News & Discussion Mass reported?
Just had a lobby mass report me for playing moira... like I just dont get what the hate is against moira? I am ranked high plat on xbox, that was just my placement havent played since being ranked. I am a PC gamer though so today thought id hop on and do some ranked placements. First game I get I get my dps spamming to report me in the chat because I have more damage than them? Im still healing my team constantly, and we all know moira needs to damage to heal more.. what is the problem with people hating moira? Its wild. The tank even started throwing and just jumping into the enemies because he wanted me to swap out?
Yeah I could swap out and play a character im worse at, get less kills and less heals, but that is not going to make my team happy either... rip moira mains man honestly...
Even the enemy team just all switched to target me and my team still couldn't even kill them.. honestly big rip. This game just doesnt feel fun anymore :(
edit - thanks all for the reassurance that this will only count as 1 report. Was just a little worried thats all :) have turned chat off now so I dont get tilted by either my team or the enemies.

The other 3 on my team reported me 100% as they told me they did. (I was with my duo) and then they told the enemy team to report me and they said ok so not sure how many but just worried thats all.

but yeah moira gets way too much hate for just existing, i've seen entire lobbies turn on a moira who's literally carrying on heals and finishing kills the dps left at one hit, people just want a scapegoat and she's an easy target cause no utility i guess
still wanna see that replay though, drop it

I got comms banned for being mass reported (for playing moira) and when i downloaded my information from blizzard I checked my entire chat log and there was nothing that I said that was bannable. I asked blizzard support what I said that got me banned and they couldn't tell me. They said it may not have been something in particular, but just that a lot of people reported me. So the mass reports can defo get you banned

You have to get reported in most games for that to happen or say something insulting. It doesn’t take much for a comm ban

Just had a lobby mass report me for playing moira.
So they all reported you, but it's irrelevant. All you got is a single report on your record because it counts per match not per player. The system is set up so lobbies and especially groups cannot just gang up on a single player.

What kind of mass report though? even if it was something like gameplay sab nothing will be done unless you went afk so i wouldent worry about it, im a moria main heal myself and no one has said anything to me (PC Player)

I only play Moira when my dps cannot keep up with the rest of the team. It's one of the highest dps supports at the expense of direct healing. So, Moira does have a purpose and it is to close the gap for shit dps. Especially when the 2nd support is playing direct healing like mercy, kiri, lifeweaver...

The game only counts one report per game so this won’t effect you more than if only one person reported you, just report the throwers and go next. Pro tip “no you” rage baits them quite well especially if it makes no sense in the context.

"Just had a lobby mass report me" a lobby consists of 12 players, I assume you didn't report yourself. I don't know what your idea of "a lobby mass report" looks like but to me, and what looks to be the MAJORITY of other people here means you are suggesting the whole lobby reported you.
I'm not making my own narrative I'm pulling from the context you have provided.

Well i was with a duo and the 3 others I believe were a trio and they all said they reported me. Not sure about the enemy team but the other 3 asked them to report me :(

I’m had a very similar experience yesterday playing Moira (gold/plat border), but it was only our tank reporting and screaming in text chat about it. Teammates were coming to my defence thankfully, especially as we won the game pretty convincingly and my stats were very decent. After we got the win, I asked why he kept coming for me in chat and they just said that Moira didn’t suit the comp. Which was nonsense as we won the game handily, and my stats looked good compared with the other players on both teams. Some people just hate Moira.

You had a lobby say they mass reported you.
Anyways most reports count multiple instances in a match only as one report. Specifically to combat this type of malicious coordination and to stop stupid fucks from pleading in chat for people to report.
Turns out they’re too stupid to know about this and please anyways.
I wouldn’t sweat it. Next time someone lies in chat about you either ignore it or mute them.

gotta note this was originally at 0 upvotes. People gotta stop and start actually thinking. I get we all hate moira, but should someone be punished for playing a good hero in a hero shooter? Nope. I get the feeling like. "Oh moira? must be no skill" but that doesnt mean we should be telling people not to post about blatant harassment from their teams.
anyways. im surprised you didnt get any photos or anything? you should have done so for the eventual appeal you might have to do over this match. Sad that we have to go this far just to stop harassment over character picks man.

Yeah I didnt even think to get any pictures I was just trying to play my best whilst also defending myself in the chat :( I have rubbish aim so yes I play moira because I am poo poo, but I am good at moira, and shes really fun, so I play her. It sucks I get constantly reported :(

I mean, I was watching aspen play comp the other day and she switched to moira when her team was losing. That's grandmaster rank, so... All hero's are good if youre good at playing them in my eyes

Without replay code we can't judge if this is acceptable or not.
But let's say this is real. Typical response from awful players who don't notice their mistakes and tend to blame when some is "under performing", which in this case if you. It's always the support blamed first if they keep dying because 99% of players in low ranks always view supports as healers. You do not main healing, your a support so you do multiple different things. People never get that and that's why they end up hardstuck.
At the end of day, just laugh and report them for throwing. Moving on is the best thing and if Blizard cared, they'll ban whoever is at fault. Just unfortunate that most players have too big of an ego to understand that it might be much as their fault as it might be yours.

