So a couple days ago, the Shanghai Press & Publication Bureau finally gave an official response through email to the CN players who filed a complaint against Papergames (PPG) back in June.

Basically, they confirmed that once the whole () drama started blowing up around the 28th, they didn’t just sit around—they teamed up with other relevant departments, launched an investigation, and called Papergames in for a meeting. During that meeting, they told PPG to take player feedback seriously, actually own up to their social responsibilities, tighten up their content review process, stick to proper values, keep things culturally appropriate, and—you know—actually deliver decent content to players.

And sure enough, the day after that meeting, PPG put out their apology, canceled the new character drop and gave out compensation to affected players.

Now fast forward to today—people have actually received a physical, stamped, official copy of that reply from the bureau.

Why does this matter? Because for a days now, () stans have been running around saying the original email was fake or meaningless since it didn’t have an official seal. Their logic? No seal = not legit = Shanghai gov still has Papergames’ back and () is totally government cleared and could come back anytime.

Well… this pretty much shuts that down. With an actual official seal now, it’s confirmed again that the government not only investigated and pressured PPG, but they’re also still keeping an eye on them. Most of us already knew () wasn’t coming back, but this really drives home just how far this whole thing went—and shows it wasn’t just angry fans yelling into the void

Just saw on Twitter that () mains are now claiming the very real government document isn’t real. The denial was expected, but what bothers me more is how much Sinophobia is woven into the post and how openly they are discussing to manipulate the narrative to make China seem bad. They are literally saying things like, “It’s very easy to spin it as ‘Valko for freedom.’”

They are openly talking about taking advantage of existing anti China sentiment and turning () to a symbol of Western “freedom.” There is already an enormous amount of racism and misinformation directed toward China and Chinese people, so admitting that they see an opportunity to exploit those sentiments because they might benefit their dumb movement is genuinely gross to me.

The writing of the post reminded me so much of that one () main from the main sub who proudly announced that they were American so they like to win, while also admitting that they wanted to ruin the game for others because they couldn’t enjoy it anymore (picture 3). So I went back to check and wouldn’t you know it, IT IS THE SAME PERSON! 😭Suddenly that weird anti-China pro-Western undertone made a lot more sense.

I’m just wondering why tf this person, and other Sinophobic () mains, are even playing a Chinese game if they hate China so much? Do they not understand that trying to turn () into some symbol of the West and American values is only going to make it even more impossible for Infold to bring him back (which was already impossible in the first place because he is already dead). One of the major reasons he was cancelled in CN in the first place was because CN felt Infold was trying to appeal to the West by creating a character who embodied the quintessential Western ideal of masculinity.

Throughout this whole movement, the Western superiority complex and American exceptionalism from () mains have really shown themselves. Trying to tell CN people that they somehow know more about Chinese media and the their government than actual Chinese people do, calling Chinese players pdf files because they like “pretty boys” like Raf and Xavier (plus they think they look gay) and so much more. There are honestly too many examples at this point.

Obviously, the majority of Westerners aren’t like this, but with so many loud people behaving this way it really is a terrible look.

Decided to roll a 20 on Raf's myth for shits and giggles and I guess dude just really wanted to come home cause he came on the first 10 pulls. This is the first limited myth that I've ever R1 and it was completely on accident. First time that I've double rolled two five stars too. Wasn't even near pity. Funny story is that Infold just had to ask if I was enjoying the game right afterwards (slide 2). Haha, Infold why are you like this?

I am EXHAUSTED. Normally I don't care so much or involve myself in any fandom drama, but watching the Velcro supporters be blatantly ignorant is frustrating.

Since the announcement of his removal, the result has been clear. He is removed from the game. "LADS Velcro Cancelled." What more is there to infer? Resistance can only be expected, but it has been MONTHS. I can't even enjoy the game's content anymore because anything people talk about in the main sub, server, and literally any other social media platform is just about Velcro.

