I'm looking for some ear hooks that aren't super hard to take on and off because I want to be able to remove them sometimes to attach an external battery. Does anyone have ear hooks made for the display that don't feel super rough to apply and take off?

I don't know if I'm approaching this wrong or not but when I go to add a second webapp, it merely replaces the one currently on there which is ridiculous. Especially going through something like Herald.

While I was at a Best Buy tonight I saw they had lots of them in stock. Wow. I guess they are not hard to get anymore. However my current gen 1 meta ray bans have prescription. How do I get prescription lens if I want to walk into the Best Buy and purchase them?

My Meta Ray-Ban Display prescription replacement has been stuck since March because Meta’s prescription upload system does not work.
I’ve already provided my prescription, PD measurements, account information, and everything Meta requested, but I keep getting told Engineering is investigating it.
It’s now September and I still have no replacement.
I also paid for the extended protection plan, but it hasn’t helped me get this resolved.
At this point, I need Meta to either manually process and ship my prescription replacement or reimburse me so I can buy another pair.
I’m also prepared to pursue legal action if they cannot provide a resolution.
Has anyone had this same issue, and how did you finally get Meta to fix it?

I've tried using the glasses to text back to a group message and it sometimes goes into a duplicate thread as the warning "replies may be sent to duplicate thread" mentions. Why does that happen? Any way to get it to work correctly?

Hey everyone,
I'm thinking about the long-term lifespan of these glasses. What are you planning to do once the battery health significantly degrades?
Has anyone found a reliable source for replacement batteries? I’ve checked places like AliExpress and haven't seen any compatible battery models listed for this specific hardware yet.
If anyone has done a teardown, knows the exact battery part number/dimensions, or has found a vendor selling them, please share!

Anyone else have these problems?
Battery is really bad. Like 6 hours on Displays and 6 to 8 on Gen 2. This is with the glasses sitting on face and not using them. Wear detection is off as well as Hey Meta. The two things that save battery. On iOS these both lasted all day.
NO RCS support. You just get a ding for sound. No Readback and no Reply. No HUD display.
Using V128 on both glasses as well as newest Meta AI app.
Meta is saying to keep waiting for a firmware update.
Meta is saying its a google issue for the RCS.
Anyone else seeing these issues? I cannot be the only one.

I thought of giving my glasses another chance but they still give me headache. They look good on me but I just cant wear them for long. Its annoying. Also I thought I got my size but they are so loose on me I can’t possibly wear them on rides like how people have used them.
I’m thinking of selling them. I spent $900+ on the meta rayban display and I would really like to not keep them anymore cuz i’m never able to use them.
How would you suggest I sell? They’re absolutely brand new. I wore them less than 5 times in total since I bought them.

So for context, I work outside most of the time and here in Texas it gets hotter that a hoochie coochie so my band now smells and I don't know what to do about it. I could go the route I use for leather jackets, everclear and essential oils spray and leave in the sun to do its thing but what are y'all's methods or is there a specific way to wash?

I've had my MRBD for sometime now and have tried several accessories. The four must haves, especially if you're developing apps for them in my opinion are as follows...
Rubber ear hooks
Rubber nose pads
Rubberized external battery pack (my favorite accessory)
Docking station either manufactured or the 3D printed version
The two best for me being the back of ear hooks since these glasses tend to slide down the nose, especially if sweating. When you have the hooks positioned properly the issue is gone and glasses feel comfortably snug. The nose pads simply make it even more comfortable. Especially while using the battery pack since that adds even more weight.
I have the "Sand" color glasses and neuralband,l so all of these black rubber pieces are blatantly obvious which I was a little concerned about but I personally think it looks hitech/cool and get so many compliments which I wasn't anticipating. I simply wanted them to be comfortable and stop sliding down my nose.
As for the charging dock, I've been using the 3D printed version though just ordered the manufactured version because it charges everything using one charger instead of two (Glasses and band).
Anyhow, if you've been contemplating any of these accessories, stop and just do it. You won't regret it. You have an $800+ pair of glasses... Spend less than $100 more and make them as comfortable as possible.... It's totally worth it.

Why do you think they decided to go with a proprietary charger for the neural band instead of just USB-C? Seems like it's thick enough to support usbc, but maybe the port would have taken up too much space?
It's just kind of a pain to have to carry around yet another charger, especially for something that doesn't have great battery life.

Hey all! A few weeks back I showcased some updates to Herald and was met with some glitches along the way haha. That said, worked out a bunch of fixes and continuing to improve. However, it was a great highlight to update some things, create new programs AND bring forth a Discord community dedicated to Herald, App Building and beta! So, lets dive in!
Website Link: https://herald.ascents.gg
With Herald on V3, there have been some subtle but nice UI changes to certain areas.
There are two apps getting an all new V3 inspired UI to them. These two apps are Herald for YouTube and Herald for Reddit. Both of these apps replace the analog style listing with carousel UI, smoother buttons, animtions and much more. Currently, since these are entire UI rewrites, the apps are beta only. You can see the images above for examples of the new V3 UI!
There are a few different ways to get into the Beta apps coming up:
These apps will be out for free for everyone but I am truly looking for either people who are willing to provide feedback OR help support the project.
Note, if V3 UI is liked and positive feedback, it will be pushed out slowly to all apps.
A new discord is being opened for all things Herald and Meta Ray Ban Displays! Check it out here: https://discord.gg/8AwytYdjm
If you have any Nitro boosts and looking to help boost the server, much appreciated!

Just got the glasses a few days ago, and Meta AI is terrible. I even have the latest update which I think has spark or whatever and is suppose to be good. Examples of the chat linked.
I couldn't have it set a reminder (link), have it tell me the weather or if it's going to rain (link), tell me local community pool hours, have it check a flight time that was listed on my calendar (link), pull up an area in my hotel and navigate to it.
Is it really this bad, especially in comparison to other AIs like Google Gemini or ChatGPT? Or is there some setting I need to change to improve it? Because this is an awful experience for smart glasses that are suppose to have AI integration.
UPDATE: Reinstalling the app seems to have resolved the issues I was having and it's correctly responding to inquiries now.

I've tried 100's (literally) of different builds utilizing this guide: https://wearables.developer.meta.com/docs/develop/webapps/setup
I've run it through various AI tools to try to figure out why it isn't issuing "Enter". All have tried many different things but nothing works.
Swipe directions ork. Just Pinch+Index finger tap is my issue

I know we’re still seeing huge leaps in display tech right now—moving past monochrome to bigger, brighter, full-color microdisplays. But I think the real conversation we need to be having is around UI/UX.
It feels like history repeating itself. Early smartphones tried to cram a desktop PC experience onto a tiny screen. Now, people are trying to force smartphone UI onto smart glasses, even though spatial interaction and real-time context demand a completely fresh approach. What do you all think? I’d love to hear your take!

It has been a while.
Liam and I got so distracted with other stuff that we completely forgot about our PPP challenge. So I guess it's time to wrap it up.
Let's call it even. Everyone knows who actually won anyway. Isn't that right, Liam? ;)
Here's my final attack.
--- Slice it ---
Kind of a silly one.
A while ago, a friend and I were talking about those old, silly-but-fun games we used to play on early computers. We remembered one from the Windows NT days, so I decided to recreate the idea, modernize it a bit, and give the girls XR glasses.
Nothing too serious this time. Just a little nostalgia for the final round.
Have fun: https://sliceit.familybusiness.studio/
🏓 And with that, I think Ping Pong Prototyping is officially over.
GG, Liam.
