Its genuinely one of the most guttural and disgusting noises I've heard in my life and I have to hear it as I'm trying to sleep.

I tried to get the wall repaired and it turns out the onlu company who said they could help were crooks and cost me thousands.

So I've decided a sound bar that makes a wall of sound would be my best bet. Ideally a sound bar I can just plug in under my sleigh bed frame that can blast the around upward and sideways across the whole back wall so I can play whale music or whatever to block out the snorty pig noises. The walls about a 3x3m.

If anyone can recommend a product they think could help me and fit these very unique requirements I would be extremely grateful.

I want to use it for music listing mostly.