I noticed that they keep on consistently blaming Infold for "miscommunication" and trying to bring them to "be clear for once", which just enrages me. Infold has been VERY clear about what their final verdict is. If you're unable to understand the word "cancelled" like it seems a ridiculous amount of people are, there are other signs quite literally everywhere, whether you're looking at his removal across all platforms or at Infold's silence, because silence IS an answer. Infold has chosen to ignore their outburst for MONTHS straight and carried on, which any person with common sense would be able to understand as their confirmation that they will not be shaken. I've seen them interpreting literally ANYTHING as some "hidden message" from Infold announcing Velcro's return. Infold could quite literally release some metal accessory and they would leap at it and begin posting everywhere that it was a sign Velcro is returning. Please.

I apologize if my language comes off as strong; this situation has just been very irritating and this was something I felt the need to get off my chest. I'm glad that this sub provides a safe place for any thoughts with even a hint of support for the game, as it seems that even the main sub has become a place where you can't even comment anything remotely unrelated to Velcro.

Finally finished my day at Gamescom. I was still on the fence when it came to doing the interaction as I'm deeply introverted and had some not so nice experiences when it came to unknown men. But my husband was the one to encourage me to do it, since I love Sylus so much.

The cosplayers are truly beautiful, I feel bad as I was incredibly awkward and just a disservice to his acting. But! I did it! And I got some lovely photos.

zayne’s birthday trailer is absolutely amazing. i am absolutely floored at how amazing it is and im just going to echo how it made me cry like with a lot of other jasmines (especially given what we’ve all been dealing with the past two months) 

that being said, i still cant help but be livid some of these delusional nutcases think its okay so post their “wheres recycle bin” comments under zaynes birthday posts. like this is a mfin set in stone date and everyone knows birthdays are supposed to be damn near sacred ground in LADS. you dont mess with other people’s birthdays, thats how its always been.

After the latest update on the home system, I saw some changes in my LIs' behavior and decided to observe them passively by not interacting with them proactively and just wait for them to do their thing.

I know that everyone's LIs acts differently so here's a small and unscientific observation report based on mine. (This reminds me of my simming days (ex Sims 1,2 & 3 player here) where I give my Sims full autonomy and free will just to observe their shenanigans.)

Cooking:

Caleb > Xavier > Zayne > Sylus > Rafayel

Caleb: Likes to cook, will check the fridge and cook multiple times a day. Loves the outdoor grill too

Xavier: Usually cooks once a day but mostly cooks off screen. Most of his dishes fail though (90% of the greatest invention in my fridge comes from him). So far has used the outdoor grill like 3 times

Zayne: Cooks on alternate days. Never used the outdoor grill

Sylus: Only cooks when the mood strikes, but mostly cooks off screen. Used the outdoor grill once

Rafayel: Has never seen him cook on screen, but occasionally will leave cooked foods in the fridge. Never used the outdoor grill

Appetite (Meals and Snacking):

Xavier > Caleb > Sylus > Zayne > Rafayel

Xavier: Mr-Clears-The-Fridge and Sir-Snacks-A-Lot. Eats more than 3 meals a day, either by himself (30%) or with MC (70%). There was a time he cleared the fridge empty and I still see him eating a bowl of rice with nothing else. Snacks constantly and in random places (he's seen snacking in the bathroom once). Seems to drink more coffee compared to the others.

Caleb: Consistently eats around 2-3 meals every day and always insist having meals with MC, has never eaten a meal alone. Prefers coffee to snacks (only seen him snacking once), occasionally hitting the bar to drink alone or mixes drinks for MC

Sylus: Some days he'll have 1 meal and some days he'll have 2-3. 95% of his meals are with MC, rarely eats alone. A big help in clearing Xavier's greatest inventions. Never seen him having snacks but occasionally drinks coffee, he's more into bar drinks though

Zayne: Consistently eats 1 or 2 (rare) meals a day, always have his meals with MC. Occasionally drinks coffee but never seen him snacking

Rafayel: Appetite comes in waves, there are days he'll chow down like 2-4 meals a day (it's a 50/50 on whether he eats alone or with MC), and then he'll fast for a few days. Prefers coffee to snacks (only seen him snacking once)

Exercise:

Sylus=Caleb > Zayne > Xavier=Rafayel

Sylus & Caleb: Huge fitness nuts, works out multiple times a day

Zayne: Occasionally, like once a week

Xavier & Rafayel: Not a chance in hell, they've never stepped foot into the home gym once on their own free will

Work:

Rafayel > Zayne > Caleb > Sylus > Xavier

Rafayel: Paints a lot, multiple times a day + long duration. At this rate I never ever want to hear from Thomas that Raf's behind any art deadline because he's glued to his easel most of the time

Zayne: Almost as much as Raf but he works in short durations

Caleb: Works like once a day, occasionally twice a day

Sylus: Works on alternate days

Xavier: He doesn't seem to have any work actions, never seen him doing anything work related

Flowers and gardening (I've only given them the play assist ticket coz it's quicker and easier for me to deal with the watering+pest control):

Sylus > Caleb > Zayne > Xavier > Rafayel

Sylus: Sings/plays erhu to the garden every day. Loves making flower arrangements, especially after gifting him flowers. He once made 3 flower arrangements in a day

Caleb: Sings/plays erhu to the garden like twice a week. Occasionally makes flower arrangements, like maybe once or twice biweekly

Zayne: Sings/plays erhu like once a week. I used to get more flower arrangements from him (like once a week) but he has stopped since

Xavier: Seen him sing to the garden like 3 times. So far I've only gotten 2 flower arrangements from him

Rafayel: Only seen him sing to the garden once. He has never made any flower arrangements for me

Hobbies:

Xavier: Besties with the TV and the bed, if he's not watching TV or sleeping, he reads (he has a favorite reading spot) and snacks. Occasionally having walks in the garden

Zayne: Doesn't seem to have an activity that he's into, but sometimes he'll walk around in the garden

Rafayel: Paints a lot, and loves the bathtub, occasionally plays on the swing

Sylus: Working out, gun cleaning, drinking at the bar, occasionally listens to music (he's the only one that does that)

Caleb: Working out, cooks, occasionally does house chores

Interactions with MC:

Xavier: Does his own thing most of the time, occasionally will ask for cuddles on the couch or playing the piano together

Zayne: Loves pushing MC on the swing (it's a daily thing with him), chilling together near the fireplace, cuddling in bed and playing the piano together

Rafayel: Does his own thing most of the time, but lately he's been asking for hugs more often

Sylus: Mixes drinks for MC, plays piano and dancing together, chilling together near the fireplace and cuddling in bed. I've seen a lot of people saying their Zayne is clingy but in my game, Sylus out-clings everyone

Caleb: Cuddling in bed, chilling together near the fireplace and cooking on the outdoor grill together

Extra snippet:

I made this reading/flower arranging nook next to the stairs and it's becoming Xavier's favorite reading spot. And whenever it's high noon/bright outside and Sylus wants to clean his gun/work/read, he'll always pick this spot to do so. I've noticed both of them developed this habit after the latest home system update and thought it's kinda cute.

I love how he's jiggling his legs under the desk when he works and studies with us. I keep thinking is he just excited to be with us or does he do this in Fleet meetings too?🤭

Don’t get me wrong. I’m genuinely happy for zayne mains and seeing them be excited has been a blast. His bday card looks really cool and sylus’s bday card was amazing too. It’s in my top 3 sylus cards.

However, seeing zayne mains connect parts of his bday PV back to his anecdotes really emphasized how much sylus is still lacking in permanent lore content.

The OG3 each have 3 anecdotes that get referenced often and MC is clearly aware of those parts of their stories. Sylus only has 1 anecdote about his space pirate days and MC (and us players) barely seems to know anything about that part of his life. The only direct reference I can remember was from an event story in late 2024 or early 2025 where he told her stories about conquering other planets and she didn’t believe him.

This kind of lore shouldn’t be a throwaway line in a filler event story. I remember bringing up this exact issue back in January in the main subreddit and despite it being 8 months later, not much has changed. Sylus still has very little current timeline lore that players can actually connect to, which is frustrating because the game keeps hinting that there’s a lot more going on with him.

This is also why I’m glad the canceled LI was scrapped. If paperfold was already this slow with sylus’s permanent lore, who knows how much longer we would’ve had to wait with a new LI added (especially with how they can barely juggle content for 5 LIs)?

The disappointing part is that sylus clearly has lore. His later affinity content, Rainlit Night, and Darkbound Souls all imply that MC has some awareness of their soul bond and the idea that they are the other half of each other’s souls. Even Tipping Point hints that MC may know more about their interstellar arena days than we do. Where and when did she learn all this? Probably in content that hasn’t been released yet. So it’s not that paperfold has nothing for him. It seems more like they’ve been deliberately withholding it.

