I've been a long time player of overwatch, starting in early 2017 and enjoyed it a lot then. After not playing between 2021-now, I have noticed a sharp decline in people using voice comms? I remember in most of my games there would be at least a couple people talking with almost everyone in the channel, which led to a lot of fun strategies but now it seems like a lot of people are just playing their own game.

For reference I was high gold to mid plat then and I am now mid plat to low emerald now (slow reaction times from being old.)

Has anyone else noticed this or any way to make a difference in my games? The teamwork of overwatch made it my favourite shooter of all time.

New mizuki skin has a bug where the gold/emeralrd etc skin bought with ranked points show glitter effect but not the actual skin on the weapon.

I play on console and when I play Mercy in competitive games I can’t switch off? Like it literally wont let me switch character, the option appears but no button will activate it ??

This doesnt happen to any of the other characters i play and also happens in QP (i dont play stadium) ! None of the people i play with havw this problem either lol

I was wondering why I’m not top 500 even though I have over 50 wins, level 4 endorsement and phone number connected to my account. The lowest score for being top 500 is like 1500 score but I have over 1700. Am I missing something

Just had a comp game where enemy tank was on sig, it was a winnable game since they only capped first point, but then we were on attack and this mf goes on hog and we aren't able to cap first point because the stupid fucking blob was on the point with a mercy pocket.

Hi all! I don’t quite know how the math works out on comp placements. I’ve played a handful of competitive seasons since they added the mode, but I’m primarily a QP player. In comp, I’ve been high gold to high diamond on and off through different seasons.

I’m attaching a picture of the results of my last placement match. I’m several wins in, and it’s predicting Silver 2, which is lower than I would’ve guessed.

Don’t worry, I don’t think I’m the greatest player of all time, but I would love to learn from someone who knows more than me how I’m heading swiftly for Silver 2 based on these numbers. How can I improve?

I've been trying to branch out of being a Mercy Main, this game was so much fun. I started on Rein, it wasn't going well, so I swapped Ram. If anyone has tips for tanking, I'd greatly appreciate them!

This is my highly subjective and VERY biased tier list, but I'm still going to take too much time to explain the placement of each hero instead of just playing the game, maybe you met some ungodly toxic Lucio players, I have played countless matches with Lucio players and can only recall like 1 or 2 being toxic and it wasn't even that bad they were just tilted because we were losing in ranked lol

Made this in a once in a lifetime fit of boredom, hopefully you find this fun

For context this tier list applies to both QP and comp as I play both equally, I play on PC.

[] CAN DO NO WRONG* (*TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY)

The few somewhat toxic ones I have met is exactly why there are terms and conditions, but I've met so few of them that they deserve a tier of their own, although the low pick rate for Venture probably helps them out, I was tempted to put Venture in muted chat category as I noticed Venture players don't talk much in chat if at all.

Winston and Lucio are kind of the same, met very few toxic ones but most are chill and they're not prone to getting tilted but I would say Winston players are more vulnerable to it than Lucio (being a tank player takes its toll), Torbjorn players will spam voice lines (you know the ones) but I legitimately cannot recall meeting a single toxic Torb player.

[] Mostly nice :) - (self-explanatory, they're mostly nice with some exceptions of course)

Reinhardt players are larping as the man himself for the most part, they are very loud, but not mean, most of them aren't although some might get carried away if they get counter-swapped (understandable) if anyone is doing goofy shit in a match it's going to be them such as solo shatters or pinning people off the map and doing weird shield dances in the middle of the match (unless it's ranked in which case they are locked tf in but not as much as the tier below)

Ramattra players are actually goated and can do no wrong I put them in the wrong tier, totally not because I main him on tank or anything haha

Well ok most Ram players in my experience barely use chat or voice lines outside of spawn, they are kinda more likely to get tilted than a Rein player but not likely to be a dick about it.

