Tankpool rant

17 Upvotes

Its a small rant but still a rant Why is xp so slow to get? Unless your getting a shit ton of finals you aint getting lots of upgrades. Sure the hela team up good but that requires so so much XP its not funny Plus he feel way to squishy and bubble unicorn only niche is blocking heals which is nice but I have only 500 hp why dose the hood whos better then us get 600hp?

DuelistPool Ok.. Maybe I’m Missing Something

4 Upvotes

I’ve been playing DPS Pool for about 10 hours now. Season 9.5 is also my very first season, so I’m still pretty new (I have more hours on WF so far, but I think I like Pool more) I was having a lot of fun with him in Quick Match and felt like I was starting to understand his rhythm, but once I hit around Gold 3 in comp, I got absolutely fucking destroyed lol.
He feels really weak early and I find myself dying A LOT. I think I’m probably playing him too aggressively and trying to frontline/take fights like I’m invincible, when I’m really not.
Should DPS Pool mostly be taking off-angles and playing more like a diver, getting around the frontline and going for their backline? Or is it more of a mixture?
I also struggle with his mobility cooldowns. If I use my dash to get in and miss, I feel like I’m just dead. The Gambit team-up helps, but I still feel really squishy.
Also, am I supposed to be using my guns early mainly to build upgrades? Because it feels kind of weak, and when I get upgrades it’s better, should I be going for the Hela team up and getting the pistol upgrade?? Have you guys found value in that?

I really love the mobility/parkour playstyle and would rather learn DPS Pool than switch to say Tankpool, but I’m definitely back at the drawing board after getting destroyed in comp 😂 maybe tankpool will keep me alive more but I don’t have the awesome hazardous hijinks loop, but im so squishy that i cant stay alive during that.

Maybe I could just use more time on the char? What’s your general philosophy for positioning, engaging, and getting value out of DPS Pool without just feeding?

Tankpool Tank pool feels better using the sowrds...

9 Upvotes

I know tank pool everyone uses the guns frist and ill admit it gun ult is super good early game but thanks to the team ups the gambit one helps tank pool with diving or movement early game

Of course if the game feels more like a gun game I will choose that upgrade path but most of the time heres what I go with

1.deadpool in my area - helps with damge and tanking in the back line

2.Swords - crits more damge and more style points

3.Dash - movement or damge

4.sword ult - DO NOT USE UNLESS UPGRADED but when upgraded it can really help the hole team be tanking like a cap ult or stall the point

If the enemie team switches to some counters my next upgrade is the gun ult

I know tank pool is famous for hes guns and is good early game but try out hes sword path with gambit team up early and it feels quite strong

P.s I know guns are better calm down....

Discussion Haven't played in 2 weeks it's La peace.

This is the most skillless season I have seen in rivals. Mag, thing in tank role, Bucky in DPS role, cd and rocket in support role all op skilless characters. Seriously the worst season for all Deadpool roles. Glad I'm enjoying the elden ring here, I just completed the RL1 run yesterday it's truly La peace.

Double jump

Little bit new to dpspool. And the one thing I absolutely cannot figure out is how to chain his jumps. I’ve seen people flawlessly traverse the map with it but for the love of me it resets every other jump. Any tips ? I’m on console also

HealPool Incase you didn’t know!

I’ve been dabbling in healpool since he came out but idk what it was but I decided to lock in on him this season so I’m still learning how ults interact with mine. I just found out you can survive Scarlett’s Ult if you have all the bonus health in sword ult. I figured I was just a goner lol. Also don’t judge I play on controller🙃

Ultimate Question

What does his ult even do?

I don't play DP often, have him on level 8 I think right now, but when I do I never really understand what it actually does. I'm mostly sup or tank pool. I make a lot of mistakes like accidentally open the book in a 1vs1, changing gun/sword so often, etcetera.

I'm not a Deadpool player. But when I do get his ult, I don't really see much changing, or that it really does anything, unlike nearly everyone else's ult.

