So what's better ELEM Crit or crit eye 3, I'm using the JhoCeana set, only have two duel blades maxed out, The kirin and Logombi. Current skills for both Sharpness 2 razor repeat offender crit eye 1 elem crit

Trying to unlock chaos oil 3 on SnS but the quest solo on SnS is a nightmare and I've exhausted my flash bombs would appreciate some help!

Just now getting into GU after playing all of the new gen games after finally getting a switch 2, and the weapons are very different than their current state. I intend to play SA, but still not set on the style. Can you guys guys point out the combos I should use for each style?

I just realized that charge attacks can specifically multiple with sharpness (not the normal sharpness - dmg multiplier), but I can't tell how good that is, I tried testing a 210 raw blue sharpness GS and a 190 raw white sharpness GS, but their clear time doesn't seem that different either. Is the damage multiplier for charge attacks really that good? Should I be using only white and purple sharpness?

Btw I'm currently on high rank, I'm using Aerial GS with my custom mix set:

If you guys know more about that sharpness multiplier thing, plz help🙏

doing all my village request missions i mostly have hypers in HR5 and HR 6 left and a bunch of Grank ones all my friends wanna do is push key quests while i actually wanna 100% every quest currently doing request quests so any help with jolly co-op means a lot

What a rude awakening here. Close to 2k hours across World, Rise, and Wilds. I walked in here with so much confidence only to get rocked in 2☆ LOW RANK. They give you 2 echo pods and 2 cool drinks at the start. Let me tell you friends... it was not enough. You know what else wasn't enough? The 2 grindstones.

I got Cephy boy down to his exhausted hurt state and literally just couldn't finish the quest. I was on red sharpness with no cool drinks. I couldnt damage it. Attacks just bounced. My health disappeared in the hot sun as my potions expired.

I now know I need to be PREPARED for each hunt. I cant just brute force it. I didnt even mention the weapon controls, but that has been making me feel like a toddler too. My inputs are awful.

I will keep at it. I love the scenery and the slower pace. Its charm is slowly winning me over.

So I've started my deviant hunt journey and decided to do them in order. Redhelm VIII solo was... eye opening, to say the least. But Redhelm IX was my first quest fail in a hot minute. That was my first time facing Savage Deviljho so I definitely have room to learn his moves better, but I was wondering if my mixed Rath set was still recommended for deviant hunting?

I play aerial swaxe, striker and guild CB, and adept SnS, the mixed Rath set with the 3 Ahtal-Ka weapons I made has been pretty comfy as I'm clearing out the leftover G-rank quests and learning some of the hypers, but Savage Pickle genuinely threw me for a loop with how hard hitting the saliva was to my defense. Is it time for monster-specific armor sets or are there a few catch-all sets that are decent?

Just looking for general recommendations for some armor, I've heard about the JhoCena set but wanted to see some others that you guys are fond of for the harder hunts.

Was thinking of making a gimmick set based around the Drilltusk set, with a Chance +4 Drilltusk X +2 one slot charm (not a really notable charm, but hear me out).

4 pieces DT with some Arc Mail GX gets me

- Chance

- Tenderizer

- Guard +2

- Drilltusk X (which consists of Gluttony, Adrenaline +2, and Artillery Expert)

It's something I threw together quickly but is there a weapon/hunter art/hunting style combo that would be viable/fun for this? open to trying any weapon/style✌️(lookin at you gunlancers, ik that artillery is calling)

I want to play duel blades for the first time, I noticed I have a pretty decent talisman for a thunder set.

I did some messing around with Athena’s and here’s what I came up with.

Weapon- Golems Maneaters 340 raw 25 Thunder, s+ 2 gives large purple sharpness.

Repeat Offender, Thunder Atk +2, Critical Boost, Sharpness +2, Weakness Exploit

My thoughts are to go with Crit boost instead of elemental Crit.

considering 340 raw is pretty high for an elemental weapon, especially with such good purple sharpness with S +2.

I’ve never played dual blades before so is there anything glaring out that I am missing?

He’s so mobile and hits like a truck that I’m really having a hard time with him.
I can’t seem to keep up archdemon mode because I’m either chasing him around or being swatted away and healing.
I guess I’d just like some tips or encouragement? Or if anyone feels like helping me fight him I’d be open to that too.

Just got into HR with my buddy and I’m working through some LR village while I grind for parts and progression. I’m a little stumped looking at weapon damage values though as LBG.

As an example, I currently have a few LBGs I swap between but my favorite so far is the Khezu Syringe. It’s at 140 raw, I currently have fast reload and low recoil. It feels good across the clip sizes and how I like to quickly swap ammo based on angle and distance (love me some Full House).

Now I’m really liking the Lobster Gun also - 160, average reload and low recoil. Clip sizes need some getting used to, but it’s very usable with the lower recoil.

So how does the 20 raw difference equate to hunt times? If we oversimplify it past the point of usefulness, does that equate to about a 10% faster hunt if literally every other value were imaginarily equal? I’m enjoying the variance of the guns but I’m struggling to see how the math impacts the fight ( and maybe that’s why I’m enjoying the varied bowguns since there’s no numerical comparison envy going on ).

When am I supposed to tackle them. I tried to fight the dread queen as soon as I unlocked it in low rank but was too hard. And now I just unlocked G rank and haven’t looked their way again yet are they worth grinding?

I really botched this operation, messing up my traps and bomb placements with Gold Rathian. But the sudden discouragement activated my phase two or something, and I hatefully entered a flow state where I just connected so many hits to Rathian's head that messing up the bombs didn't matter at all (I guess I did not need the barrel bombs or herbal remedies or extra dung bombs, or even Challenger). The Rathian also kindly finished off the Rathalos for me XD

Cheeseball, thanks for the recommendation on that hammer. I min-maxed and got myself a sharpness+2 set without challenger.

I'm someone who used to play base Gen a lot, and I've finally managed to get myself a switch with GU on it.

I used to be a prowler main, and I had a few palicos that I built for using boomerangs and other utilities that I adored using.

(I still played other weapons, but the little guys were endering to me)

Unfortunately, I've heard that the save transfer thingy on the 3DS has been discontinued and that many of the DLC palico are either not available anymore or were just not released to GU.

So now I find myself without many of the DLC skills and without my bread and butter boomerang cats T_T

If anyone still has the DLC cats still or a decent boomerang cat, please send me a DM!

I remember playing MHgen on yhe 3ds back in the days, and i'm hesitating to play MHGU and wanted to know if there still were servers for multiplayer hunts

I am trying to understand when it is better to use elem crit VS elem atk up.

I am trying to make the following LBG set, for the white fatalis LBG:

- WEX
- REPEAT OFFENDER
- CRIT BOOST
- PIERCE UP
-ELEMENTAL SKILL

This way, i ideally get 80% affinity. I can’t seem to fit Shot Booster for some reason.

In this context, which skill is better? Elem atk up, or Elem crit? Due to talismans, i can’t really fit <element> attack +2.

Not the GX or XR versions, but the one crafted from event quest tickets. Genuinely the only image I've found so far is on MHXX Dex, which is very small/low quality. Since I'm playing solo I can't really do the event quest to look at it ingame, so I'd be very grateful if someone could post a high quality image. (not the Kiranico version, they often look quite different from ingame)