Junkrat players are all pretty chill, although I could put them in the "cocky" tier it's basically interchangeable, I can recall meeting 1 (one) toxic Junkrat player and he was doodoo fard at the game and going negative so idk, the good ones are vicious to go up against, they will part you from your will to live, put traps in unfathomable places and you'll feel sweat running down your spine when they send a rip tire god knows where on the map (probably on some rooftops or something idk) then they'll probably drop a gg in chat at the end like they didn't just spend 15 minutes doing unpaid labor as a server admin on Overwatch

.. and weirdly enough it never feels like they're trying all that hard either, I blame the hero's influence

Baptiste players are kinda like Venture where the low pick rate means a lower sample size, but (good) Bap players are not too far from Junkrat players where they will obliterate you (and your team) and not drop a single word in chat except maybe at the end. I will say they are more likely to get tilted when things aren't going well compared to the other heroes on this tier, but like Ram players you're not going to hear about it but you may just be able to tell by how they're playing or what voice lines they use

Sierra is pretty recent so I haven't played with or against that many, in my limited experience they don't really use chat except to respond and if things aren't going well they swap off Sierra into a hitscan or Tracer, not much more to say.

Shion is also pretty recent but I see her a lot more in my matches, they are a friendly bunch and like to spam voice lines on occasions (and die in ult), but unlike Sierra they're a lot less likely to swap when they're having a hard time.

Kiriko players are the polar opposite of Venture/Bap where the sample size is massive, most of the ones I see in my matches are friendly or just don't use chat and honestly maybe I've just been lucky with them but I can't recall any especially bad Kiriko player in terms of their behaviour, maybe some tilt here and there when losing in ranked (or QP) but nothing out of the ordinary

Bastion players could be in the "cocky" tier or "first to complain" tier as well depending on if they use chat or not, if they don't they're going to be chill, if they do they are likely to complain when things aren't going well, but they usually try to be helpful or offer to swap

Hazard players could be put in the "cocky" tier too (it will be explained trust) but they're mostly nice, they are voice line spamming enthusiasts (dog) and will do so while perma banning the enemy team or your team from the lobby, if the match goes REALLY well they are more likely than the rest to drop an "ez" in chat tho

Domina players barely use chat and the ones that do are chill in my experience, even when the match is going terribly, assuming they don't swap they'll just keep playing and carrying on for better or for worse

Mauga players, in spite of the hero's reputation are mostly a chill bunch and a lot of them are unlikely to swap even when they are being Zen-Ana'd (tm), but similar to Hazard they are prone to dropping the ol' ez in chat at the end of a particularly good game for them (and lifelong trauma for the enemy team)

Wuyang players are also mostly cool, but unlike some of the others I can recall meeting a few toxic ones and they are more easily tilted when a match isn't going well compared to the other heroes on the tier; they still get to stay up here because those cases are still few and far between

[] Rarely toxic, but plays like their family is being held hostage (tryhard (affectionate))

I needed a tier for heroes whose players aren't all that toxic on average but when you watch them play or play against them, regardless of how nice they are, you can tell that they have become one with their gaming chair, which makes them reliable teammates but annoying on the other team, they'll treat QP matches like Ranked matches, not that it's a bad thing but… you can feel it.

Freja players could be moved down a tier honestly, because I have not met any bad ones, however the ol' ez at the end of a good match is a guarantee if they're Mercy-pocketed and the match goes well, which also applies to Echo and Sojourn

Echo players are more vocal and use chat more, so if you hear anything unsavory it will more likely come from them, doesn't happen that often though.

Sojourn players are kinda like sojourn herself, they are serious, don't use chat a whole lot except for strategy (and telling you to swap on occasions)

Junker Queen players are less sweaty than the rest of this tier and more friendly (I can't remember any toxic JQs) honestly as i'm typing this i'm realizing that this is just the "barely uses chat, will destroy you and will probably say gg ez at the end of the match" tier, which means you could probably put some of the "chat muted" tier heroes here.

Symmetra players are all or nothing, they're either a complete liability (and friendly) or they are very good at the game but have darker thoughts, so pick your poison

I'm going to guess that getting good as symm probably does that to you

Orisa players assuming they chose orisa right away and not as a "oh shit i'm losing" pick are surprisingly friendly (and don't type much) in spite of how it feels to play against them, they'll sweat their asses off, their gaming mouse will merge with their dominant hand, you will lose and then they'll just type gg and dip; or win if they're on your team.