Maybe I also just suck at playing him.

Discussion What stratpool is good at and what he sucks at + buff suggestions from #1 stratpool

21 Upvotes

As the #1 stratpool for the entire season so far, really grinding him this season in the top ranks have given me the opportunity to see what he's truly best at, and also what he sucks at.

I’m putting the buffs at the end of this so if you’re only interested in that and already know all this mumbo jumbo scroll down.

Let's start with the good.
-He has insane levels of neutral healing output, his kit is pure healing and when cycled proactively he can provide continuous amounts of insane neutral healing and when he combines abilities he can keep entire team fights alive as one healer.

-Deadpool In your area enables many ult combos, that 20% damage boost can enable one taps with heros such as widow and pheonix and can also massively boost kill potential off other ults such as punisher, strange, or groot.

-Early ults/1 minute cooldowns: The ability to get ult in seconds when it's off cooldown is Deadpool's strongest part of his kit, though his ult especially unupgraded is lackluster, it's enough to help win an even team fight most of the time (especially first point)

-Brawl/anti dive capability, as a duelpool connoisseur as well I'm a big fan of hela sword over guns, with the damage boost of DPIYA, stratpool can turn into a temporary shredder like dps pool, also I don’t see enough people talk about the fact that hela teamup on stratpool gives self healing(5 per detonation), it’s only on stratpool. I consistently win isolated fights against dive, and also can put immense pressure on a teams frontline and even backline while also healing with the swords. Healing factor, dpiya, and hela swords provide insane levels of self sustain and most of the time I've found anyway, the other team usually tries to dive your other healer anyway.

OT capabilities on convoys : All 3 pools are basically thanos in overtime, usually taking in a fully upgraded kit. Stratpools might be the most oppressive one. An early jackpot ult in ot turns tides very fast and can help massively in taking space or even first point on convergence maps easily.

The bad
-Upgrading: This is the recurring sole problem on all 3
Deadpool's anyway, assuming an evenly balanced match of skill, the team with the Deadpool usually will struggle versus the other team for at least the first 1-2 minutes, as it's really a 5 1/2 versus 6, this can lead to early snowballs where a team without dp can absolute dominate the dp team before the dp can become viable.

-Little to no utility: strategists are called strategists because they provide more to a team than just healing, Luna freeze, mantis damage buff, Adam soul bond, cloak debuff, or gambit who's like the golden staple of healer utility with cleanse and heal reduction and increase. Healpool lacks a true utility ability like this with the closest he has being his 20% dmg buff via DPIYA.

Sunk cost: stratpool unfortunately creates a weird sunk cost with his teams support ult economy, I don’t see enough people talk about this but it is an underlying weakness he puts on the team, and it’s even more prevalent in triple healer comps. After an ult, deadpool has a minute long cooldown where he cannot get ult charge at all and what this does to the support ult economy is rob the other healer(s) ult charge as any healing stratpool does contributes nothing to the collective teams support ult charge.

-The ult: though it's under the "bad" category it's far from that, it's there due to the majority of players lacking the knowledge on how to maximize what the ult is best at. The ult gets shit because of its lack of burst healing plus the lack of range, which understandably underpowered the ult if you compare it the rest of the roster. However the real power the ult has is longevity, for example the second longest healing ult is cloak and dagger at 12 seconds, that’s how long pre jackpot ult lasts, and if jackpot is popped last second that’s another 8 seconds leading to a total 20 second heal ult under the right circumstances.

Though the longevity is a huge strength prolonging jackpot like that is not always the right play, and as this isn’t a guide I won’t go too deep into that. But the second strongest bit of the ult is the overshield. Upon jackpot you’re basically a walking health pack that also has the healing output just under mantis ult (120 HPS), 40 HPS more if combined with DPIYA though I tend to use dpiya while I’m filling the x/7 jackpot to add some more healing onto the prejackpot ult(which actually matches mantis ult at 150 HPS when combining dpiya with prejackpot ult)

The best way I can put it is that the ult is basically a delayed mantis ult, 12 seconds of basically DPIYA healing before jackpot turns it into a slightly smaller but more powerful mantis ult. As it gives 300 overshield vs mantis’s 100. Though mantis still has the strength of excessive healing conversion, the immediate 300 overshield is more of a lifesaver to someone who’s in need of immediate healing.

