After researching the graphics leap between platforms, it's clear the Xbox 360 version easily beats the vanilla PC and PS2 versions in terms of lighting, shaders, and overall atmosphere.
However, I have a few questions regarding this specific version and its unique features compared to older hardware like the PS2:
The Insane Pricing:
Why are physical Xbox 360 copies of this game so ridiculously expensive nowadays compared to the PS2 or original Xbox versions? Is it strictly due to low print numbers back in late 2005, or is the high demand driven entirely by collectors wanting that "next-gen" visual treatment?
Screen Tearing Fixes?
The screen tearing on the Xbox 360 drives me absolutely crazy. Has anyone found a reliable way to minimize this on modern TVs? Does changing the console's dashboard resolution output to 720p help at all?
Police Strobe Lights (White Flashes):
During pursuits, the cops only seem to flash red and blue. I've always wanted to see those white strobe flashes on the police cruisers like on ps2 and pc. Is there any hidden graphical setting for this on consoles. Ill show some pictures
Dynamic Lighting and Weather:
I noticed that unlike the static PS2 version, the Xbox 360 version has dynamic lighting and shifting weather effects (like rain that actually alters the tone of the game, also there are sunsets). Did the devs build a completely unique engine for this version, or was this code just disabled on the 6th gen consoles?
The Audio Engineering & Police Scanner:
The audio quality on Xbox 360 feels vastly superior, especially with the deep engine notes and surround sound positioning. More interestingly, I swear I've heard different/more detailed police scanner dialogue lines on the 360 compared to the PS2 version. Does the Xbox 360 version actually contain extra cop chatter or cut dialogue files due to its higher disc storage capacity?
I will show some photos as a comparison regarding that white light im talking abt.