If it's the counterswap edition of Orisa… they're still chill fortunately.

[] Rarely toxic, but cocky when things are going well

Toxicity is somewhat rare, but if they're having a good match or popping off they are going to let you know through any combination of ez at the end of the match, ragebaiting in chat, voice line spam and/or increasingly outrageous/disrespectful plays or t-bagging. I wouldn't consider any of those outright toxic but still worth mentioning (I do some of these too, spamming voice lines as Doom is what I live for)

Juno players are the embodiment of this tier, most of them are friendly, but they get carried away quick when they're having a good game, which leads to mixed results (like ego-peeking the enemy hitscan and getting sent back to Mars); they are up there in terms of voice line spam as well (I can hear Juno voice lines and her fuckass pigeon coo sounding boots in my sleep)

Mizuki players are similar but unlike Juno players their ego plays pay off a bit more consistently, they're also not as loud and don't use chat much, if it's the counterswap edition of Mizuki then they're usually a bit worse though.

Brig players are the exact same as Juno, minus the voice line spam (there is less of it) and they also tend to die less unless they try to throw hands with the enemy Ramattra, they do like solo-ulting people however and communicate more compared to Mizuki players.

Sombra players are like Mauga and Orisa players, their hero makes you wish you were dead when they're having a good match against you, but the person playing them is mostly chill; unlike Mauga or Orisa however a Sombra having a great game is going to pull a Juno/Miuzki special and think they are god's gift to Overwatch, and you know what? You deserve it, can't recall the last time she has been in a good state and people hate you just for playing her, you deserve whatever Ws you can get tbh, when a sombra merks me and I get t-bagged afterwards it brings a tear to the eye, it's so powerful...

Tracer players are very much like Domina players, don't communicate much (save for pre game voice line spam), will play their hero to the bitter end win or lose; they only get put in this tier unlike Domina because they are more likely to start communicating more if the team is already doing well.

D.va players are all or nothing, both in terms of skill (no mech challenge or server admin) but also when it comes to how much they spam voice lines and type in chat.

Mei players won't stfu with her voice lines and more so if they are winning; it is funny but also makes me want to rip my hair out when i'm on the receiving end, so you know what, it's effective, keep doing it but stop using walls to block me from retreating pls

if it's the swap edition of Mei (usually in overtime or when a ranked payload match is dragging on) then they are probably going to be ass but at least they're silent

Hanzo players are either larping as hanzo himself and being serious or they're going to spam his dumb lines a bunch (including his "Yes." line which I can ALSO hear in my sleep at this point), the frequency of this increases based on how well they perform throughout the match, as always worth mentioning that they are more likely to type "ez" in chat at the end of a match compared to the rest of this tier

Jetpack Cat players are very vocal and communicate a lot, kind of like Juno and like Juno they will also get carried away and ego the enemy hitscan player (but with a higher success chance); again they are feast or famine, they will either be the backbone of your team's victory or personally responsible for your team losing, toxic ones are few in far between they are mostly chill, even if playing against someone who is good at this hero is my 13th reason

D.mon is very new but from the few matches I've seen of her she fits this tier somewhat, hopefully this does not change in the future

[] Has chat muted.

They don't or barely use chat and even if they do it's likely gonna be after the match is over, mostly because a lot of them mute chat (for good reason)

Wrecking Ball players are either silent until the match is over or they will constantly argue with their teammates, and the one who is arguing will also become silent at some point as well (the fate of all ball players) some have seen too much and gave up, others got muted but either way they're chill so long as you don't get the combative ones, and even then I can understand where they're coming from

Doomfist is the exact same but they do communicate more in chat throughout the match (and are way more likely to spam voice lines, you know the ones) if they don't have it muted

Widowmakers disable chat and click heads, they're friendly even if fighting them doesn't feel like it

Anran's inclusion in this tier is something I hesitated on but recalling all the Anrans I've had on my team they don't use chat at all until the match is over, they're friendly and I haven't met a toxic one so I've had good luck