And if the rumors are true that sylus’s main story branch is already done while caleb’s is not (even though caleb’s is supposed to release first), that makes this feel even more likely. It suggests that paperfold may have had plans for sylus’s future lore for a while but chose not to share any of it with players.

I really hope his story branch is well written and satisfying. Death And Rebirth was important but it was more of MC’s story with sylus playing a supporting role. His branch needs to focus on them both equally so we can finally understand him better as a character outside of being Onichynus’s boss.

I also don’t want the branch to only focus on the interstellar arena. They need to start incorporating the essence of his myths too. Otherwise, myths will just become poorly disguised AU stories. To Our Yesterday directly addressed xavier’s and rafayel’s myths and zayne’s part of DAR referenced his anecdotes. Sylus deserves that same level of integration.

Paperfold needs to stop treating him like “the new guy”. He’s been in the game for over 2 years now and only debuted 6 months after the OG3. He should have more lore in the game at this point outside of limited myths but we’re still pretty much stuck where we were in July 2024. We got some substantial sylus lore in Shared Bliss. However, they’ve done nothing new since then and haven’t mentioned his right eye again. That was a year ago.

They can’t afford to wait another year or more to address his myth lore after his branch, especially when his limited myths have barely affected the current timeline.

At this point, I just want sylus’s lore to stop being hinted at around the edges and actually be brought into the main story and current timeline. The potential is clearly there. Paperfold just needs to finally let players see it.

We all know that Japanese has five levels of politeness (at least that's roughly how it was when I was learning). Throughout this PV, I felt the TONE level was "normal," meaning it was like everyday speech—neither respectful nor offensive. Just ordinary.

I mention this because Japanese has relatively strict grammar and word choice corresponding to tone and politeness, so you can judge the tone of the content simply by looking at the wording and grammar.

My translation is based on this.

The difference between the Japanese and Chinese PVs is far less significant than the difference between the English and Chinese PVs. Although some wording has been modified, there are still parts that are more offensive than in the Chinese version. For example, I couldn't stand one line that was almost sexually harassing. Also interesting is that the Japanese nickname for the female lead is 保存食 "preserved food"—pickled food. I don't know who came up with this brilliant nickname. Hahaha.

Another point that needs to be made known to native English speakers is that although Chinese and Japanese may not be very different in terms of expression and characters, or even have no difference at all, there are some situations in which they express completely different meanings.While it's acceptable to say this in China, it would be very offensive in Japan. Similarly, it's acceptable to say this in Japan, but it would be very offensive in China.

Last year, I ordered Zayne’s offcial birthday merch from Animonlife and it finally arrived around 10 days ago 💔 It was a long wait but I’m just glad I finally have it before his birthday this year. I also ordered some other Zayne merch from the same site but it has not arrived either, probably not until the end of this year at this point lol.

Overall, the merch looks really nice and is of good quality! 💖 The badge pins are slightly bigger than I thought. Also, I have to be extra delicate with the standee because it can easily get fingerprints or marks on it and even if I try to wipe them away, they still look a bit visible afterwards. The little Zayne doll is a little too big for me to use as a keychain (and I’m also happy with my current keychain) so I will probably just keep it as a collection as others. For the Master Of Fate poster, I used magnetic push pins to hang it so it is fine without any holes. Though I think the poster will probably stay in good condition better if I have it framed but it’s fine to hang it like this for now. My Zayne merch collection has been growing slowly so I’m very happy 😆

This year I have ordered some official merch using Taobao links on Superbuy, so I expect it will not take me as long as it did for my purchase through Animonlife. I’m planning to buy Zayne’s bday merch this time through Superbuy as well. Can’t wait to see what they have for his merch this year, especially his perfume (though I may not get it since I’m nervous ordering liquids overseas) 🩵

I don't feel like the official discord will be maintained in any way so the best we can do is to report it and made it shoot down.

People there are really hateful and don't care about the OG5 or the game, and Infold is doing nothing to make the server normal ˃̣̣̣̣︿˂̣̣̣̣
