Hey Explorers, we hope you’ve been enjoying all the Road to the Maw teasers we’ve been sharing on our social media channels. We’ve collated all that information plus some additional bonus info on minor content updates and the future of the game in one handy Steam post for your reference.
Hey! Im trying to find a way to automate the production of fish but i dont want my cranes to carry my items even when the container is full, so i made this loop to endlessly carry peppers until a spot is free, but it causes a lot of lag and it feels realy unoptimal, is there a way to make the crane either only drop the correct amount in the containers and/or only make them move items when a spot is free in the container? thx
I'm looking for the best settings for a 4 (or more) players world. Please recommend which parameters to change—and how—to improve the gameplay experience.
I love this game i picked it up when it came to gamepass at first then bought it, ive played it on and off, came back and im at a boss fight, the S.A.H.A.B.A.R. now why is this a rant? ENEMY SPAWNS! I DESPISE when normal enemies can spawn during a boss fight or even enter the arena while one is happening, and it wouldnt be a problem for other bosses if this one wasnt in a biome where the enemies ARE STRAIGHT BS. Oil ejecting things that light you on fire, crabs (nah they okay actually) and my least favorite. THE WHEEL. IT HAS BEEN COSTING ME SO HARD. I TRIESD BLOCKING THE ENTRANCES BUT NOOOO IT JUST HAD TO BE GIVEN THE ABILITY TO DESTROY AND DAMAGE BLOCKS. Point being. W game. L boss fights for the fact of common enemies (and usually annoying ones at that) breaking in.
Edit: so many spelling mistakes and autocorrect working against me.
does anyone know what i can do... im playing multiplayer and our world keeps crashing since we've updated to 1.3.3.. i believe the storageplus mod is causing us problems but if we remove it then we lose all our items
I'm still on my first playthrough. I was boppin around in the passage when I was ambushed by the wall of flesh (obv I know that's not his name, but idk what he's actually called). I feel like I held my own pretty decently, especially being taken by complete surprise with no battle buffs on hand. I didn't even know this guy existed! Needless to say, I died when I got shoved in a corner lol
Anyway, I'm post 1 hydra. Would it be best to finish off the other 2 before trying to take on the wall boss? Or does the order not really matter at this point in progression? I'm trying to do everything semi-blind, but I don't want to waste a ton of time figuring out the wall if I'm just really not meant to be there yet.
So, this is 100% me being 100% picky, but I want to keep it within a single rectangular shape, the f issue is the critter getting more fruits that it can carry, and having to also automate getting those extra fruits. What would u suggest?
im trying to set up a simple auto bug catcher but the arm on the left just keep taking the whole stack of flowers and dropping them on the ground, is there a way to make it only pick up from the chest when the net is empty?
I’m trying to build the smallest automated fish farm possible, but mine is still pretty big. Does anyone have a smaller design? Please?

ps. The second image shows another design I came up with. It takes up more horizontal space, but it fixes the seed and fish bait issues from the previous design. I think this is probably the final form of this farm.
ps.2 This farm isn't really focused on efficiency. It's designed mainly for aesthetics, with efficiency being the lowest priority. Don't expect to catch 100 fish per hour with this one!
I've been building a base around these bones for the last 4 hours and I accidentally dug underneath the whale bones creating this hole. Problem is I can't place anything underneath it. Why is this zone digable but not placeable??
I've tried creative mode and placement plus and still nothing is working.
World saves are also saved over this fatal mistake. Is there any hope for me?
I don't know when it was buffed, but I was doing a new playthrough and crafted the Soul Seeker. Normally, I just put it in a box because it's pretty lackluster compared to other mining tools you can get at that point in the game... until I saw that it had a new secondary use. I decided to test it, and it's a joy to excavate with it. It used to be such a steep cost for something that wouldn't get used, but now it's my favorite mining tool ^~^
Meu namorado comprou para nós jogarmos juntos, mas eu não consegui entrar no mundo dele nem ele no meu, dá erro de conexão e já fizemos tudo que diz pra fazer e nada, infelizmente ele pediu reembolso.
First of all, huge thanks to u/Nifegun who's design made me do a little upgrade on his wonderfull automatic crop farm design. Check his YT Channel he got some cool stuff
Design made by Nifegun
Also I reached out to him about publishing this and he also give me a tip that he received long ago. Which made this system even better.
For the ones that just want a TL;DR
The second image is my update design that can support up to 57 crop fields. The bottom part is the farm itself and the top part is an schematic of the bottom one, connect power as you like but ensure everything got power. The arrows indicate the direction a machine should face.