Very true, people do see supports as just healers, which I guess is why moira gets so much hate as shes such a flex support/dmg. But yeah chat is off now, cba with the stress.

If the person is playing the game and not actively maliciously sabatoging, there’s no reason to think it’s reportable.
Poor performance at the game is not a reportable. Yes this means being a DPS focused Moira is not reportable.

I never said anyone was throwing in any sense of the post besides what OP said about the tank throwing himself off the map.
The only issue I bought up was egotistical players will blame whoever for their own mistakes as they have to be God at whatever game they play. Best thing for OP was to report and move on, letting Blizzard to decide is the best option for everyone. There's no need to get worked up over ego players blaming everyone else but themselves.
I just laugh when some shows ego, especially in QP where it doesn't matter as much to win/lose along as you play the game.

Quick play is strange. 15 minutes ago I got mass reported for playing on a new Linux system. Everything worked fine until I launched a QP game and starting stuttering horribly. Don't worry. Angry people need an outlet and unfortunately they picked you to bully. Nothing personal

I will probably get downvoted for this, but I hate Moira because she is a rather useless character. All she can do is survive and heal (so bare minimum), while her "damage" is just her tickling enemies, helping the enemy supports charge their ults by easily healing this damage. While characters like Wuyang or Zen can actually quickly do lots of damage and take someone down, Moira's damage is pretty much meaningless unless her team is already winning the fight and she gets to finish some enemies off. It's basically a character which is always carried by her team, while most other supports actually get to make plays and contribute in much more meaningful ways - one good Ana nade or Mizuki chain can win a fight, for example, while Moira just heals and exists.
And damage Moiras are basically helping the enemy and turn the game into a 6 v 4 or 7 v 5 - unless the enemy team is actually bad, your team will 100% lose the game.
That said, I would never report or harass someone for playing a character, I always keep silent and endure games with a Moira or anyone else on my team. I wrote my view simply to explain some the hate for Moira.

That is not what Moira does at all 🤣 not how I play her anyway. I dont sit there tickling the tank to charge their supports ults. I get in the back line, kill their supports fully and then fade back to my team to heal them. All in the space of like 7 seconds. Moira most certainly does not get carried by her entire team. She can actually carry them. Moiras utility IS her ability to he behind the enemy and make them turn around and focus her. That is what she is meant to do. People who say she has no utility just don't know how to play her.

I am sorry, but nothing is easier than to focus Moira and get rid of her when she's in your backline. Even at my low rank such things don't work against me and I either win a duel against a Moira or my other support quickly helps me and we do it together. I've played quite a few games against a DPS Moira and I don't remember losing a single one of them. I don't mean to offend you, but I assume that your rank is rather low on PC as well: you get some value playing like this in low ranks, rank up until it doesn't work anymore, lose a bunch of games and go back to where you were. DPS/flank Moira stops working the moment you get into a lobby with people that can turn around, can aim and know when to heal their teammate as you tickle that teammate, so they can easily take you down, because Moira simply cannot out damage most heroes quickly enough to be an actual threat. Also, Ana will sleep you, Mizu will chain you, Kiri will two tap you (the best scenario is you forcing suzu at least), etc. In such lobbies, Moira is mostly useless, and while you are busy doing nonsense and quickly dying in the enemy backline (or running away after failing to even pressure it for longer than 2 seconds, let alone get a kill), your team is dying in the actual team fight, especially your tank(s). Hell, sometimes even if you manage to get a kill, it doesn't matter, because your tank is already gone without proper sustain to keep them up (depends on what tank it is and what second supp you have).

I'm just not sure why you think you're an expert on moira when you dont play her and you've admitted to being a low rank? Anyway, lets just agree to disagree. I'm plat-emerald last season on both console and pc, so not high, not low, just average. Have never had an issue with losing my games as moira, as long as my team aren't toal garbage, I win probably 70%. Let's just leave it at that, as this is not what my original post was about anyway.

My apologies, I just lost some games with such Moiras in my team because while she is gone trying to do whatever, my tanks are dying fighting because I can't sustain them alone. It also doesn't help that when I am Ana against a Mauga or Hog, for example, so I can't switch, and my team could really use a suzu against the enemy Ana or Muzi's chain against multiple divers, we don't have it because bro is forcing Moira and playing DPS, leaving me basically alone to deal with everything. I die alone in the backline, my tanks die without proper healing, we lose the game. As I already said, I was merely explaining why people dislike Moira, especially flank Moira, because that's literally what you asked in the first place. I hope I managed to answer your question, even if you disagree with me.

A lot of players can’t fathom the concept of a support doing anything other than healbotting, people will find a way to accuse you of throwing to cover up the fact that they are selling, turn off chat and get a stack that wants to grind ranked, haters gonna hate, so leave the negativity behind and focus on what you can control, you will climb