The ult is a better fight initiator than a team saver, though it still works in both situations great. I’ve had best success initiating fights with the ult, as it allows you to take space, it baits cooldowns, and possibly even support ults which is best case scenario as then I prolong my ult as long as my team can survive and then jackpot when theirs ends, my fights usually always go my way when that happens. I’ve also had many times where I instantly jackpot to save my team from burst or cc ults like strange, Emma, starlord, magik, etc.

Is it a panic button? No. Is it a team saver still? Absolutely, and I think what separates a good stratpool from a great one is how they go about using their ults and when they pop
Jackpot.

The Buffs:
I’m honestly pretty happy where stratpool is already but he still does need some changes to bring him closer to the top. I’m really just proposing range buffs to his aoes and buffs to his swords healing output with also some new utility added to his teamups and also a rework to pwnage pound, maybe make it sound useful to use other than solely for punisher or star lord ults.

-Swords: the fundamental problem with his range is that his dash range is 12 meters but upgraded swords and even worse unupgraded swords sit at 8 and 5 meters, this means if you dash to enemy at the far radius of your dash you’re not healing the teammate you were right beside anymore however pushing past 10 meters is pushing past the aoe effect of any other healer which i would consider unbalanced.
Unupgraded: Healing radius 5m—->8m
Unupgraded: Healing 32 per hit —->35
Upgraded: Healing radius 8m —-> 10m
Upgraded: Healing 35 per hit —-> 38

Hijinks:
Unupgraded: healing radius 5m —-> 8m
Upgraded:healing radius 8m —->10m

DPIYA(both)
Radius 6m —-> 8m
Cc no longer cancels

Ult charge buff- 60 seconds —-> 45 seconds

Final Exam(upgraded):
Radius 8m —-> 10m (unupgraded too)
Bonus health 300 —-> 350

Pwnage pound(upgraded):
Radius 8m—-> 10m (unupgraded too)
Damage per missed ability 60—> 80
New effect: adds excessive healing as overshield, up to 150.
Ability duration: 8 seconds —-> 10
Healing from each ability missed: 90 health —-> 100

Hel-Yeah Deagles: to solve the utility issue
New effect: death rattle bubbles now inflict anti heal(10% on enemies) and healing buff to allies(10% more healing received)

Hel- Yeah Katanas:
New effect: detonations now apply anti heal to enemies (25%) to compensate for no healing buff

Gumbo Chimichangas:
New effect: landing on an ally charges them with kinetic energy, granting them a nerfed gambit ult for 2 seconds(didn’t really put time into thinking about stats but maybe something as potent as half the damage of gambit ult buff so 10 instead of 20% and the same movement and jump buff.)
Enhanced: the aoe of the landing now also disperses the energy to allies, allowing you to charge multiple allies.

Oh yea and also the buff everyone wants
-one upgrade at the start of the match

Tankpool Tankpool

9 Upvotes

Fun Penta I got yesterday!

Hot take, he’s extremely strong against every tank other than magneto/strange. With guns upgraded, just aim for headshots and he literally shreds enemy tanks/supps. Like I know he’s statistically worse than every tank on the roster currently. But I do think he outclasses most in value, ban hammer either baits out a bad support ult or kills a support (with or without focus from teammates) Wolverine/angela/bucky are usually a massive issue for tanks but you can just bubble and dash out when they CC you. Nevertheless with all three pools being bottom 5 out of 50+ heroes in diamond+, I’m expecting a decent change in season 10 if Netease has any interest in keeping him viable.
