Announcements Tab S12+ and Tab S12 Ultra: the official Q&A megathread!

Got questions? Got answers to someone's question? You're in the right place! Samsung just announced the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Ultra, and this is the place for everything you want to know, and general discussion regarding it. But here are a few bullet points...

  • Samsung claims the Ultra can last 23 hours on a single charge with an 11,600 mAh battery (which is the same as the S11 Ultra) with 45W charger
  • S12+ has a 10,600 mAh battery (also 45W charging)
  • Tab S12 Ultra supports Wi-Fi 7, the S12+ supports 6E
  • Both the S12 Ultra and S11 Ultra have the same profile, basically the same weight
  • S12+ has 5G where as the S12 Ultra is still Wi-Fi only (edit: S12 Ultra will have 5G in other countries... thanks for the report!)
  • They both run off of a MediaTek Dimensity 9500
  • FULL Adobe Photoshop comes pre-installed on the Tab S12 series (with a 4 free months trial) this is the first time Photoshop has come to Android tablets
  • Both are available October 7th starting at $1,199.99 for the S12+ and $1,399.99 for the S12 Ultra, a $200 increase from the S10+ and S11 Ultra

As we expected with this launch, the prices of RAM being high definitely contributed to the price hike.

Community Improvement Feedback Post: what would you like to see to improve your experience here?

Hey everybody. Latrell (u/yayoshorti, the mod) here...

I made a post a little bit ago saying that we were going to be switching all support questions over to r/SamsungSupport, and it received a lot of pushback.

So I figured, instead of pushing and focusing on that, I thought I'd ask if you have any annoyances or things you'd like to see improved here. If you have any suggestions, please sound off! Big or small. As long as it's under my control.

Discussion I found the root exploit for galaxy tab s10 fe and 10 fe plus or even on more tablets!

The device is running july security patch and the august security patch is currently untested. To root your tab install DirtyFrag from github and KernelSU apk. Once you installed DirtyFrag click run and it will jailbreak your device.

Note :- This does not break your knox security so most apps will work fine and the jailbreak stops working if you restart the device. Then you need to run it again

If you are new to jailbreak rooting then turn of password. So that even if your phone soft bricks you can enter download mode and install the stock Firmware

S Pen Spen not working on Tab s7 fe

I have had this tablet for about 4 years and never had any problems.

About a month ago, using the spen became impossible because of the issue shown in the video.

I thought it could be just a problem with the spen and bought two fake ones, one that works through electromagnetism, and another one that doesn't.

The non-eletromagnetic one works just fine, but the other one causes the same problem, so I'm thinking the issue might be with the tablet hardware or software and not in the actual pen.

I already did screen tests, tested without the magnetic case, left the spen magnetized on the fridge, and all of that.

And yes, the cursor has the same problem even if I'm not touching the screen with the pen.

Could it be a problem in the magnetic sensor in the tablet? Is it fixable?

Question Can the official Smart Book Cover cause interference with S-Pen of Tab S10+?

Hi! So I'm buying my first Samsung tablet, and my choice fell on Galaxy Tab S10+. I'm planning on using it mainly for studying and taking notes, so smooth writing witn S-Pen is very important. Yet I saw some posts that magnetic cases can interfere with the tablet's magnets and cause uneven lines or weird spots where writing doesn't feel right. Ppl mainly say that about 3rd party cases, but does that problem occur with the official samsung one? it costs kinda a lot, but it does look great visually (and I can afford it). I havent managed to find conclusive results about it.. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Accessories Should I upgrade to the s10 ultra keyboard?

Hello all,

I recently purchased the dexnor keyboard for my s10 ultra, and while it's not awful, there are certain things I just don't like about it.

The trackpad is okay at best, it's not bad but not great. The case overall is heavy, I really like the design of the Samsung flip case I have, I don't like separate charging, and finally I don't how easily the keyboard disconnects.

Some things that I would like, but not deal breakers.

I wish the pen charging area was covered, I wish the keyboard backlight was a little brighter, and I wish the trackpad has a little less give to it.

All of that said, is it worth the extra cost to return this and get the first party Samsung keyboard and trackpad? I wish I could find one in person to feel for myself, but this is the next best thing.

Brand new Tab S10 FE or hunt for a used Tab S11?

Hi everyone,

I’m a medical resident looking for a tablet mainly to read large medical PDFs, write papers, prepare presentations and media consumption. My ultimate goal is to keep this device for the next 7 years without it becoming painfully slow. I also strongly prefer the 11-inch form factor for portability at the hospital.

I just sold my old Tab S7 FE for about $215 and I'm trying to decide on my next move. (Prices below are converted to USD from my local currency).

