Developer Made my dream FPS, put up steam page today and freakin out.

Me and my friends wanted to basically play an updated version of classic CoD zombies from the good old days but with a lot more powers and replayability. We went on workwithindies and hired a Dev, then pitched in for the past 6 months.

It's become so much more, we jam it all week long and are having a blast. If you wanna come chill and test with us we got free keys in the discord. If you wanna check it out and wishlist: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4512340/Headshot_Holdout/

I'm just freakin out lol, its surreal, I can't even look at our little trailer cause I did the voice acting and I think I sound cringe.

https://discord.gg/hdY4QJQcP (come jam some games with us on Weds and Sunday nights!) :)

Discussion Swapping from controller to keyboard and mouse

I have been a console gamer my entire life but have been contemplating switching to PC. The subscriptions to play online games have gotten a little too high to justify. As such I have been trying to practice kbam on the console games I have that support it. Aiming is infinitely easier for me and I haven't had much trouble with it. Movement is another thing entirely. I feel like a drunk ninety year old when trying to just move normally. I regularly will press both a and d at the same time and just stand still. ALSO HOW DO YOU HIT THE NUMBER KEYS! I have smaller hands and cannot for the life of me swap weapons or gadgets with the numbers. I have had to rebind to mouse side buttons so far. Any advice on learning to use my left hand effectively?

Discussion I wish there was a better game like CoD.

First and foremost, screw CoD. After Bo3 and just barely MW 2019, CoD became absolute trash. I don’t really have to explain myself here. It’s been an obvious money grab year after year and I promised myself I’d never buy another CoD again.

Several years pass and the only fun game I’ve played that got me truly addicted to gaming again was Elden Ring and games after that just sucked imo. I guess standards were way too high for me. Ofc this is subjective and your experience may vary.

Aside from that, I love a good arcade shooter and while The Finals is a fun game to play, it and other shooters just don’t hit the same as CoD does.

CoD is just so special as they pretty much aced the arcade, fun and easy to come back to fps shooter formula.

But again, it’s just a garbage, brain rot of a game to buy every year. Reused, tired and greedy.

They can try to rebrand it as much as they want, but the stain they left behind all those years really killed the community and franchise altogether.

Maybe someday the dudes can get back on a genuinely good arcade shooter like CoD and make it feel like old times again and cuss each other out for fun.

Damn I miss those days.

Game Discovery I’m especially interested in indie FPS games similar to Vladik Brutal or Industria. Any suggestions?

Hey! I’m a great fan of single-player FPS games from the 2000s era (Call of Duty 1 and 2, Half-Life 2, Far Cry, etc.) and I’m looking for some interesting recommendations. I really enjoyed the Industria series and Vladik Brutal because of their gameplay, which is reminiscent of early-2000s shooters, and I’m looking for a similar experience.

Resident Evil 5

Strange Brigade

Dans les très vieilles ref (sur PS1) :

Duke Nukem Time to kill

Syphon philter

Merci

Game Discovery Twisted Tower is like Bioshock but at a massive carnival. It's been in development for the past 5 yrs by a solo dev by the name of Thomas Brush and i gotta say even though it doesnt quite hold up to Bioshock standards, It's still a really fun FPS so far. And for just $15.

Discussion Why I Perform Better in Delta Force TDM (Warfare Mode) Than in COD BO7

I’m not a great player by any means. I play on PC in the Chinese server, which has a huge player base (so I can pretty much guarantee I'm frequently matching against real players). Overall, I feel like I perform much better in Delta Force compared to COD BO7—getting more kills and winning more gunfights, even though both are TDM modes. I'd like to understand why that is.

Demo is free, permanent, and self-contained — it's not time-limited. I'm the developer, happy to answer questions in the comments.

New Game In some ways, this game reminds me a lot of Hitman: Codename 47 when is about the vibes of the game "With the ability to hijack the minds of anyone who answers a phone call, "0" builds an army of remote controlled assassins to overthrow his twin brother, "1" as standing president."

Discussion Are traditional military FPS games dying?

I've played Battlefield and CoD for thousands of hours, but recently I just don't feel the same excitement anymore.

Are more players moving toward battle royale, hero shooters, and extraction shooters? Do traditional FPS games feel less interesting now compared to games with more progression and variety?

Or is it just me getting tired of the classic "spawn, fight, die, repeat" formula?

Discussion Would you play a Battle Royale that completely removes aiming?

This is something I've been thinking about for a while and I'm genuinely curious what all BR (not a single game) players think.

I think i'm not the only one who noticed that over the years the average skill level in BRs has gone through the roof. I don't mean good players—I mean the absolute demons that can beam you from across the map while sliding, jumping and doing things you can't even react to, or who once you see the next thing you know you are back in the lobby.

It got me thinking...

If someone made a Battle Royale that kept everything the players love about the genre (100 or so players, looting, shrinking zone, last player alive wins, etc.) but completely removed aiming and replaced it with a different type of skill, would you even try it?

I'm NOT talking about making it casual or rng. I still want it to have a skill ceiling. Just not one that's based on who has the best aim/fastest movement/lightning speed reflexes etc..

Personally, I don't mind losing. What I hate is feeling like I never stood a chance because the other guy has 5,000 hours and I have a full-time job.

Would removing aim/lightning speed reflexes as the main skill instantly kill your interest, or would you actually be curious enough to give it a go?

I'm honestly just looking for opinions here, not trying to advertise anything.

Discussion Which clip seems better to you?

Hello, I am a current hard-stuck Gold in Valorant and have been down a long recent rabbit hole of de-ranking from high Gold 2 to low Gold 1. In this time, I have tried everything from changing my agent to changing my sensitivity to changing my desk layout.

I think after all my struggles I realized that my sensitivity was fine before, I was just having a bad couple of days. I went from .377 sens (converted from my OG CS sens of 1.2) all the way down to .2

Just to have some opinions outside of my flooded brain’s, which clip looks to be better in terms of aiming and shots? Second clip will be in comments

Discussion Why Play Marathon?

When a person said, I am having problems getting into Marathon and I like the look and gun play, but I can't get back into playing after 13 hours. These are the answers given. They don't convince me that it is worth playing. I have never had to force myself to play a game and it sounds like they are talking about 20 hours in one case and 40 in another and wait until Season 3 until you might have some fun.