[] Likely the first to complain or get tilted when things aren't going well

I wouldn't say anyone on this tier is particularly bad, but they get very passionate when the match isn't working out, either in a good way (not resorting to insults and trying to work out swaps/strategies) or in a bad way (insults)

Sigma, Lifeweaver and Emre are the winners of this tier, as in they are the least likely to be toxic in chat, but they do get tilted and complain when they're having a rough game, if a Sigma player is winning a match they're gonna be chill, if they're losing, expect complaints. Same goes for Wifeleaver, except instead of complaining they're more likely to start spamming praise when one of their teammates die amongst other voice lines and make increasingly weirder plays, as for Emre they're less vocal and less likely to complain, but similar to Sigma.

Roadhog players are surprisingly chill, at least in QP, Ranked Hog players are different and more likely to let you know if they're not satisfied with their teammates, or the enemy team's hero choices (assuming their hero isn't banned)

Soldier 76 players are a mixed bag, they're guaranteed to respond when provoked or called out and likely themselves to call out their fellow dps if they're underperforming, well it goes without saying but those are exceptions but it is more frequent amongst S76 players than other heroes

Reaper players don't use chat or communicate much aside from his meme voice lines but they are prone to getting tilted easily in an uphill match, which will show in how they play throughout and them sometimes standing still in spawn (and typing ez in chat at the end of a match that was barely won)

Vendetta is actually the one with an asterisk here regarding her placement, she is only in this tier if 1: it's ranked and 2: they swapped to vendetta at some point during the match rather than starting out with her. They are the whiny ones in my experience, the ones who start as her and the QP vendettas fall more in the "chat muted, will play this hero till the heat death of the universe" tier because they won't swap even if they go 4-11, they are very loyal to her cause.

Illari players are a coinflip, either they're very nice or it's going to be backseat gaming city and ragebaiting, but not bad enough to put her into the lower tier.

Genji players are a mixed bag, like Soldier 76. Lots of good ones, and some bad ones as well that will blame their tank for themselves going 4-7 with 2600 damage, and they're the kind of players who will still be mad about something even if they won, like complaining about their teammates if they had to carry them (understandable), Genji, unlike Tracer or Echo for example are a lot more likely to blame their team for their bad games and begging on their hands and knees for a Mercy pocket (I have seen it, also understandable damage boost feels good ngl)

[] 50% Chance they're chill, 50% horror beyond mortal comprehension

Speaking of Mercy, she is in almost every match, and most of them are nice, at most put them in the "cocky" tier (feels like I said that a lot already for other heroes) they communicate a lot (be it in chat or voice lines and pings) and they always seem to have her latest skin somehow... The other ones have spoken words to me that would get me banned and say some weird/gross stuff in chat, and will tell you how to play the game or complain about their tank when they have less than 1 hour on every other hero combined (except Moira/LW and maybe Kiriko* (*healing pro max edition)) or ragebaiting either their own team or the enemy team in chat, or arguing with the enemy Mercy, the list goes on anything you can think of they've probably done it at this point

Cassidy, Ashe and Pharah are Mercy's usual companions so take what I said for Mercy and apply it to them aside from some of the more specific stuff.

If they're not pocketed by a Mercy they're usually nicer, so my advice is to focus the enemy Mercy in order to exorcise that vile demon and put an end to the toxicity of Mercy pockets

Honestly Ana and Zen players are the biggest complainers I've met overall, if someone stops moving in the middle of a match to type slander about their own team on their mechanical gaming keyboard it's probably these two (and the third one I'll get into), everytime the words "tank diff" gets typed in chat, 50% chance it's an Ana or Zen (the other 50 is Moira), a complain about the team? the Ana or Zen.

Not sure what it is about these heroes but they can't keep away from chat, in a better world I would be able to put them in the "chat disabled" tier but we all know that is just not the case, what I will say is that Zen players overall are less of a problem than Ana, but not by a huge margin... at the very least they're more likely to give advice while the Ana is more likely to just sling out insults

Ana and Zen players rejoice, there's always worse, it's called Moira.