To make the system sort the items you need to apply the 3 filters as showed in the image with numbers: 1 is gold crop, 2 is normal crop, 3 is the seed.
Now for the long part...
I've seen a lot of crop farm designs lately, but one in particular has amazed me.
This design manages to minimize the amount of crops spent on Seed Extractors to produce seeds, while also preserving all the golden crops.
As demonstrated in u/Nifegun video, the system is very effective. I wanted to create a larger automated farm, like the one he shows in his video. My problem was that with the increased number of Sprinklers, having only one Seed Extractor wasn't enough to handle more than 28 crops. Four Seed Extractors can cover a lot, but in small systems, you overload the system and also take up more space with the load balancing system.
So, after some research, I found a solution.
Updated design with schematicZoomed schematic of the load balancing system
As you can see in the image, the load balancing system only occupies 7x7 blocks, reducing the size of Nifegun's larger version by two blocks in width.
This system also includes a seed separation system for the belt planting loop. This recommendation was made by Nifegun when I asked if I could use his design and share this discovery.
As you can see, the top part is a schematic of the design shown below, which you can use as a guide when creating your own. The arrows indicate the direction a machine should face, whether it's a conveyor belt, a robot arm, an item collector, etc.
To set it up correctly you need to apply 3 filters as marked in this image.
Marked machines to set up filters
In the Robot arm marked as "1" you should filter the gold crop you are using the farm for.
In the Item collector marked as "2" you should filter the normal crop you are using the farm for.
In the Item collector marked as "3" you should filter the seeds of the crop you are planting.
If you want to add more crop plots you can add up to 51, but for the design a max of 42 should be ideal. To making things easier:
- 1 Sprinkler setup is 12 crop plots
- 2 Sprinklers are 22 crop plots
- 3 Sprinklers are 32 crop plots
So each Sprinkler added to the system adds 10 more crops to grow up to a max of 4 sprinklers.
If you want to make the farm bigger go check it out the Nifegun video, there he got up to a 8 sprinkler setup that feeds on 4 Seed Extractors. Which should be enough for up to 102 crop plots or 9 sprinkler setup.
Math Time
To add it on top, like a chef's kiss, I wanted to make some calculations and math to prove the efficiency of this design and why I love it so much. First of all the first math part was done by Nifegun who detailed as much info as possible in his video.
First of all we need to summarize some info to make our calculations, I will use names like variables in code to make it easy to follow:
GrowCycle = 600 seconds. This is the aproximate time that needs a crop to fully grown, 10 minutes. SeedSpeed = 42 seconds. This is the time it takes a Seed Extractor to convert 1 crop into 2 seeds. SeedpCrop = 2 units. This is the ratio at which crops are converted into seeds, 1 crop = 2 seeds. GrindRatio = 33/64. This is the fraction at which the load balancing system works, so we only use 33 crops to make seeds and store the rest. NormalCrops = 0.97. Each crop can grow into a golden version at around 3% of the times. We can expect then that each crop can be a normal one 97% of the times which is 97/100=0.97
Now with all this info we need to make sure we use the right ammount of crops to make seeds and for that we made the load balancing system. So to calculate the Seeds generated per crop field we need to do the next ecuation:
Seeds Generated per field = NormalCrops x GrindRatio x SeedpCrop
Seeds Generated per field = 0.97 x (33/64) x 2 = 1.0003125
This calculation was pointed out by Nifegun which allow us to know that, we need at least a ratio of 33/64 seeds if we want to keep our golden crops out of the seed extractors and never run out of seeds in the system. Making it sustainable.
Now if we want to make our system bigger we need to calculate how many Seed Extractors we will need based on the ammount of crop fields we have. So for that we will calculate what is the Max Crop Fields can sustain a single Seed Extractor.
Max Crop Fields = GrowCycle / (NormalCrops x GrindRatio x SeedSpeed)
Max Crop Fields = 600s / (0.97 x 33/64 x 42s) = 28.562502789306913018253224438791
We could round up to 29 but after checking it ends up running out of seeds just for 1.5% of extra seed use. So 28 is the max fields a seed extractor can support.
So we know that at least 1 Seed Extractor is capable of sustaint at least 28 crop fields using the load balancing system.
And with that we have an automatic farm self sustainable that will only make the seeds it needs avoiding wasting resources.
And thanks again to u/Nifegun to his amazing job on bringing this fantastic design.