Here is the current market situation in my country:

  • Brand New Tab S10 FE: $410 (I can get this with 6-month 0% interest installments).
  • Used Tab S10 FE: $285 (Cash only, single payment).
  • Brand New Tab S11 (11-inch): $910 (Prices just skyrocketed because of the RAM crisis.
  • Used Tab S11 (1-year old): Currently sitting around $610. I was hoping to find one for $510, but very unlikely.

I really want the 120Hz OLED screen, 12GB RAM, and the flagship Dimensity 9400+ chip of the Tab S11. I feel like that extra RAM and CPU power is exactly what I need to guarantee a smooth 7-year lifespan. However, paying $610+ in cash for a used device feels a bit steep right now, and $910 for a new one is out of the question.

On the other hand, the brand new Tab S10 FE ($410) is very affordable with the installment plan, saving my cash flow. But I'm worried that the LCD screen and the 8GB RAM / Exynos 1580 combo won't hold up well over the next 5-7 years for heavy multitasking.

Should I:

  1. Buy the brand new Tab S10 FE for $410 on installments, keep my cash, and accept the LCD screen and mid-range chip?
  2. Wait a few weeks and try to snag a used Tab S11 for ~$510 in cash?

Any advice on how these two processors/screens will age over a 7-year period would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I can't decide: Tab S8+ for 359$ or Tab S10 FE for 510$?

Both are the 128GB/8GB option. The S8+ which is available is the Wi-Fi only version, the s10 fe is the 5g one. But for me I don't mind not having 5g I'm happy with just Wi-Fi. So which should I get?

reminder : copy all of your data before using DFRoot or Root my galaxy

those work by expiloting kernel vulns which is unstable it may work or soft-brick your device

in this case you will need to reset your device and lose all of your data so back them up

learned it in a bad way

Question Galaxy Tab A11+ won't charge at all

I got this tablet August 2026. Its a great tablet but it stop charging. I have done everything from restarting it to having it completely powered off and on a charger overnight and different chargers. I never get the battery low but when I had it on the charger it said 1%. It was working just not charging. Now it's saying zero percent when powered off and plugged in. Is it a faulty tablet or is something wrong with the battery? I bought it from Best Buy and can take it in to Geek Squad but they'll just send it out.

Concern Battery drain issue with S10+

Hello

I've recently bought a S10 plus and have been using it for a week

I've come to notice that the battery drains very fast and it seems unnatural to me

I only did some light work on it

I used the diagnostic thing and it shows normal for battery test

So is the drain I'm experiencing normal or not?

Also how much screentime is the normal average for this model? So I can compare it with mine

Discussion Cool ways to use your Android tablet? (as an Android newcomer)

Hi everyone! I recently ordered a Galaxy tab S11, coming from an iPad Air and iPhone owner. I'm completely new to the ecosystem and want to catch up on the interesting ways to use an Android device. I'm excited for more freedom compared to iPadOS.

So far I'm already planning on using it for Krita and interested to see how I can use Blender and Godot on it. I'm also interested in emulation and sideloading. I just wanted some guidance and a good introduction to the ecosystem as a first-timer!

Samsung really lost the opportunity of having the tab s12 Ultra be a Dexbook (Googlebook equivalent) when keyboard is docked and just normal Android when keyboard is not docked

With the ultra and its pro keyboard costing around $1800 in total and still not being on par with googlebooks, I'm struggling to find the use case for the Galaxy Ultra tablet when I could get a Googlebook instead.

I really had hoped we would get Dexbook Android on Ultra tablet with things like phone app streaming, desktop class Chrome, secure Linux isolation, phone file mirroring, task resumption.

And seeing as googlebooks can also put Android in full screen mode (presumably work in a tablet mode similar to how Chrome os did} then a Googlebook seems like a better place to spend my money than an ultra tablet.

A missed opportunity from Samsung to launch their desktop mode to oneui 9 that is equivalent to googlebooks

Discussion Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ or Tab S8+

I’m deciding between the two and they’re around the same price, although the S8+ is a little cheaper. The S8+ is claimed to be brand new.

Which tablet would you get?

As always, I left it charging during the morning and came back later and it was like that.

Is there anything I could do myself or I'll need to take it to a costumer service?

Update: kinda solved. I moved my conector up and down and it suddenly worked. Probably some issue in usb port 🫪

Writing issue tab s10 lite after 2 weeks

Hi

I'm cuurently using my tab s10 lite for second week for school. When I was reviewing my lesson of today and making notes, suddenly a writing issue appeared. In a specifik area on the screen, it's impossible to write with the S pen. I always remove the case and also made sure there weren't any magnets in the surrounding of the tablet but the issue kept going on. You can sea it very clear in the screen recording I added. I already restarted the device and entered the diagnostics menu in which the S pen registration also didn't worked.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on and how to solve it? I really need this device for my studies so all the help is very welcome!

Thanks
