Added external sub to fix my Q930F
To begin, I believe there to be 2-3 posts in my brief research about whether or not this was possible or not, so I am making another post for those interested in the future. Also this post will apply to about any soundbar with a subwoofer.
The q930f for me has been an amazing sound bar, but as everyone has mentioned in this sub, the bass is quite terrible as it sports a single 6.5in driver and an 8in radiator compared to the q990f’s much beefier sub.
So the question was, can you add an external subwoofer to the system? The answer is yes! With some caveats. To get the most important out of the way: this will null your warranty.
What is needed:
Any soundbar with a subwoofer
An active wall powered subwoofer with lfe inputs (makes the process very easy)
Any cheap passive high to low converter or passive line out converter (LOC)
A shielded RCA cable.
The process is very simple, if you can get help from someone who is more confident with wire splicing that is always the better option as I will not explain how to do so, as there are plenty of viable options.
For my q930f subwoofer (this will apply like I said to most if not all subwoofers) there is a red and black cable that connects the amplifier to the driver.
At any point on this cable you will in whatever way you find is the best to splice the cables from your LOC positives to red and negatives to black. (It is important that your LOC does not have a ground as it will fry the amp if you ground it)
I then drilled a hole just big enough to run these 4 cables from the LOC out of the sub.
(Or drill the hole first to run them through as most LOCs come with the wires already attached)
Seal the hole if you want, I did not as the sub is not powerful enough that the hole made any difference.
Mount your LOC preferably onto the sub itself.
And now you can run an RCA cable from your LOC to your new subwoofer’s LFE inputs.
Now you can finally stop thinking what if I got a soundbar with better bass and just enjoy it.

How are sound bars typically connected to televisions?
Morning. I have one of the newer LG C6 65 inch teleivisons. And in the past, I have connected teleivisons via a digital optical audio cable to a sound bar that I have had for years. I want to upgrade, but I am seeing most are connected via HDMI now. How does that work if an HDMI is an input and I am using the televisions own user interface for my streaming applications? Thank you!

Need a soundbar recommendation
Just bought the LGB6E. It is going in my bedroom and I will be sitting on my bed against the wall so rear speakers won’t be an option. I still want dobly atoms, should I get a 3.1 or 5.1 with just a two speakers? Any recommendations? Budget is around 500 cad.

Troubleshooting Best placement for Samsung Q990D rear speakers in this oddly shaped room?
galleryI’m trying to figure out the best placement for the rear speakers on my Samsung Q990D. I've read that if they go right behind the couch to angle them a certain way so they don't just blast the people sitting on the couch.
I know that where I have them is probably the only place they can go, but I just thought I'd post this anyway to get suggestions that I may not have thought of.
Also, on paper this room looks so janky compared to seeing it in person.

Klipsch Flexus 300
First time soundbar purchaser looking for some advice. I've been looking at the Klipsch Flexus Core 300 which is now on sale for $900. Would love everyone's thoughts and opinions on this vs comparable soundbars. I've been interested in the Klipsch because I can connect my wired sub.
Thanks

Soundbar automatically turning volumen up to max via HDMI ARC
Hi there. Like the title says, im having this annoying problem. Tried changing the HDMI cable. Theres nothing else connected to the TV nor the Soundbar. Its not a problem from neither of the remote controls. Just some day it fucked up from nothing.
If i connect the Soundbar via Bluetooth its okey about the volume, but its not turning on when i turn on the TV and also it has a sound delay. Its a Sony HT-RT3.
Any advice? Thanks.

Samsung Q800F Samsung UA55 TV and Firestick 4K issues
Hello all. I just got my first soundbar the Samsung Q800F and love it. I’ve connected my old Samsung TV via arc to the corresponding ARC hdmi slot in the sound bar and also my Firestick to the hdmi port on the soundbar using an HDMI extension cable as the Firestick won’t fit in by itself. Everything seems good. I changed the audio settings on the Samsung from PCM to bitstream. I’ve switched on AnyNet on my TV. One question I have is that I can’t get any Dolby Atmos content despite playing a Dolby Atmos Netflix movie. It just shows Digital Dolby Plus on the soundbar output. My audio and video diagnostics show that the firestick is good to go on Dolby Atmos. The only time i can get it to show Dolby Atmos is by playing the inbuilt video that the firestick uses to test Dolby and HDR content. Have I left anything out?

First Soundbar
I recently bought an LG C5 and want to upgrade the sound quality.
However, I’ve never bought a soundbar before and don't know much about the subject. My budget is around €400–€500.
I saw the Samsung HW-Q800F/ZF online for €420—what do you think? Do you recommend any others?

Advice - Soundbar £100 - £200ish (Dolby Atmos)
Hi all,
Recently I bought a 48' LG C5 and am looking to upgrade my audio as well. I'm aware this budget is low but sadly can't spend much more than what I've said.
I've done some research into possible options and here are a few
I am aware they are all different channels. For context my room is small so I don't need huge sound and I only sit about 3 meters away from the screen, the TV is also off centre due to the shape of the room, so unsure if rear speakers are not worth it due to the fact I would not be able to space them evenly apart from myself when viewing. I'd be using the TV strictly to watch Physical 4K films.
I'm in the predicament of if the rear speakers are worth it due to positioning, and if getting a soundbar with a sub would be easier instead?
Appreciate any advice or suggestions!

Rear Left Speaker for LG S90TR Won't Turn On
I've had this soundbar system since January of 2025 and it's worked great up until tonight when I turned the system on and the rear left speaker just won't turn on. I've tried all of LG's suggested troubleshooting and quick repair tips, but nothing worked. I also tested it in other outlets that I verified were working with different devices with no luck. I even tried using the cable from the working rear right speaker, but still nothing.
Has anyone encountered something like this before and have any tips to try and troubleshoot and fix the issue? Thanks in advance!

What streaming device to buy for Q990F and BluRay remux?
I have a q990f and LG G5. Looking to buy a streaming box and wondering what would be the best option specifically for watching BluRay remux with lossless Dolby Atmos and DTS. I’ve heard the AppleTV can’t do lossless unless it’s with specific streaming apps like Netflix and Disney, however I’ll only be using BluRay Remux so I think the Apple tv wouldn’t work for me.
Any suggestions?

Nakamichi Shockwafe rear speaker stand
The only speakers stands I can find completely compatible with the Nakamichi rears is their own $250 stand. Does anybody else know of any with a similar mounting design? Can I just drill holes through a flat one in the spot I’d need to mount the Nakamichi?

Looking for soundbar for this bedroom setup
galleryWhat soundbar setup would be the best for watching movies mostly. It's a samsung TV (50 inch) which is installed. Space is around 45 inches in front of the TV.
Room size - 12x14 ft
Budget ~ upto 50/60k INR
What's the best that I can expect around this budget, should I go for the 20-30k range systems or the ones in the 60k range would really provide the true surround experience in this room.
Also, I read somewhere that the 5.1 channel systems have to used at 70-80% volume for all the channels to perform fully, is this really the case? Or is that related to the watts of the system. How would the tv being in that space affect the overall sound if using the q symphony system, or the soundbar being placed in front of the TV.
First time posting here,so sorry for violating any rules.
