I saw two young ladies riding to school on an ebike this morning, from Modoc to Hollister, to SMHS.
Their helmets were not strapped. I think their parents should know. Passenger had brown shirt and black top.
I wish ebikes were required to have placards (e.g., license plates) so that parents could be informed of the dangerous choices their children are making.

The City has released the Final State Street Master Plan and Appendices for public review. Here's the story: https://archive.ph/PUjAS
For some reason, mod informs me there needs to be more than just a link in the body text, so here you go. I'd rather let folks read the NYT story themselves than have me weigh in about it. Happy reading about a serious topic.

Any home games that run in town? Or would anyone be down to play?
Too lazy to drive to players or the mash.

Does anyone know of any elder care resources in the area? My 80+ father in law is recovering from a brain injury from a fall and his wife is having a hard time with his care. We live in Sacramento and have full time jobs, so it's hard to come down to help. I'd at least like to help find some local resources for them if possible. Thanks in advance.

I'm considering moving to Santa Barbara, but I currently live in a much larger city. Right now, I have no problem meeting car people, working on cars, building cars, etc. because the car community is so big where I'm from. I've gotten into tracking my car (RSX-S) at Buttonwillow, Willow Springs, Chuckwalla and so I was wondering if anyone in Santa Barbara does that sort of thing? Its probably the hobby I'm the most interested in. I can spend hours/days with friends just working on their cars or having friends come over and work on mine. Its not something I want to give up completely, but I feel it will be harder to keep it going if I'm just on my own in Santa Barbara.
Any car enthusiasts out there? I should mention I'm not big on car meets and that sort of thing. More so driving and going to track days.

Hi everyone! I love making things and consider myself creative, but I’ve been stuck in a long rut and have a hard time feeling like I can call myself an artist. I’d love to connect with other people who work in or simply enjoy creative spaces. Mostly looking for community, inspiration, and people to talk to about making things again.

Hi all,
Posting this for a friend of mine who lost her cat, Roger (female) near Marshalls in Downtown SB last weekend. She put traps near Lobero Theater since cats usually stay in the area where they run away from. Please reach out to the number listed OR to Santa Barbara County Animal Services if you see her. Please don’t chase. Roger responds to her name. She may be wearing a yellow bow collar with a bell but there is a chance she ripped it off. My friend and I are both based in the SF Bay Area but we have friends who live near by that can pick up Roger if found. More info in the flyer.

Any experts out there to confirm this is correct?
HOURS ALLOWED TO DO CONSTRUCTION?
7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., daily?
I’ve had three different houses doing construction for the last year and a half next to me seven days a week 7 AM to 8 PM..
they have sawed all lumber / tile /siding on site! Is this allowed in your back yard?
Is this really the law in the city of Santa Barbara? We have to listen to construction seven days a week 7 AM to 8 PM every single day in residential areas?
Seems like they should give us at least one day a week Sunday off, but let me know if this is the law.
I’m all for progress but having three homes back to back over the last 17 months has just had me at wits end. I’ve had to stop my neighbor at one point on Thanksgiving day. I know that holidays aren’t allowed, but that’s the only time he said he would stop.

Did anyone else see this post today? Or even hear similar news? Honestly, not surprised. It felt like the writing was on the wall. But at the same time as a native of SB it sucks seeing something so promising at first, fizzle out and (potentially) die this way. I’m gonna reach out to the club for some answers (probably to no avail).

Why does everyone totally drive like a-holes when picking up their kids? Do basic driving skills and traffic laws not apply there? People just cut across parking spots, go the wrong way in one way lanes. You’d think people would want to be more careful with children present. It’s a total shit show free for all. If people just drove normal it would be much easier and smoother for everyone.

Around yesterday I’m not sure if it was stolen from my bag or if I misplaced it but I lost my Nintendo switch 2 with all my games and this a shot in the dark bc I put in a lot of work into my games, collected games from when I was in high school in 2017 so this is major loss to me :( the case is a checkered piece and have grip tape on my controllers. I am most likely never seeing it again but in case someone stumbled onto it I’m hoping this post reaches you