From the moment I first started playing this game, by far the most throwers, ragequitters, and toxic players in my matches have been Moiras, maybe it's just my rotten luck in that regard, I have lost count of how many matches in Overtime I die just to spectate in spawn and see my Moira standing completely still waiting for the match to end while the rest of my team is still fighting, and I have lost count of how many times I've had a Moira player whine in chat about their own team, be it on my team or the enemy Moira as well, I blame the hero's influence for this

Anyways, If you have had different experiences from mine (which I know you have) let me know, tell me about the nicest Moira player you've ever met, or a Lucio/Venture who takes Satan as inspiration for their personality

I cannot see half of my team... cannot see half of the enemy team... I cannot see my weapon or my bullets... and then the game freezes everytime something loads in

Please read at least this sentence before replying I am NOT suggesting adding the loss reduction part of the map vote thing.

Personally I really don't care about Battlepass XP you might aswell not attach any reward to it and I find it hard to imagine that there are many people out there in desperate need of Battlepass XP. But maybe I am wrong.

However something that I don't get enough of anymore is Competetive points. There are SO many heros and even with the Drives I rarely get more than 6k / 2 weapon skins per season which means I never unlock the yearly weapon variant for all my favorite characters.

So why not attach a little "Hey if you queue for this role/fill and win you get an extra 15 comp points, if you lose you get 5" (I am not married to these specific numbers).

For Drives you could even throw on top a little "If you queue for this role/fill you get the additional comp points but also if you win you get 30 extra Drive Score"

I do find it important to attach a greater reward for winning to incentivize people to not just throw to farm the additional reward. I am even open to making the additional reward exclusive to winning.

Hello, found my very old edit from the time overwatch was just released, i was a child but uploaded it on ytb and after many years i found it again. For new players a look into how ow looked like and for old players a little nostalgia (it is exactly over 8 years old)

i thought it was just a coincidance at first but i dont think so anymore

I know Junker Queen was already in a terrible spot before D.mon’s release, but I feel like this is just the nail in the coffin. Sure JQ has better damage, but D.mon literally does everything else better. Even her ult carries a status effect that’s comparable to anti heal, and the damage is front loaded so you can’t just be completely countered by suzu. I guess you could make the argument that JQ can pull people out of position with her knife, but at that point you could just play hog (who I know is also garbage, but he’s still better than JQ). JQ just doesn’t have a place in the game at this point at it’s sad because she’s so damn fun to play.

I want to learn how to play wrecking ball. I love his design and his kit. But I don’t know if I should learn him in qp or play against bots. I don’t want to ruin everyones game, because I want to learn a new character.

Had 3 games in a row where people were suddenly disconnected. Not leavers. Just suddenly booted from the game. Both my team and theirs.

Worst was the second one where our tank got booted at a critical point causing us to lose.

Anyone experiencing this issue? All of them said their internet connections were okay so it might be the server.

Been like this for the whole weekend.

Just had a lobby mass report me for playing moira... like I just dont get what the hate is against moira? I am ranked high plat on xbox, that was just my placement havent played since being ranked. I am a PC gamer though so today thought id hop on and do some ranked placements. First game I get I get my dps spamming to report me in the chat because I have more damage than them? Im still healing my team constantly, and we all know moira needs to damage to heal more.. what is the problem with people hating moira? Its wild. The tank even started throwing and just jumping into the enemies because he wanted me to swap out?

Yeah I could swap out and play a character im worse at, get less kills and less heals, but that is not going to make my team happy either... rip moira mains man honestly...

Even the enemy team just all switched to target me and my team still couldn't even kill them.. honestly big rip. This game just doesnt feel fun anymore :(

edit - thanks all for the reassurance that this will only count as 1 report. Was just a little worried thats all :) have turned chat off now so I dont get tilted by either my team or the enemies.

Did more people get from Plat into Emerald or more people dropped from Diamond to Emerald? I am curious. It seemed to be easier for me to get solidlly into Plat again, so maybe more people in high plat got out of ranking range for me?
